Unlimited estates for rural beauty
Chapter 270 Second Update (3)
"Aren’t you afraid that Father Emperor will send troops to attack you afterward?" the Crown Prince frowned, looking at his own brother.
"I’m not afraid, he won’t have the chance," Dugu Chen said with a mysterious smile at the Crown Prince.
The Crown Prince shook his head and smiled helplessly.
As days passed by, ever since she returned from offering incense at the temple, Feng Xuxu either received guests at the estate or was locked in her room embroidering her wedding gown.
Yingsu entered the room and saw the young lady still stitching rapidly. She came forward and massaged her shoulders, saying, "Miss, the gown the Prince brought last time was very beautiful, and you looked lovely in it. Why do you still need to embroider one yourself?"
Feng Xuxu just smiled without answering.
"Miss, Miss," Baihe started shouting from outside before she even entered the room.
Baihe ran into the room, gasping for breath, and cheerfully said to her mistress, "Miss, the uncle from Jueqing Castle, the aunt, and the Young Master have all arrived; they’re in the front courtyard."
"Really?" She stood up from her stool in surprise, picked up her skirt, and ran quickly towards the front courtyard.
"Uncle, Aunt, Big Brother."
Turning their heads, the three of them saw a graceful young girl standing at the doorway.
"Haha, come here, let your uncle take a good look; our Xuxu is about to get married," her uncle Xuanyuan Zhen called out to Feng Xuxu with a beckoning hand, his tired face smiling as he watched her.
"Indeed, in just a few months, I hadn’t expected that you would be getting married," the aunt said with a hint of regret at not having Xuxu as her daughter-in-law, but she still held genuine affection for her.
Feng Xuxu sat beside her aunt, her face blooming with shy pride as she spoke about marriage, "I didn’t expect to get married so soon myself."
"Sister has grown more and more beautiful," her big brother Feng Xi said with a worried face, not expecting his sister to get married so suddenly after going out, making it even harder to see her in the future.
Since their last parting in Feng Family Village, she hadn’t seen her brother again. He went to Jueqing Castle, and she just happened to be in seclusion, missing him. By the time she came out, he had already left.
"Big Brother has become even more handsome and mature than before," she said.
"Xuxu, let them wash and rest first, and we can talk more tonight," Jueqing interjected, seeing that everyone’s eyes were red.
"Look at me, getting so excited and forgetting all about that," Feng Xuxu said, realizing she had been overcome with joy and had forgotten.
"The courtyard has been tidied up a few days ago, and everything inside, like the beddings, is brand new. I’ll take you there," she said affectionately, taking her aunt’s hand.
"Then if my cousin escorts Father and Mother, I’ll escort my cousin," Jueqing stepped forward, hooked Feng Xi’s shoulder, and laughed heartily.
On the way to Songcui Garden, walking arm-in-arm with her aunt, she asked, "How are Grandpa and Grandma doing?"
"They are both very well. Mother is much stronger than she was before. She even wanted to come to the Capital City with us this time, but Father was worried and, with some persuasion, convinced her not to," her aunt recalled with a sigh, mentioning how her grandmother was initially disappointed to learn that Feng Xuxu would marry someone else than Jueqing.
"After I get through this busy period, I’ll go back to visit Grandpa and Grandma," she herself missed her grandparents.
Feng Xuxu casually turned her head and saw the worried expression on her uncle’s face, "Uncle, what’s wrong with you?"
The uncle gave an embarrassed laugh and waved his hand, saying, "Nothing, it’s just that after reaching a certain age and traveling for a few days, I’m a bit tired."
Feng Xuxu didn’t believe him and turned to her aunt, "What’s going on, who has upset my uncle?"
The Liao Family matriarch first furrowed her brows, then looking at her husband, she sighed, "The clan is currently planning to replace the Holy Maiden, and your uncle has been troubled by this for several days now."
