Chapter 823: Supreme Dragon of Darkness, Valus.

โ€Ž Alexander had to admit, even though he had expected many things to happen after entering the elusive Land of Shadows, he had not expected to meet a monster Robot Samurai.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž His mouth was full of the black sand, it was unlike the textureless ground at Terra Damnum, the black sand here had all sorts of flavor.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Salty, spicy, sweet, sour, all kinds really. He didnโ€™t even know how. He could taste some red chilli in there, some pepper, and for goodness sake even garlic powder.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Maybe the Land of Shadows wasnโ€™t composed of black sand but rather spices!

โ€Ž

โ€Žโ€™Yeah, right...โ€™

โ€Ž

โ€Ž He failed to stand up, blood endlessly oozing out through his broken nose. His body was covered in bruises, and he was certain his wrists were fractured as well.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž He didnโ€™t resist anymore, letting his body rest on top of the black sand. The twin swords of the storms were far out of reach. One lay buried in a dune somewhere out there, whilst the other was in the hands of the Robot Samurai.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž"I must say, Iโ€™m disappointed."

โ€Ž

โ€ŽShi Lam remarked, sheathing the black blade. He closely examined the Sword of Lightning in his hands, though it was evident he didnโ€™t find it impressive.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Žโ€™Donโ€™t come out.โ€™

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Alexander said in his mind. He was talking to Festul, who had been raging to appear outside his body, but Alexander firmly stopped him.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž"While you arenโ€™t a pure God beast yet, you are on the road to becoming one. I guess I set my expectations too high after witnessing the prowess of the princes."

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€ŽThe Shadow Robot Samurai continued to talk, as Alexanderโ€™s vision began to fade. There was a constant ringing in his ears, likely from the blows he had received.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€ŽThe one up above had come here to teach him something, but Alexander had failed to learn it. Shi Lam had appeared in front of everyone to teach them the ways of the Shadows, but hardly anyone met his expectations.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Alan was still in the process of learning it, Alexander could even see it from below, far in the distance a black tide rising up, only to be cut in half. He spotted the occasional dragon breath as well.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€ŽKazikato had already done it, it was to be expected, considering his affinities and who he was.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Shi Lam had high hopes for Alexander, he really did, and the boy had achieved passing marks in every category but the one that mattered.

โ€Ž

โ€ŽThe way of the shadow didnโ€™t come easily to Alexander, for his shadow was but a coward.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Even though he had conquered it, even though he had passed the trial, his shadow didnโ€™t listen to him, it only hid behind him.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž It didnโ€™t respond to his calls, shadow manifestation was impossible.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Alexanderโ€™s shadow was a coward who hid behind the wall known as Alexander himself, a coward that was afraid to step into the light by himself.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Shi Lam was disappointed. He sighed as the youth below lost his consciousness.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž"The prince might be angry... "

โ€Ž

โ€Ž He hadnโ€™t intended to be too rough, but alas, things didnโ€™t go according to plan. It had been a while since he had seen such a cowardly shadow.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Most cowardly shadows had cowardly masters, but the one before him was the complete opposite of a coward.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž The master was brave, but the shadow was cowardly. Unfortunately, it seemed that the powers of the Shadow element werenโ€™t for Alexander.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž And neither for Edward as well, although that was a bit expected on Shi Lamโ€™s part.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Edward too late unconscious, in his own corner of the Shadow Realm, he had been defeated much like Alexander, although his was far more humiliating. The boy hadnโ€™t been able to put up a fight at all, unlike Alexander.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž He had expected much from an actual God beast, but alas, even now his expectations were met short.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Though it was strange the prince had two of them in his cohort, even though one was still in the process of becoming one. And what was more, it was a fox as well.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€ŽJust as how Earth and Metal dragons could go toe to toe physically against a God beast, the Fox and Owl clans of the God beasts could go toe to toe with the magical prowess of the dragons.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Which was why Shi lam was so confused as to what a fox was doing here... His knowledge of the current events of the outside world was bleak, he had spent a long time in the Shadow Realm as well.

โ€Ž

โ€Žโ€™Is it time for us to make a move as well? It all depends on his highness Valus, I suppose.โ€™

โ€Ž

โ€ŽFortunately, although Alexander and Edward had been disappointments in the ways of the Shadow, aside from the princes, one individual did exist who did not disappoint.

โ€Ž

โ€Ž Ironically, he was the weakest of them all.

Maxwell Parker, despite not having good talent, the favor of a fallen supreme, a unique bloodline, elemental prowess unlike any other, a regeneration factor, or even anything out of the ordinary... He piqued Shi Lamโ€™s interest the most.

Maxwellโ€™s shadow obeyed him the moment he had passed his trial, it had risen up his body through its own volition to protect him from Shi Lamโ€™s sword.

Even Shi Lam couldnโ€™t bring his Shadow to his knees through his presence, the mental resilience of the man was astonishing.

The other shadows of the shadow realm were wary of it as well, not because of any special power the man possessed.

He was weak, incredibly weak even according to the princes cohort, but he was still the one who held it together, and had done something even Shi Lam wouldnโ€™t dare to do.

He didnโ€™t believe it when he heard it, but the madman had actually threatened to tell on Azmakul to Alan.

The most senior dragon of the house of Death.

Shi lam had to admit it, the man was pathetically weak, but his goals and ambitions were the complete opposite.

Not to mention the resolve he held.
