Compared to others tightly clumped together, they seemed like isolated little islands, with no one paying them any attention.

At this moment, the man leading the group, wearing a blue shirt with a plaid thin sweater jacket, cautiously pushed the glasses on his nose and looked towards the girl standing at the entrance of the large laboratory, asking the other two: "Looks like no one is willing to take this rookie king this time. Our group happens to be short of people, should we take her?"

Beside him was a girl, petite and cute, who shrugged her shoulders upon hearing this and said: "I don’t mind, it’s up to you guys."

The tall, thin man then looked at another person to seek his opinion: "Williansen, what do you think?"

The one called Williansen was quite young, attractive in a refined way, yet with a cold face that gave a sense of unapproachability.

Upon hearing Wincent solicit his opinion, he instinctively looked towards the laboratory entrance where the girl stood.

They were far apart, and he could only see her defiant aura, along with her snow-white, beautiful jaw. The Duckbill Cap obscured her eyes, making him feel she’s hard to mess with.

"Our group has always had only three people, and the monthly review is approaching, yet we haven’t completed a single experiment. If this continues, we’re going to be last again this month! Rather than letting that happen, we might as well bring in another person to strengthen our numbers."

Wincent was the eldest among the three, and also the most accustomed to taking care of others. He was the soul of this group.

He looked at the aloof man and continued to ask: "Williansen, what’s your thought?"

Williansen placed a reaction vessel back on the lab table, withdrew his slightly cold fingertips, and cast a cold glance at him: "We’re already isolated enough. If we add her to the group, I’m afraid the whole institute won’t even look at us."

Wincent pursed his lips, momentarily speechless.

"Besides, she seems to have offended Zevaney. You know Zevaney is the student of Mr. Garland, the head of the Level-5 laboratory, and behind her stands the Kingsleys Family... Everyone fears this, hence nobody’s willing to take her in. Otherwise, do you think that’s why that teacher has been talking for so long without anyone willing to take her...

Williansen, with his handsome yet icy face, sneered seemingly mockingly, "No one would be willing to offend one of the three great families, the Kingsleys Family, for someone without any background or backing, and not even an Inderian! Unless that person is a fool!"

After he said this, Wincent was silent for a moment, but only briefly. He became increasingly firm in his thoughts, raising his eyelids to look calmly and powerfully at those who mocked the First Research Institute’s habitual exclusionary behavior, and spoke: "...We aren’t part of the three great families either."

"..."

"Me, you, Agnes. None of us came from the power of the three great families; we were admitted to the institute just the same, and we’ve been excluded just the same. So, why should we care whether she’s an Inderian? I think we should take her."

After saying this, Wincent looked at the girl beside him, seeking her opinion: "Agnes, what do you think?"

Initially indifferent, Agnes seemed to be affected by Wincent’s words and seriously looked at the girl standing there, unwanted for a long time, yet remaining nonchalant and unaffected.

Suddenly intrigued, apricot eyes flashing with curiosity, she then withdrew her line of sight and looked at Wincent who was waiting for her answer: "Brother Wincent, I think we should."

Williansen didn’t expect even Agnes, who usually remained uninvolved, to say this, and instinctively furrowed his brow.
