Chapter 906 - 427: The Cause of Lin Li’s Death in His Previous Life Found (Part 2)
"Understood, Master." Liu Feng shrunk his neck.
The lunch break quietly slipped away.
In the remaining time, the three of them worked seriously.
While working, Lin Li didn't stir up any trouble, completely following Zheng Hong's instructions. However, from the perspective of system tasks, he mentioned his concerns about pest issues a few more times, urging Zheng Hong to consider them seriously.
Zheng Hong didn't smoke another cigarette. Whenever he felt the urge, he would place mint powder on the webbing between his thumb and index finger, press one nostril, and inhale through the other.
This is still comforting!
Just kidding.
Zheng Hong stopped smoking simply because his cigarettes were confiscated by Lin Li and never returned. So even if he left Lin Li's sight, it was useless; he was resigned.
"The white dove of the chapel won't kiss a crow~~" Zheng Hong's pocket phone rang, not a call but an alarm.
"The old eighth of Ceshou won't go home on an empty stomach~~" Lin Li couldn't help but sing along.
Thank you, Lin Li, Zheng Hong decided to change his alarm ringtone as soon as he got home.
Turning off the alarm that reminded him of the time, Zheng Hong got up and compared the confirmed list of materials, doing the final check.
"Okay, the replacement parts and components have been confirmed. If the cleaning isn't finished, it's the same to continue tomorrow." After confirming everything was fine, Zheng Hong looked at Lin Li: "Lin Li, stand by the door first, we're about to restore the power."
"Alright." Lin Li nodded and immediately headed for the door.
"Thank you for your hard work."
"It wasn't hard work. If I wasn't here, maybe Master Zheng and Brother Liu would have been even more efficient." Lin Li said politely.
Damn, Zheng Hong didn't deny it.
With Liu Feng's assistance, following a 'click' sound, a red light appeared on the distant electric meter.
[Task Three Completed.]
[You have received a reward: Physical Improvement: Spiritual Qi absorption speed increased by 100%; System Currency*50]
[Today many choose to disregard the prohibition of Carefree Powder. However, without rules, nothing can be accomplished. Carefree Powder is harmful to surrounding cultivators and should not be indulged or tolerated; it must be strictly rectified, imperatively!]
[Task Triggered!]
[Task Three: Directly advise cultivators who choose to consume Carefree Powder in prohibited areas one hundred times (0/100)]
[Task Reward: Physical Improvement: Spiritual Qi absorption speed increased by 300%; Random Pills*1; System Currency*100]
The previous Task Three just ended, and a new task seamlessly took over, seems like it's a series of tasks?
This task doesn't have a title reward, so there might be another task coming. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But for now, it's not necessary to think about these things.
As for this task, the requirements are straightforward: advise people against smoking in prohibited areas a hundred times.
As long as I advise them? Can I catch someone and advise them a hundred times within a minute?
Overall, it seems like it's not too difficult a task. Even if you can't game the system, spending a bit of time should suffice.
"That's it." Zheng Hong and Liu Feng finished tidying up and walked out of the power distribution room.
Before closing the door, Zheng Hong asked Lin Li and Liu Feng, "Did you guys leave anything behind? Once this door is locked, you'll have to contact people from your school to open it again."
Once both shook their heads, Zheng Hong closed the door.
Afterward, Zheng Hong looked expectantly at Lin Li.
Lin Li naturally knew what Zheng Hong was yearning for, took out cigarettes and a lighter from his pocket, and returned them to Zheng Hong but also reminded:
"Here you go, but Master Zheng, smoking isn't allowed on campus; you'll have to go outside the school gates to smoke."
"I understand, Lin Li." Zheng Hong nodded confidently, took the cigarette and jokingly said to Lin Li: "You can head back to class; I have to go to your school's logistics office with Liu and sort the list and price table. Thanks for your help this afternoon."
"Alright, then Master Zheng, Brother Liu, see you tomorrow at noon." This part probably has nothing to do with my sect's array task, so Lin Li nodded, bid farewell, and headed for the stairs, disappearing around the corner.
"Let's go, Master, to the logistics office." Liu Feng said to Zheng Hong.
"We'll go later. I first need to light a mosquito coil in the bathroom; can't stand it anymore."
Zheng Hong waved his hand, tapped the bottom of the cigarette carton in his hand, caught a cigarette in his mouth, but wasn't bold enough to openly smoke, and quickly walked towards the bathroom, leaving his apprentice behind.
Liu Feng saw this and shook his head, somewhat helplessly but said nothing.
"Living is all for a puff of smoke~"
Zheng Hong hummed a tune as he walked into the dimly lit men's restroom. For some reason, though it had power, the lights were off.
But Zheng Hong didn't mind, walked in, and the lighter clicked to life.
The lighter not only lit up the cigarette but also illuminated Lin Li's face, resembling a ghost.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Damn! Damn! Damn!!!!!!!!!"
It was only midday, and even though the lights weren't on, there was sunlight coming through the windows. But Lin Li was hiding in the inner part of the restroom, suddenly stepping in front of Zheng Hong when he flicked the lighter.
So the unprepared Zheng Hong was not only startled into dropping both the cigarette and lighter but almost stumbled to the ground, leaning against the tiled wall outside the restroom, screaming in fright.
After recognizing who was in front of him, Zheng Hong tremblingly pointed at Lin Li: "Lin Li?"
Lin Li shook his head: "I'm not Lin Li; I'm the school's ghost who died of secondhand smoke while using the toilet."
Zheng Hong: "..."
Your mom.
Damn.
"Stop it! That really scared me," Zheng Hong still felt shaken but was even more puzzled: "Lin Li, weren't you upstairs?"
Lin Li stopped pretending to be supernatural, but instead proudly said: "I anticipated you might ignore my warning, so I didn't go upstairs. I circled around outside, climbed through the window into the bathroom, and was waiting for you."
