The Villainess Is My Cute Daughter
Chapter 133: Black And White
Adrian almost choked.
’Well, fuck you then.’ Adrian cursed internally. ’Why did you not just tell me you knew all of this before I spent twenty minutes talking to this guy?’
[I do not provide automatic suggestions without direct input or queries from the Master.]
’Fine.’ Adrian replied, feeling annoyed. ’Just make me a fabric out of that cow fur. It needs to be really close to high grade silk. It needs to be incredibly soft. But it also needs to be highly durable and it needs to have a great, elegant shine to it.’
[Affirmative.]
’Also, you do have better methods than the one he talked about right? If yes, use those if needed.’
[Affirmative.]
The system processed the request. It just took a few seconds for the dungeon to calculate the perfect weaving pattern based on the magical properties of the cow hair to give Adrian the fabric that he wanted.
[Should I convert all of the harvested fur into this specific fabric?] The system asked.
’Yeah.’ Adrian confirmed. ’Just do it.’
The system instantly transformed massive piles of loose hair into countless rolls of perfectly woven, white fabric.
Adrian then focused his attention back on the real world.
He looked at the shopkeeper. He did not want to pull a massive, heavy roll of fabric out of his pocket right in the middle of a the store. It wasn’t because he didn’t have a reason to give, but because he knew that the guy had to design the dress first.
"I will bring the fabric to you tomorrow." Adrian told the old man. "You guys just plan the actual dress design right now and I want the finalized design ready by tomorrow. Or you can take a little bit more time if you need to."
Adrian leaned closer to the counter.
"But no matter what happens," Adrian said seriously. "I want my daughter to look absolutely perfect. I want this dress to look like the absolute best piece of clothing you have ever created. You do not have to worry about the Emperor getting offended if you make something too grand. In fact, do not worry about any social rules. Just give me the absolute best dress you could ever make in your entire lives."
The shopkeeper swallowed hard.
"And I will pay you in hundreds of gold coins." Adrian promised. "If not thousands. As long as you do it perfectly."
The shopkeeper and his assistants stood there in total shock.
Because even for the richest nobles in the empire, the most expensive, custom tailored dresses only cost around twenty to thirty gold coins. And that was already considered an insanely high price for clothing. That was, of course, only in their store. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
They knew of a shop in the capital that sold clothes that cost over a hundred gold coins.
Hearing a Baron casually promise hundreds or thousands of gold coins instantly motivated every single worker in the room. Their eyes burned with pure passion, and maybe a little bit of greed too but Adrian didn’t care as long as they did their work well.
"We will not fail you, my lord!" the shopkeeper bowed perfectly.
Adrian turned around to leave the shop, but right before he reached the heavy glass doors, he stopped.
He looked back at Claire and Serena.
"Why don’t you guys get dresses made for yourselves too?" Adrian offered casually.
Claire and Serena blinked before they looked at each other in surprise.
"Just give the tailor whatever ideas you have in your mind." Adrian smiled.
Claire hesitated for a few seconds. She was used to wearing heavy steel armor and plain tunics. But she was also a woman, and the idea of a custom, high budget dress was incredibly tempting.
She thought about her own salary, which was in silvers and then the cost of the dress that would be made for Aria, which was over a hundred gold minimum. She bit her lip, ready to reject his offer but...
Then she remembered the uncrossed line on Serena’s book and took the first step forward. She walked up to the counter and started giving the tailor her exact preferences.
Serena stayed back back for a bit, looking pretty hesitant about getting her own. Even though she did not mind talking about clothes, she was still highly hesitant to accept such an expensive gift. She did not work under Adrian like Claire did. She was just a guest in his territory.
She did not have to worry about boss and employee boundaries like Claire, but in a way, Adrian was her benefactor. He was going to fix her mana veins, so she did not want to take too much from him and seem greedy.
But seeing Claire take the first step made it easier. Serena waited for her to finish her order and then she slowly walked forward and told the tailor what she wanted.
Claire asked for a beautiful cream colored dress. She wanted it covered with elegant gold engravings. Not actual gold, but fine gold colored fabric threads woven into intricate patterns across the bodice.
Serena gave her own request next. She asked for a light blue dress with pure white accents. She wanted a combination of light blue and white fabric with a lot of complex frills and delicate intricacies stitched along the hemline.
The shopkeeper scribbled all the notes down. Then the old man looked past the girls and made eye contact with Adrian.
"Would you like to order something for yourself, my lord?" the shopkeeper asked respectfully.
Adrian shrugged. "Well, I do not really know what to order."
He looked at the two girls standing by the counter. "Do you guys have any suggestions for me?"
Claire immediately stepped up. Adrian honestly did not expect her to answer that fast, but she did.
"Since Aria is going with black as her main color," Claire said confidently. "You should go with a pure white suit with gold engravings. The two of you will pair extremely well together."
