The Lady of the Prestigious Family is a Big Boss
Chapter 241, Little Bastard, Missed Me to Death (Fourth Update)
"Madam is even more beautiful than in the photos," Wei Xi said out of the blue, "And quite daring, to actually come here alone so late at night."
Wei Nan gave him a sidelong glance. Was this really the time to discuss whether or not she was beautiful? Couldn’t this guy focus on what was important?
Upstairs, the wall lamp emitted a soft glow.
Jiuliang tiptoed and carefully pushed the door open with her hand.
The light from the hallway spilled in, briefly illuminating the bedroom before it plunged back into darkness.
Jiuliang groped her way into the room in the dark. She had just set down her backpack when a slight noise still managed to awaken the person in the bed.
"Who’s there?"
The low, husky voice was cold and heavy, carrying an edge of hostility.
Ignoring the dark muzzle of the gun, Jiuliang walked towards the bedside.
Suddenly, the wall lamp turned on, revealing the woman’s pale, delicate face in the light. The frost in Mohan’s eyes melted away in an instant. He casually tossed aside the gun and was about to get out of bed when Jiuliang stopped him.
"Don’t move, or I’ll leave."
At those words, Mohan’s long legs froze, and he gazed tenderly at the figure moving towards him.
As she approached the bed, Mohan eagerly grabbed her hand, his crimson lips breaking into a brilliant smile.
Jiuliang fell into his embrace, and before she could speak, he buried his head in her neck, nuzzling there.
"You little brat, I’ve been dying without you." He greedily inhaled her faint scent as the hand around her waist tightened.
"When did you get here, and why didn’t you tell me?"
Not seeing her for just a few days felt like months to him, especially at night when the empty bedroom made him restless.
Jiuliang hooked her lips into a smile. "If I hadn’t come, how would I know that someone is sick but refuses to take medicine and rest properly? Mohan, are you doing this on purpose?"
"If I’d known that catching a cold would make you come back to me, I should have gotten sick sooner," Mohan said, holding her tight, his eyebrows and eyes softened with warmth.
"What nonsense are you spouting? Has your brain fried?" Jiuliang said irritably. What was that about getting sick sooner, this fool.
She pushed against him. "If you don’t let go, I’m going to suffocate here."
Hearing this, Mohan’s arms relaxed slightly, but they remained wrapped around her waist.
Jiuliang reached up to touch his forehead—it was still slightly feverish.
Her gaze fell on his face, with its sharp and handsome features now unnaturally pale, and his deep black eyes bloodshot with the clear signs of lack of rest in recent days.
Jiuliang frowned with a mix of distress and annoyance. "You’re still acting tough with a high fever. Mohan, are you asking for a beating?"
"Don’t be mad, my little wolf cub." Mohan reached out to pinch her cheek, his lips curling into an indulgent smile.
"It’s just a minor cold. It’ll be over soon. Don’t worry."
Jiuliang glared at him. "Since it’s just a minor cold and will get better soon, I won’t worry then. I’ll be leaving now."
As she spoke, she pulled his hands away and made a move to get up and leave. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
After anxiously waiting and wishing for her return, of course Mohan wasn’t about to let her go.
He hastily embraced her, holding her tightly in his arms, "Don’t you dare leave."
Jiuliang gave him a sidelong glance. "I thought it was just a minor cold and nothing serious?"
"It is serious," Mohan quickly changed his tune, his head rubbing against her cheek, his deep voice slightly hoarse, "I have a headache, and it’s painful."
Jiuliang couldn’t help but laugh at him, and then she began to settle scores, "What happened to eating meals on time as you promised, was that just feeding the dogs?"
Mohan cocked his head, his lips close to her ear, "Without you here, I just don’t have an appetite."
