A few people dragged their weary bodies back home.

Han Mei didn’t go back to her own home either, instead, she followed Li Qing back.

"Qingzi, come here with me for a moment."

After watching Wu Xingxing tidy up and enter the bathroom, Han Mei whispered to Li Qing.

Li Qing’s face lit up with joy, and he quickly stepped forward to wrap his arms around Han Mei’s delicate and charming body.

Han Mei’s face flushed with annoyance, swatting away Li Qing’s hand, "Stop fidgeting, Xingxing is at home."

"She seems to already know, it’s fine, sister-in-law." Li Qing said with a naughty smile, his hands once again restlessly encircling Han Mei’s soft, slender waist, "Sister-in-law, I’ve missed you so much, just let me hold you."

Han Mei glared at Li Qing displeasedly, letting him hold her like that, and whispered, "Knowing by herself and you guys talking it out in the open are two different things. Actually, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about. Haven’t you guys, you know... done it yet?"

Li Qing pretended not to understand and asked, "Sister-in-law, what do you mean by ’it’?"

With a sly glint in her eye, Han Mei glanced sideways at Li Qing, "You just want to hear the word ’it’, don’t you?"

Li Qing chuckled, "You really get me, sister-in-law!"

"Not serious for a moment, have you or haven’t you?" Han Mei stared at Li Qing, asking again.

Li Qing shook his head, "There were several opportunities, and she seemed willing, but I didn’t dare!"

"I’m afraid she won’t accept you guys, and I don’t dare lay a finger on her until those words are spoken."

Han Mei looked at Li Qing gently, nodding lightly, "Your considerations are right."

"But you can’t drag on this matter any longer. It’s not okay to keep going on like this. If there’s anything you’re uncomfortable talking about, I can speak up. Maybe it would be easier for us to talk about it."

After thinking it over, Li Qing still shook his head, "Sister-in-law, I should be the one to talk."

"If you are the one to speak, naturally that would be best." Han Mei broke free from Li Qing’s embrace, "But this matter really can’t be delayed any longer. I’ve seen Xingxing looking down these past few days, oftentimes daydreaming alone. I’m afraid it’s because of this."

"I’ll head back first. Once you’ve cleared things up with Xingxing, let me know."

Li Qing nodded, then grabbed Han Mei again, "Sister-in-law, can’t you stay tonight? I miss you!"

"We have plenty of time. Spend some proper time with Xingxing tonight, and... come over tomorrow night when you find the time," said Han Mei, bashfully.

"Sister-in-law, we also have time tonight," Li Qing whined smoothly.

"Be good, sister-in-law will keep you company tomorrow night," Han Mei said, her expression a mix of amusement and frustration.

Although Li Qing now had a considerable family business, he was still like a child in front of her.

In fact, Han Mei quite liked Li Qing’s childlike demeanor.

Seeing that acting spoiled was no use, Li Qing had to comply with Han Mei’s wishes, and sent her home with a flashlight in hand.

When he returned, Wu Xingxing had finished her bath and was sitting in the living room, applying something to her soft, long hair.

Li Qing nodded, "What are you applying?"

"Conditioner. My hair is too dry, just giving it a bit of care," Wu Xingxing said.

"Oh, actually, I think you don’t need to use these, the Immortality Elixir should work better than that," Li Qing remarked.

Wu Xingxing, smiling cheerily, said, "The Immortality Elixir really works. My hair used to be so dry, but after taking the Elixir you gave me, the effect was visibly evident. I now dare not use too much makeup on my face, afraid to ruin the effect produced by the Immortality Elixir."

"The effect of that Elixir should indeed be pretty good," Li Qing agreed.

"Exactly, it’s really magical," Wu Xingxing swiftly glanced at Li Qing and said.

Li Qing responded faintly, truly at a loss for words.

The two had been making awkward small talk, but then suddenly fell silent.

Li Qing looked up and said, "What is it?"

"How could that be? How could I possibly be avoiding you!" Li Qing immediately protested, his voice rising instantly.

Wu Xingxing, seeming lost, weakly said while fiddling with her hair, "But that’s just the way I feel." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"You should know my feelings by now, but you keep finding this and that excuse, deliberately avoiding me."

Li Qing had to admit, a woman’s intuition is truly terrifying.

During that previous period, he truly didn’t know how to broach certain matters with Wu Xingxing, and was indeed avoiding her.

He hadn’t expected her to have sensed it.

"Don’t think too much, I wasn’t avoiding you, it’s just that there are some things I don’t know how to say to you," Li Qing stated earnestly.

His sister-in-law was right; this matter couldn’t be dragged on any further.

No matter what Wu Xingxing’s attitude was, those things, he had to be honest and open with Wu Xingxing about them.

But before Li Qing could speak, Wu Xingxing took the lead, "Are you talking about the matter with sister-in-law, Yue’er, and my godmother?"

Li Qing nodded awkwardly, "If you can’t accept these things, and if I were truly that way with you, it would only hurt you. Not knowing how to talk to you about these matters, I also dared not make any moves toward you."

"Do you like me then?" Wu Xingxing asked, her innocent face lifted and her voice firm.

"Like!" Li Qing replied very straightforwardly.

"You’re the girl who captured my heart at first sight, and it’s precisely because I like you that I dare not treat you like I do the others!"

Wu Xingxing’s cheeks blushed slightly, and she said softly with tender affection in her eyes, "Qingzi, your words are enough for me."

"I’ve told you before, compared to sister-in-law and Yue’er, I am indeed a later comer, and I am willing to accept all of this."

"Although the feeling of sharing a man with others is indeed not very pleasant, I like you."

Li Qing sat down beside Wu Xingxing, "I do need to say sorry to you. I don’t have more sweet nothings to offer, but I will make sure you have a good life."

"I am already living a good life!" Wu Xingxing said with a beaming smile.

"If life isn’t good right now, then I really am doing something wrong."
