Mingchong gave Xiang Zhen a look and took a step back, standing beside Ye Jiuliang.

Ye Jiuliang glanced in the direction of the Ye Family patriarch and finally, her gaze landed on Xiang Zhen.

In a cold voice, she asked, "Where is the witness?"

"Ye Jiuliang, stop playing innocent here," Xiang Zhen insisted it was Ye Jiuliang who had caused harm to her son, almost ready to take matters into her own hands.

"Ye Xin, call Ye Rui and Zhao Yi here," she directed.

Ye Xin took out her phone and made the call right in front of them.

While she was making the call, Mingchong turned to the Ye Family patriarch and said in a soft voice, "Mr. Ye, I have another matter to attend to today. Please return my sister’s spiritual tablet to the Ming Family."

At these words, everyone was astounded.

It was the first time they’d heard of someone coming to reclaim a spiritual tablet.

"Mingchong, don’t be so impulsive with your words. Whatever it is, we can discuss it," the Ye Family patriarch came back to his senses and attempted to smooth things over.
