The Unveiling of Secret Queen
Chapter 1916: I Hope You Won’t Regret Today’s Prejudice in the Future
"I am very careful with my words!" Violetta Hoffman sneered, refusing to yield an inch: "Every word I said is the truth. Which part did I get wrong? This is your prejudice!"
She was so agitated.
Nathan Garland didn’t want to argue with her, so he just put on a stone face and said coldly: "Nathalie Quinlan is not from Inderia. Our reluctance to accept her also has our reasons. Since the Level 1 laboratory is willing to take her, there’s no need for you to continue arguing here."
Violetta’s blood rushed to her head, and the nerves in her brain were taut.
Was he implying that it was good enough that someone from the Level 1 laboratory wanted her?
Even if it’s the Level 1 laboratory, is it also because they are graciously offering?
Seeing the tense atmosphere between the two, the head of the Level 1 laboratory intervened, mediating to separate them: "Stop arguing. It’s decided. Let her come to my laboratory. Our laboratory isn’t bad, at least there’s a laboratory to belong to..."
If Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t wanted by anyone, according to the allocation, she might end up in a place outside the laboratory and be unable to conduct experiments at all.
The head of the Level 1 laboratory couldn’t bear to see such talent wasted, so he took the risk of offending Nathan Garland to step up and act as the good guy.
Violetta kept a stern face, her peach blossom eyes glanced at the heads of the Level 4-8 laboratories once more, and suddenly she didn’t want to argue with them any longer.
She suddenly calmed down, coldly interrupted the head of the Level 1 laboratory’s words, and waved her hand: "No need."
"If you don’t want her, I will!"
Her expression was extremely indifferent, even looking somewhat provocatively at the heads of the higher-ranked laboratories, curving her lips into a cold smile: "I hope in the future, you won’t regret your decision today!"
After Violetta finished speaking, she picked up the cowhide bag containing Nathalie Quinlan’s results, flicked her hair, and left the office without looking back.
She walked with confident strides, her determined silhouette both beautiful and spirited.
The remaining laboratory heads were left in an awkward silence. After a moment, they each dispersed and returned to their own territories.
...
Zevaney Kingsley had been inquiring about the situation regarding Nathalie Quinlan’s ranking within the institute.
Right after Violetta Hoffman left without reconciliation with several key laboratory heads, Zevaney received the results of Nathalie Quinlan’s ranking.
"You mean she was assigned to the Level 3 laboratory under Violetta’s supervision?"
Zevaney initially found it hard to believe this outcome, but Jake Rabenstein confirmed: "Yes, I just got the message. Her ranking is finalized, and she’s indeed with the Level 3 laboratory. Mr. Hoffman has already started the procedural arrangements."
Nathalie Quinlan being assigned to the Level 3 laboratory was two levels below her own Level 5 laboratory.
These two levels didn’t seem much.
But in reality, everyone inside The First Research Institute knew how hard it was to climb one level up. Some people couldn’t even move up a level in ten years.
Nathalie Quinlan being two levels below her essentially equated to a gap of twenty years of hard work.
Of course, if Nathalie could become sensational in practical experiments, that would be another matter entirely.
However, practical experimentation and simulation assessments were entirely different matters. One required actual hands-on manipulation, while the other had complex steps completed by computer simulations.
The two aren’t the same concept at all!
It’s like when she completed the Level 5 simulation experiment back then, and even now, she could only conduct Level 2 experiments independently.
Nathalie Quinlan didn’t have experience in this aspect; just conducting a Level 1 experiment independently was hard enough. Without three to five years, it would be impossible to break the bottleneck.
Zevaney felt a mix of emotions for a moment, holding her phone, she softly said: "With her results, I thought the Level 6-8 laboratories would have taken her."
