The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 1952: Williansen Barness Represents the Group
"Nathalie Quinlan, how about you go up?" Wincent Sullivan came over, straightforwardly asking the girl.
Agnes Baker shared the same sentiment: "Yeah, I also think it’s more suitable for you to go up. This time we were able to complete the experiment smoothly and achieve results because of the information you organized earlier. You’re the best representative for our group!"
Williansen Barness didn’t say anything, nor did he deny their words. His clear eyes looked at Nathalie Quinlan, clearly recognizing her going up as well.
Nathalie Quinlan, however, took off her duckbill cap, put it on the table, pulled out a chair to sit down, and spoke very casually: "I just won’t go up."
"Why?" Wincent Sullivan thought she was embarrassed to go, and quickly said, "Nathalie Quinlan, don’t think too much. The three of us acknowledge your contributions this time. We just feel that you’ve taken the major part of this experiment’s results, and it makes sense for you to go up and explain on behalf of everyone. Although you’re still a rookie, our group doesn’t have so many rules; you deserve this opportunity."
Nathalie Quinlan raised her lips slightly, shook her head under their gaze, with her hand on the table, speaking concisely: "Going up would make me a target."
The three of them all looked at her.
Nathalie Quinlan did not hide it, and spoke slowly: "You should have heard that some people at The First Research Institute don’t like me. Instead of me going up, it’s better for one of you to go up."
She turned her head and suddenly looked at the quiet young man who hadn’t spoken: "Williansen, you go up later."
Agnes Baker’s personality is too flighty; she easily gets nervous in big occasions, and nervousness easily leads to mistakes.
Whereas Wincent Sullivan is quite stable, but too stable to the point of being somewhat too rigid, not quite suitable for the role of explaining on stage.
Only Williansen has a personality that falls between the two.
Nathalie Quinlan had observed him.
He doesn’t speak much usually, but his words are sharp, and his points are presented from a unique angle; he is a person of great capacity.
He typically doesn’t show off, but he can hold the stage at crucial moments.
"Me?" Williansen’s eyes showed a trace of surprise, even a hint of bewilderment, pointing at himself, completely unexpected that Nathalie Quinlan would give this opportunity to him.
"Yes, you." The girl nodded, her snow-white chin was delicate and smooth, her gaze filled with trust and encouragement.
There was a moment of silence from Williansen; he squeezed his hands, suddenly feeling a bit flustered, daring not to meet the girl’s line of sight.
Actually, when Agnes Baker proposed Nathalie Quinlan to represent their group and go up, his heart had a bit of loss and indescribable complex emotions.
But he could see that Wincent Sullivan had the same intention.
There were only four people in the group; he couldn’t go against everyone.
Besides, he knew in his heart that Nathalie Quinlan indeed held a dominant position this time, and their success was inseparable from her help.
So he suppressed the complex emotions in his heart and didn’t say anything.
"Can you go?" The girl’s voice was clear and chilly, seemingly unaware of his previous bit of unbearable jealousy inside.
Williansen looked into her eyes and felt as though she might know, and that her earlier words were intentionally giving him the opportunity.
He squeezed his hands tighter, his throat dry: "I..."
Agnes Baker slapped him on the shoulder, putting an arm around him: "Then it’s you! Williansen, you need to stand up for our team, let me hold my head high for once!"
Wincent Sullivan looked at Nathalie Quinlan sitting on the chair, then at the silent Williansen, roughly understanding as well, and joined in, punching his chest and smiling: "Then it’s settled, give it your best later."
