Chapter 19: Accuracy Competition

The rules were simple. Use magic, arrow or even stones to hit the target.

Adrian had thought that everyone would go for it at the same time, but thanks to the viscount who made an announcement that everyone must do it one by one while the others watch, he had no choice but to wait.

He watched as most people didn’t even hit the target even once but there were a few who did. Among them, a young man called Leon had made him feel second hand embarrassment.

Leon looked at his target and then turned to look at Felicia.

"Felicia, these three arrows are for you."

A girl that had similar features to him threw a rose in front of him and he shot an arrow through it, making the petals scatter and fall back down. It did look good, but Felicia just felt like slapping the guy.

’These arrows are for me? Did he just threaten to shoot me?’ Felicia thought, her smile twitching. ’And he definitely planned that rose toss with his sister beforehand just to show off. Why would you violently ruin a perfectly good flower just to flirt? How idiotic...’

Others took turns and Bastian did the smart move of not participating in a competition where his skills did not lay.

Just like that, it was Adrian’s turn.

He picked up the arrow and he didn’t immediately use telekinesis to lift it up immediately.

Telekinesis didn’t exactly help him directly control things. It was similar to covering an object with a cloth and using the cloth to move it around.

That was how it was usually used but Adrian had a new idea.

Instead of a flexible cloth, he used his mana to make a thin pipe. He put the arrow into the pipe and grinned as it held its weight.

Seeing that it worked, he extended the pipe to his maximum range and pointed his finger at the back of the arrow before using gust.

With a loud whistling sound, the arrow cut through the air and hit the target right beside the bullseye.

As someone who had no experience with how aiming worked, he didn’t bother adjusting the pipe and just inserted another arrow into it before repeating the process.

What he didn’t consider, was the flow of winds that changed the flight of the arrow slightly.

It hit the target right above the first arrow, grazing it on the way.

As for the third, it miraculously hit the back of the first arrow that he had fired.

With all arrows right beside the bullseye, he was now leading in the first place while everyone looked at him, speechless.

Felicia took a deep breath and looked at her father who had the look of "See? I told you." on his face.

Leon on the other hand, looked absolutely furious as he compared his own results to Adrian’s. He had completely missed the target but his plan to capture her heart by shooting a rose didn’t seem to have worked.

"Why didn’t you throw the rose in the right path?" he asked as he blamed his sister instead and the poor girl just shrank and took the scoldings.

Another hour passed and the competition finally ended with Adrian taking the first place, Clair taking second and a guy who Adrian didn’t know, taking third.

"You are so talented unlike the rumors say about you." Felicia said as she walked towards Adrian, who was busy filling his plate with various delicacies.

"Huh? What do the rumors say about me? If it’s about me being a cheating scumbag, it’s all false. That bitch of a woman forged all evidence just to hide the fact that the true cheater is her."

"Say that again?" Vaneira’s voice came from behind and Adrian turned around to look at her with a blank expression, "I said what I said."

With that, he gave the plate to Aria and looked at Felicia instead, "So, what brings you here?"

"I was just interested about where you learned those spells from. I’ve never seen anything like that." she said as she batted her eyelids, making Aria roll her eyes in secret.

Adrian just looked at her for a few seconds before chuckling, "I mean, just the Basic Book of Spells that I got from the Magic Academy. Anyways, the food here is great!"

Saying that, he just left with Aria behind his toes as she tried to not drop the plate filled with food.

Felicia just stared as he left, absolutely stunned by how he was more interested in the food than her. As for Vaneira, she was just fuming and she knew that if she caused a scene here, it would only be her name that would be tainted.

After all, this wasn’t the royal court that only looked at hard proof. People would talk and come to their own conclusions. No one would ask for proof and no one would care.

So all she could do was curse him in her head and go back to socializing with a red face.

Adrian sat down on a chair and Aria took one beside him.

He took the plate from her hands and picked up a round white thing before bringing it to her mouth.

Aria took a small bite and her eyes instantly widened, "Coconut! And it’s sweet!"

She then grabbed the sweet from his hand and took another bite while Adrian ate his own. It was indeed sweet and the fresh grated coconut had a great chew and texture to it.

One by one, they ate the sweets and skipped the hunting event entirely just so they could taste everything available here.

This was not just any other father and daughter duo but a father and daughter duo that was absolutely crazy about food.

They went on multiple trips to the tables filled with food and by the time they were done, the group of guests came back from their hunting trip.

"Big sis Claire didn’t win..." Aria said softly as she looked at Claire who was still wearing the silver medal that she got for winning second in the accuracy competition.
