Although expensive to use, Golden Steps would be extremely useful in combat, and the space ring also had its value, since five hundred cubic meters was a considerable amount of space, comparable to a small warehouse.
Ethan did have the system’s inventory, but it worked very differently. Mission and summoning items were stored there automatically; however, once removed, no item could be put back in.
It functioned more like a temporary, unlimited warehouse from which he could only retrieve items, never add new ones.
The spatial ring had no such restrictions. He could store whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.
Items inside wouldn’t suffer from corrosion over time. Even food would remain fresh indefinitely.
Ethan slipped the simple, silver-colored ring onto the ring finger of his right hand, alongside the golden lord’s ring. The blood emperor’s ring occupied his index finger.
Immediately, a connection formed in his mind, similar to his link with the system’s inventory.
He picked up the blade of the Fallen Moon from his bedside and directed it toward the spatial ring.
The blade vanished from his hands in the blink of an eye, then reappeared a moment later with a faint glow.
A truly marvelous tool.
Smiling, he turned his attention to the movement skill. A book with a golden cover materialized in his hands.
Unlike the lost Crimson Blade technique, which transferred usage information directly into the practitioner’s mind, this one required study. Mastering it meant reading the manual left by its creator first.
The book was relatively thin, only about forty pages, even fewer than the Burning Blood body enhancement technique.
That didn’t make him unhappy. The simpler, the easier to learn.
Sitting back down on his bed, he began to read, memorizing the mental forms and aura manipulation formulas required for each stage of activation.
He didn’t spend long. After committing the basic fundamentals to memory, he closed the book and stood up.
His footsteps echoed lonely through empty corridors as he walked through the new mansion.
In functionality, it was inferior to his father’s residence. The Darkwall family mansion served as both a luxurious home and an impenetrable fortress.
But in beauty, the two were hard to even compare.
After passing dozens of doors, Ethan stopped beside one that had caught his attention earlier but which he hadn’t yet had time to explore.
The mansion’s library.
Not just his room, but every room came perfectly furnished, wardrobes full of new, unworn clothes.
The kitchen was stocked with utensils, and even the armory was filled with weapons and armor, an unexpected bonus.
The library should be the same, right?
Given the importance of a Sword Lord, there were likely many books of ancient knowledge inside.
With a broad smile, Ethan stepped into the room.
His eyes immediately fell upon a figure sitting elegantly at one of the tables.
Alice.
Her gaze was bored yet focused, a sweet, soft hum escaping her lips as she calmly read from a book.
Several other books lay scattered around the table, all dealing with magic and mana manipulation.
The book in question was the grimoire of the Brown Tower’s leader, now her personal spellbook.
She had had it in her hands for quite some time, reading it daily. Strangely, the number of pages never seemed to decrease, as if new ones were being created out of thin air.
She had flipped through more than twenty-two thousand pages before finally reaching a blank one.
That left her both impressed and amazed in equal measure. It was essentially an infinite book, with space for her to record her own discoveries in the future.
She was so absorbed in her reading that she didn’t notice the figure approaching from behind.
Not until a pair of strong hands firmly gripped her delicate waist.
"H-husband!" she exclaimed as she was lifted into the air.
Ethan had already sat down on the bench, and in one smooth motion, he pulled her onto his lap.
Her full, shapely ass landed on his thighs with a soft smack, the plump flesh flattening against him under her own weight.
"Nghnn~~ Did it have to be that rough?" she asked, shifting her hips on his lap.
"I was just giving you a surprise." He smiled, leaning over her and planting a kiss on her neck.
One hand slid over one of her large, pale tits, fingers sinking deep into the supple flesh as he squeezed possessively.
The soft flesh overflowed between his fingers, too much to be held in a single hand, its warm, heavy weight pressing into his palm as the soft skin bulged around his grip.
"How about we go hunt some goblins around Goldenveil? Me, you, and Evelyn."
Ethan flashed a gentle smile as he spoke.
He and Evelyn were already at level 56, while Alice sat at level 59 and Mireya at level 60.
He would need to complete his advancement quest first, but Alice and Evelyn could advance normally, while Mireya would only need a few more souls to progress.
Given the girls’ talent, they likely wouldn’t have any trouble advancing. And he was confident he could complete any infernal-level quest the system threw at him.
In other words, Goldenveil was just one step away from having four third-stage Awakened defending her.
Doran had also already passed level fifty and hunted goblins daily, so it wouldn’t be long before he reached level sixty. Although, with his talent, a successful advancement was highly unlikely.
After a brief moment of thought, Ethan sighed, watching Alice’s eyes sparkle.
Going hunting with her beloved husband and her best friend? Of course she wanted to!
