Chapter 55 - 138 (3)
Following Incus, I stood by the doorway.
She stood in front of a target from a bit of a distance away. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
In her hand was a different bow than the one she used.
It seems that she found a new one.
Summoning an arrow, she grabbed it with her mouth, and placed it on the bow.
Using her teeth, she drew back the bow.
When she launched it, the arrow had completely missed.
Lieur kept attempting to draw and fire her bow but there was either not enough strength in her pulling of the string or the trajectory of her aim was completely off course.
Gritting her teeth, she slammed the bow into the ground, breaking it.
Pausing for a moment, she then stomped on the bow.
Pulling out her foldable crossbow, she drew an arrow with a single hand and shot at the target.
It had hit it’s target, but it seems that Lieur was disappointed.
"It’s not fast enough..!" She then broke the crossbow and began slamming her head at the ground.
Grabbing her by the forehead, I stopped her before she could continue.
"Lieur, that’s enough."
Pointing her eyes to face towards my, she glanced back too the ground.
"I’m useless captain... my arm is gone and I can’t draw my bow. Even if I used a crossbow or anything else, I won’t be fast enough to reload and follow up my attacks." Lieur then began sniffling, her tears fell on the ground.
Biting my lip, I patted her on the back.
"You’re not useless." What am I saying, of course she is... she’s going to be hold us back now.
"Don’t fill my head with lies captain, I am! you’ll just abandon me!" Lieur tried to push me away but I held her firmly.
"You’re not, and I won’t do such a thing." Stop lying to yourself, you want to leave her. She’s nothing but cannon fodder, a weight on our backs!
Putting my hand over where her arm would’ve been if it hadn’t been pulverized, Lieur looked at me with a confused look.
"Dragon scales armor, turn into an arm for her."
Flying in the air, scales began forming into an arm.
Soon, it had been completed, a jet black arm formed from scales had appeared.
"Captain, you shouldn’t... your dragon scales armor has shrunken in half!"
Slapping her, I gritted my teeth.
"Shut up. I won’t leave anyone, I won’t leave a companion." Who do I think I am, I’m not some kind of hero.
"A road can’t be build with one stone." I turned my back before continuing:
"Don’t wallow up in pain, I’m your captain after all so if you have anything corrupting your mind then tell me. Don’t live in the past but grow in the present, if you feel unworthy of the dragon scales arm then make yourself worthy."
With the moonlit night shining behind me, I walked back towards the inn.
Immediately, I couldn’t help but notice the scurrying of steps.
Dashing back inside, it looks like everyone was asleep.
Leaning over Vertere, I breathed with heavy labor... but received no reaction.
I did the same with everyone else but yet again no reaction.
"I know your awake, if you confess now I won’t get mad."
As Ulna twitched, Alleus rolled over and smacked her in the face.
After a few moments in silence, I laid on the ground.

With a new bow in Lieur’s hand, I asked:
"Where do you keep getting those?"
"I just picked it off the ground, did you not notice the stuff laying everywhere?" Lieur scoffed.
Looking around, I noticed that there indeed was just weapons laying all over the place.
Pulling back her bow, Incus fired.
The arrow had broken a practice target.
Forming a fist with the dragon scales arm, she smiled softly.
"I will make sure to put this to good use captain."
Smiling right back at her, I replied:
"I’m sure you will."
Staring at Vertere until he noticed me, I gestured for him to come forward.
Walking towards me swaying from side to side, he asked:
"What is it you rotten bastard."
Smacking him in the head, I cleared my throat.
"You’ll be gauging our newest member’s ability in combat, we didn’t get to do it yesterday so we’ll do it now."
Commanding the dragon scales armor to pull Ulna towards me, I pushed her off to the side.
"S-sir, is there something you need? You could’ve just called for me y’know." She shifted her weight.
"You should know why I called you here." Pointing at Vertere, I gladly proclaimed:
"You will be battling our water mage, the noble abandoned talent of the sword clan... the great patronizer!"
"Stop calling me names!" Vertere stomped on the ground.
Jumping back, I clapped my hands."Start."
"I haven’t even pulled out my wand you rotten—!" Interrupting Vertere, Ulna had shot out a wind spell.
Pulling out his wand, Vertere swiped his wand.
"Water jet times ten!"
Condense streams of water shot out.
Running and maneuvering out of the way, Ulna jumped in the sky.
"Piercing tornado!" A vortex was then formed, and blasted towards Vertere.
"Ice dome!" A sphere like wall made of ice blocked the attack, pointing his wand he spat:
"Raging tide of ice!" A wave of ice that got bigger the further it got away from Vertere shot up from the ground.
"Carving wind!" A spiraling strong cutting gale destroyed the ice.
The both of them continued their battle, ice and water was shot out by Vertere and immense destroying wind had been shot out by Ulna.
With heavy breathing coming from both sides, Vertere raised his hands.
"I forfeit, you clearly have an edge over me in terms of mana capacity and mana control." Walking off the training ground, he went to take a drink.
"Sir, have I’ve proven myself?"
Laughing, I answered:
"You have, just make sure it doesn’t make you cocky."
Suddenly Ulna’s face pale.
Turning around, Incus stood in front of us.
