Su Ran hooked her lips and continued, "I don’t think it’s necessary anymore. The Nan family heir dispute is already settled, and the Nan family has completely abandoned Nan Jiaying. So even if President Chu manages to protect her now, it’s pointless."

"Is President Chu threatening me?"

Chu Xiyao let out a cold laugh. "No, I’m just kindly reminding you."

Su Ran laughed lowly, her tone utterly nonchalant. "Many thanks for President Chu’s kindness. It’s just that I’ve always been the type to follow my whims and do as I please. Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t understand how the world works—I’m simply sticking to the matter at hand."

Chu Xiyao’s face darkened, the veins on her forehead faintly throbbing, the lines of her face turning hard and sharp.

Though she forced herself to control the anger surging in her chest, her voice inevitably carried a sharpness it usually didn’t. "President Su, you’re a bit too confident. Are you so sure the Fashion Association can beat CE? Or has President Su never heard of CE’s legal department?"
