"I know. Of course, I know. Mom already told me you’re out there messing around, playing the part of a thug. Isn’t that what you’ve been doing?" Mu Wan said with a cold sneer.

Hearing this, Mu Chengzhen was taken aback, a flicker of embarrassment crossing his handsome face. "Sis, it’s not what you think," he explained hastily. At home, Mu Chengzhen wasn’t really afraid of his parents; the one he truly feared was his older sister.

"Then what is it? Mu Chengzhen, stop playing dumb with me! I’m telling you, if you’re going to keep fooling around outside, then get out of here! Right now! Immediately!" Mu Wan’s expression darkened, her tone ice-cold.

Stunned, Mu Chengzhen hadn’t expected his sister to be so severe. For a moment, he genuinely didn’t know how to respond.

Just then, however, the heavily made-up woman trailing behind him spoke up. "Chengzhen, let’s go. Who needs this dump of a home anyway? As long as you marry me, the entire San Ye Sect will be yours." The woman cooed, her voice not so much seductive as it was unnervingly eerie.

"Shut your mouth! This is our family’s business, and it’s not the place for an outsider like you to be pointing fingers!" Mu Wan said, looking at the woman with utter disgust.

"Oh my, Chengzhen, this woman is insulting me! She actually dared to insult me..." the heavily made-up woman whined, clinging to Mu Chengzhen’s arm. She rubbed it against her sagging bosom while sobbing pitifully.

"Get off me!" Mu Chengzhen was already agitated, and the woman’s incessant crying pushed him over the edge. Without a second thought, he violently shook his arm, flinging her aside.

With Mu Chengzhen’s strength and the woman being caught completely off guard, she tumbled to the ground. She let out a cry of pain, her expression twisting.

"Mu Chengzhen, have you no shame?!" the woman shrieked as she scrambled up from the floor, her tone venomous. "Who do you think you are? If your father wasn’t the head of the Hangcheng military region, do you think I’d waste my time on you? So you’re hitting me now? Fine! You just watch your back if you ever dare to show your face on the streets again!"

"Hit you? That wasn’t him hitting you. *This* is!" With that, Mu Wan swung her arm and slapped the woman hard across the face.

SLAP!

The crisp sound echoed through the hall, and the force of the blow sent the woman crashing to the ground. The slap had completely stunned her. She stared blankly at Mu Wan, as if she couldn’t believe she would dare to strike her.

"You... you dare to hit me?" the woman stammered, clutching her cheek.

"So what if I hit you?" Mu Wan scoffed.

"You dare hit me? You filthy bitch, I’ll kill you!" the woman shrieked, scrambling to her feet and swinging a wild palm at Mu Wan’s head.

Mu Wan sneered. How could this woman possibly be her match? The gap between them was far too vast. She easily caught the woman’s wrist and, with a slight application of force, threw her to the ground again.

THUD! The woman landed hard on her rear, and she began to howl like a pig at the slaughter.

"Get out of here, now! Trash like you isn’t worthy of setting foot in the Mu Family’s home!" Mu Wan snarled, glaring down at the woman on the floor.

Hearing this, the woman struggled to her feet. One hand clutched her throbbing rear, the other her stinging face. Her eyes, filled with venom, shot between Mu Wan and Mu Chengzhen. "Fine! You’re both ruthless! Just you wait. This isn’t over! Neither of you is getting away with this!"

After spitting out her threat, she turned and ran out of the house.

Watching her flee, Mu Chengzhen winced. It wasn’t that he was afraid of the woman herself, but she was the daughter of the San Ye Sect’s leader!

"Mu Chengzhen, you’ve really got some nerve, huh?! Is there any piece of trash you won’t mess with? You’re a damn scoundrel!" As she spoke, Mu Wan raised her hand, aiming a slap at Mu Chengzhen’s face.

Terrified, Mu Chengzhen squeezed his eyes shut. He didn’t dare to dodge. If he did, Mu Wan would never let him hear the end of it.

But just then, a strong hand caught her wrist.

"Alright, Wan’er. Chengzhen doesn’t have much experience with the world. A scolding is enough, don’t hit him. And even if you do, don’t hit the face," the person said. It was, of course, Lin Kuang.

Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, Mu Wan thought he had a point. She mulled it over for a second, then lowered her hand and instead kicked Mu Chengzhen squarely in the rear.

BAM! Mu Chengzhen was sent flying onto the sofa.

"Sis, you hit too hard!" he complained, rubbing his backside with a woeful expression.

"Too hard? Want to try something even harder?" Mu Wan asked, waving a small fist menacingly.

"Brother-in-law, save me! The tigress is about to go berserk again!" Mu Chengzhen scrambled up and hid behind Lin Kuang, pleading for help. He knew Lin Kuang, of course. Back when Mu Wan was on her secret mission in Tokyo, Lin Kuang had often visited Hangcheng with her.

"You little rascal, how dare you call me a tigress?" Mu Wan said, glaring fiercely.

"Well, you’re acting just like one," Mu Chengzhen muttered under his breath.

"You scoundrel! Mu Chengzhen, just you wait and see how I deal with you!" Mu Wan exclaimed, ready to lunge at him again.

"Alright, alright, Wan’er, don’t be mad. Chengzhen wasn’t lying, you know," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, holding her back.

"Hmm." Mu Wan nodded, then froze. "Hmm? What did you just say? Repeat that!" she demanded, turning on Lin Kuang furiously.

"Ah? Uh, I didn’t say anything! I meant Chengzhen was lying!" Lin Kuang hastily backpedaled, realizing he’d just made a major slip of the tongue.

"Lin Kuang, you’re a scoundrel too!" Mu Wan said fiercely, punching him squarely in the chest.

Seeing it coming, Lin Kuang didn’t dodge. If he didn’t let her vent her anger, he knew this girl wouldn’t let it go. Thinking this, he stoically took the punch.

Seeing that he hadn’t moved, Mu Wan immediately lessened the force behind her fist, though she still shot him a venomous glare. "Move aside. Let that little scoundrel out."

"Brother-in-law, don’t move! She’ll hit me again!" Mu Chengzhen yelped from behind him.

"I can’t be bothered to hit you. Just get out here," Mu Wan said impatiently.

"You... you’re really not going to hit me?" Mu Chengzhen asked, poking his head out from behind Lin Kuang, his face a mask of disbelief.
