Chapter 1962: Chapter 1962: Amadeus, It Seems Someone’s Trying to Steal Your Girl

Across the street, a black Buick was quietly parked under a lush, leafy tree.

In the car.

Sadam Vinson had his hand on the steering wheel, and he casually commented, "Amadeus, that guy’s trying to poach. I saw him slipping Nathalie something. When Nathalie gets back, do you want to ask her about it?"

Amadeus Yancey, sitting in the passenger seat, rolled down the car window, and saw the girl walking across the street towards them, his strikingly handsome face calm and composed, seemingly in no hurry: "No need to ask."

"Tch." Sadam glanced at him, unclear whether he was overly confident or just had too much faith in Nathalie, and was about to say that Nathalie had accepted the ’gift.’

Amadeus simply stated, "A woman who has been seen by a lion won’t fall for a stray dog."

"..." Sadam was stunned for a full second before he realized what he meant.

Having been unexpectedly fed a mouthful of dog food, he was just about to retort that the guy looked pretty good and was from The First Research Institute, so how could he be a ’stray dog.’

However, before Sadam could speak, the car door in the back was opened from the outside.

Right after that, the girl who was just across the street got into the car.

"What are you guys talking about?" Nathalie Quinlan casually closed the car door and nonchalantly rolled down the window to let in the fresh air from outside.

"Oh, nothing, just some casual chitchat."

Amadeus Yancey handed over the fresh orange juice he had bought long ago, steering the conversation away: "How did the group examination go today?"

"Oh, right, I almost forgot," Sadam joined the conversation, turning his head to look at her: "Nathalie, how did you do in the group exam today?"

Nathalie took the drink from his hand, inserted the straw, took a small sip, relaxed her shoulders, nestled into the seat, and half-closed her eyes, looking somewhat lazy and carefree: "First place."

"Got lucky, just happened to get an A+."

She added this last sentence specifically in response to Sadam’s question about her exam results.

She said it carelessly, as if her A+ was purely due to luck.

But Sadam didn’t believe it at all, looking at her, already in awe: "Don’t tell me, the highest score for The First Research Institute’s group exam is exactly A+..."

He wasn’t sure if there was a better grade than A, like an S or something.

But since Nathalie only got an A+, he was more inclined to believe that the group assessment at The First Research Institute didn’t have an S grade, and A was the highest.

Just then Nathalie’s phone vibrated.

She thought it was Agnes Baker and the others looking for her, so she didn’t answer Sadam, but took out her phone and glanced down at it.

Fortunately, Amadeus was ’considerate’ enough to answer the question: "The highest score for The First Research Institute’s group exam is an A. If I remember correctly, no one has ever scored above an A in a group exam, and this time it’s probably the first A+ for a group at The First Research Institute."

Sadam was utterly speechless, and looking at Nathalie playing with her phone in the back, he couldn’t help but mutter: "She broke the record in the first round of the entrance assessment for the research institute, broke the record in the second round, and in her first group exam after entering the institute... I damn well think Nathalie is at The First Research Institute to break records!"

Nathalie’s results are just ridiculously off the charts!

We’re all human with noses and two eyes, so why is her brain so good? Why can’t my brain work like that?

While Sadam was still feeling agitated and frustrated, Amadeus tapped the steering wheel to remind him: "Don’t stay here any longer, let’s head back."
