Tribulation of Myriad Races
Chapter 2084: Reactions (2)
Su Yu started raging. This was infuriating. He had never seen this coming.
But soon, he grinned. Just as another bolt of lightning descended upon him, he punched it apart before extracting the five elements out of the scattered lightning bolt to nourish his five elemental daos.
This was troubling.
Or to be precise, this looked troubling to the ones observing the process. Wan Tiansheng did not want to distract Su Yu, but he couldn't resist saying, "Don't waste your time challenging the chaos dao. Just focus on your dao pioneering. It won't be able to kill you so easily."
What was he doing?
He was fighting chaos like an angry child.
Su Yu laughed and said, "I'm merely doing the unexpected. It's striking me with lightning, so I steal from his power to feed my daos. In any case, this will also help deepen my comprehension."
The five elements he extracted from chaos were the wildest form of the five elements. They were a lot more intense than his five elements. However, he was only extracting a small amount of power each time, allowing his five elements to easily suppress and devour the power he was extracting.
With this, the five elemental daos grew even longer. Meanwhile, Su Yu started punching the lightning bolts with his left hand while his right hand formed numerous seals as he continued his dao pioneering.
He had decided to face the tribulation head-on. He was not the type to take a beating passively. Since chaos was trying to punish him, he naturally needed to let chaos suffer the backlash.
With a rumble, earth and metal finally finished their fusion. The five elemental daos were foundational daos, so it wasn't too hard for Su Yu to fuse them. As earth and metal fused, a heavy yet sharp aura erupted from the dao, yet the transition felt smooth and natural.
It was as though the two belonged together. Next, Su Yu started fusing the third dao: the water dao.
Metal begets water.
As the fusion progressed, the rain of lightning grew heavier. That was not all. Chaos itself shook as a powerful repelling force erupted, as though it was attempting to chase Su Yu away.
"Nope. Not leaving."
Su Yu roared stubbornly.

Great Zhou King sighed and looked at Wan Tiansheng. The two exchanged helpless gazes. There was nothing they could do about this. Su Yu was being rather childish right now. Sure, he was indeed very young. But his current behavior was still headache-inducing. He was quarreling with chaos itself.
Then again, it was indeed surprising that he was being punished with chaos lightning so early in his dao pioneering. He was nowhere near the end of the process.
At that thought, the two grew worried. The current scene might seem slightly comedic, but it was a sign that things would get even more dangerous as Su Yu progressed.
Wan Tiansheng sent a voice transmission, "I believe he'll do fine with the five elements, yin and yang, and the other foundational daos. But I'm worried about life and death. Or death in particular. I'm worried that he won't be able to fuse it properly with his dao. That will result in an imperfect foundation for his dao. Without a proper foundation, he will fail."
Great Zhou King nodded. "He will probably save death for the last among all the daos he's fusing into the domain dao. He is aware of how difficult death is to fuse. Do you have any ideas?"
After a short silence, Wan Tiansheng looked at He Tu and sent a voice transmission over, "Fellow Daoist He Tu, when Su Yu starts fusing the death dao later, I hope you can lend him a hand."
He Tu nodded. Inwardly, he was feeling quite nervous. Did Su Yu really understand death? After all, Su Yu had never died before.
***
Su Yu was naturally aware of that issue.
This was merely the start.
Even the lightning tribulation was merely the sign of what was to come. As the fusion of the five elements continued, the five elementals observed attentively, not willing to miss even a single detail.
Topsoil Spirit, in particular, was paying full attention to the process. The fusion of five elements was essentially the dao he pursued. Su Yu was demonstrating the birth and fusion of the five elements, and this could very well be the history of the dao he was cultivating.
As Topsoil Spirit watched, he started growing agitated. He had an intense desire to join Su Yu and get personally involved in the fusion. But he knew Su Yu couldn't be disturbed. In his agitation, the five elements within him separated. Then, he started fusing them again through the same method Su Yu was using.
Boom!
Suddenly, a rumble rang out. Everyone's head snapped toward Topsoil Spirit, whose entire body was scorched from the explosion. Even the distant Su Yu was looking at him. He had an awkward expression as he noted all the gazes on him.
That wasn't deliberate. He had simply failed to resist the urge to try things out himself.
With a chuckle, Su Yu said, "Get over here and experience it from a closer distance. I can even allow you to send a bit of your willpower into the five elements and immerse yourself in them."
"No!" Wan Tiansheng protested, "This is nonsense! You're pioneering a dao!"
Why was he acting all magnanimous at a moment like this? Wan Tiansheng was losing his mind. This was too important. How could Su Yu allow anyone to distract him?
Even if this wasn't a distraction, it was still too risky. He was essentially making himself vulnerable to Topsoil Spirit during such an important event. With a single thought, Topsoil Spirit could ruin all his progress. Was he wagering his future on Topsoil Spirit's loyalty?
Su Yu laughed and said, "It's fine. I'm interested in learning from the five elemental race as well. When cultivating the dao, we should explore together. I am no god. I am not good at everything. Everyone has something they're good at. Am I supposed to be better at the five elements than the five elemental race that has been cultivating this dao for hundreds of thousands of years?
"Come on, Topsoil Spirit. Get over here with your ancestors as well. Let's learn from each other."
After a short hesitation, Topsoil Spirit gnashed his teeth and sent his ancestors a voice transmission before flying forward. Wan Tiansheng had a helpless expression. What was Su Yu doing? Was this wise?
When Topsoil Spirit and his ancestors arrived, Su Yu said, "Resist some of the lightning for me and extract some power from the five daos to help perfect the process. Take this chance to further comprehend the fusion of five elements."
They did not say much. They had already accumulated some experience doing something similar when Su Yu dug the hole previously. Before long, the six started resisting the chaos lightning. There weren't any laws to chaos. The tribulation wouldn't grow stronger just because the number of participants had grown.
The six sent their willpower into Su Yu's five elemental daos, immersing themselves in the daos. The five daos continued their fusion, slowly turning into one dao. Topsoil Spirit could clearly sense that happening, and a look of pleasant surprise could be seen on his face.
He hurriedly started the fusion as well. Things remained calm as the daos did not grow unstable due to his participation.
Knowing that this was Su Yu's first attempt, he did not dare to act too rashly. He said, "Emperor Yu, since I'm more familiar with the five elements, let me try first. You can tell me how you intend to do it and I'll test the method on myself."
Su Yu chuckled. That was doable. If his method worked on Topsoil Spirit, it would most certainly work on himself as well. Thus, he did not hesitate and sent a wave of willpower into Topsoil Spirit's mind. They would both benefit from this.
He was allowing Topsoil Spirit to observe his Creation, and he wouldn't mind accepting Topsoil Spirit's help when offered. The moment Topsoil Spirit received the information package, he started his attempt.
Boom!
With a rumble, the fire and water powers within him exploded, causing him to cough a mouthful of blood.
Su Yu's heart thumped.
It failed?
Topsoil Spirit did not seem bothered. Instead, his eyes lit up as he said, "Emperor Yu, the fusion method is fine, but the distance between fire and water is too close during the fusion. You need to widen the distance."
Su Yu nodded. This was a minor detail, one that could be easily overlooked if he was doing this himself. Sure, the issue was minor enough that it wouldn't fail his entire attempt, but it would definitely destabilize his dao and force him to waste more effort on stabilizing it again.
Topsoil Spirit began another attempt. A short while later, his aura changed. His cultivation level remained the same, but his dao power had changed slightly. Suddenly, he threw a punch, throwing a blast of five elemental power. The five elemental power proceeded to take the form of a cage.
Five Elemental Cage.
"It works now."
Topsoil Spirit's eyes shone even brighter. His cultivation level remained somewhere between the third and the fourth tier of the Daofuse Realm. However, this method of fusion gave him a feeling that he could challenge even tier-two Daofuses.
It was akin to reaching the heavens in a single bound. One ought to remember that he had just reached the Daofuse Realm three days ago. With a pensive look, Su Yu started the fusion as well, taking extra care in managing the distance between the fire and the water.
Boom!
Five-colored waves rippled out as the five paths became one. Su Yu's eyes lit up with excitement. It was extremely smooth. With this, he was done with the basic foundation of his dao.
The moment the fusion was complete, the domain dao approached the five elemental dao automatically to began fusion. And the moment the two daos came into contact, numerous wondrous illusions appeared around them.
It was as though a world was slowly being carved out of chaos. From chaos, a world emerged. Then, the five elements came into existence in this primal world. Su Yu hurriedly stabilized the new world as the surrounding chaos rushed over to repel him once again.
This was forbidden. But Su Yu ignored it as he pushed on with the fusion.
Rumble!
Even more lightning bolts took form.
Just then, Tea Plant exclaimed, "Ancient beasts are coming! They're really coming! Do we fight them off?"
At that, Lan Tian emerged out of nowhere and stared into the distance. Sure enough, some ancient beasts could be seen. His expression changed. Clearly, the nearby ancient beasts had sensed what was happening here. With time, more and more chaos beasts would be attracted.
His face turned cold as he roared, "Kill!"
They had to kill these beasts before more of them could gather.
As Lan Tian charged forth, he said, "Kill them as soon as possible. Don't drag it out."
They couldn't afford to take it slow and allow the chaos beasts to grow in number. As time passed, more and more chaos beasts might arrive. Tea Plant wasted no time and reverted to her original form before sending countless roots out. Both her and Lan Tian were capable of utilizing chaos power. Thus, they could fight here without worrying about the rejection of chaos.
Boom! πππππ¬πππ·ππΏππ‘.ππΈπ
Lan Tian held nothing back and in the blink of an eye, a chaos beast's head was blasted apart by a punch. That was a powerful chaos beast at the level of a tier-three Daofuse. Even so, the beast was instantly killed.
He tossed the corpse back into the Origin Land and roared, "Great Ming King, create a set of formation. We might need more help out here."
Apart from Su Yu and Fat Ball, the rest of them had lost all the previously produced formations during their self-detonations. Thus, they needed to make more formations.
With the corpse in hand, Great Ming King shouted, "Help me dismember the corpse! Come on!"
And thus, they started working rapidly. At the same time, Lan Tian's expression changed as three gigantic beasts appeared not far away. Sure enough, there were more chaos beasts in their vicinity. One of them appeared smarter than the others. It started communicating through willpower.
"Leave!"
"This is chaos, not the Myriad Realms. Chaos is ours!"
Lan Tian couldn't be bothered to answer. Instead, he shot straight over and released the Heavenly Hunt Index. Time was of the essence here. He couldn't afford to squander his time away conversing with these beasts.
