When Xiaohou saw someone join in, he rejoiced inwardly. He could earn a commission from this betting, so he spared no effort to introduce it to everyone, hoping to get a bit more commission.

Big bets or small bets are both fine, it’s all personal choice, mainly it’s just a way to try one’s luck.

After the introduction, Duan Xin immediately expressed his desire to bet. Just as he was about to take out his money, he heard Duan Xi ask Xiaohou, "Can I still register now?"

Duan Xi noticed Lu Xian’s name among the race participants and asked ambiguously.

"You can, but..." Seeing Duan Xi’s extraordinary demeanor and strong presence, he carefully chose his words and gently advised, "These racers are professionals, including Brother Xian. They’re veterans. Have you ever raced before? If not, it’s recommended to get professional guidance and practice for a while."

The racetrack is halfway up the mountain, which only increases the difficulty for professional racers. But for beginners, or those who’ve never raced before, it’s a place that can lead to fatal consequences. That’s why Xiaohou advised so earnestly.

"No," Duan Xi replied, glancing at the registration forms nearby, "Give me one registration form..."

"Brother Xi!"

"Xiaoxi!"

"Stop fooling around!"

Ruan Jiaojiao, Duan Xin, and Ruan Chi simultaneously voiced their disapproval.

Ruan Jiaojiao anxiously pulled on Duan Xi: "Brother Xi, we’re just here to have fun."

"Exactly, Xiaoxi, this isn’t a joke. You haven’t raced before, it’s too dangerous. We’re just here to watch; don’t put yourself in harm’s way," Duan Xin agreed.

"Don’t make Jiaojiao worry," Ruan Chi added, full of disapproval, assuming Duan Xi was acting impulsively, provoked by Lu Xian.

"Racing requires a death waiver, are you not afraid to die?" Lu Xian emerged wearing a dark red racing suit, looking both handsome and cool, but no one paid attention as everyone was focused on Duan Xi’s sudden decision to race.

Ruan Feng and Ruan Lei also tried hard to dissuade him, even Lu Zishu earnestly advised, "Brother Xi, my brother is right. He’s been racing for years. He started in his first year at university here in Beidu, and now it’s been four years. He only started competing last year; he’s a true veteran. You’ve never raced, you can’t compare."

But as soon as he offered this advice, he was immediately glared at by everyone.

Ruan Jiaojiao was so angry she kicked him directly. What’s he doing adding to the mess! She knew better than anyone how competitive Duan Xi was; saying he couldn’t compare was like directly pushing him onto the racetrack.

And hearing this "can’t compare," sure enough, Duan Xi’s expression changed, and his already firm resolve now became even more unyielding.

He walked up to Lu Xian, meeting his provocative gaze, and sneered, "If I were afraid to die, I wouldn’t be here today."

Their gazes locked, and even though they weren’t speaking, everyone could seemingly feel the sparks cracking around them.

Everyone looked at one another, a mix of surprise and contemplation in their eyes.

Ruan Jiaojiao was so anxious she almost hopped on her feet, pulling on Duan Xi’s arm, nearly in tears.

Although Duan Xi didn’t like the racing suit Lu Xian prepared for her, he was even less willing for her to wear someone else’s suit. Initially, he didn’t plan to race, but now that someone had provoked him directly, retreating was absolutely not an option.

He took the racing suit from Lu Xian’s hand, then led the red-eyed Ruan Jiaojiao to the dressing room. After ensuring no one was inside, he locked the door and hugged her to comfort her.
