THE GOD EATER
Chapter 479: My Turn.
A single sweep of his Cave Heaven would crush everything and everyone in the city, and a single bite with Fenrir would devour the city whole. It would all be so easy to do.
But he didn’t take the easy route. This is because his goal is not to destroy the city. Destroying the city will come later when he wants to see how much the city will taste and how much he will gain from eating a city.
For now, though, his goal is to draw a certain golden divine being out. In order to achieve this goal, he can’t appear himself or the target will be too wary and will run away.
As a divine being himself, he knows the value of lifespan and can imagine just how cautious someone with 10 years’ worth of lifespan left will be. A divine being like that will only be capable of one attack, so they won’t want to get into a fight with another divine being.
If he were the golden divine being, he would run away at the slightest appearance of danger. This is why he has decided not to appear, and instead sent someone whom the golden divine being should be able to handle without using up his limited lifespan.
With the plan already in place, he stood back to watch. He stayed hidden in that room while his perception spread throughout the city.
He is sure that the golden divine being will find him as soon as they arrive, since he currently doesn’t have the means to hide from other divine beings. But that is a problem that he will have to deal with in the future, and he already had a plan for it, so he didn’t worry about it for now.
While he was pretending to hide, Rusty was dealing massive damage to the city. He was still a rank 4 cultivator, but his Dragon Heart Power Core made him more powerful than rank 5 cultivators. So no one could stand in his way.
Many rank 4 cultivators showed up only to be swiftly dispatched by Rusty. Then, a rank 5 cultivator came. Rusty killed that rank 5, too.
When one rank 5 cultivator didn’t solve the problem, they sent two rank 5 cultivators. But this still failed to stop Rusty. He was still killing and destroying everything around him like he was ordered to do. So the Thorn House of Commerce reached its limit and decided to send the big guns.
Loki was looking forward to the moment his prey would appear when he received notifications from the sect letting him know that he would have to pay for all of the death and destruction that Rusty was creating.
These notifications made him look at his token with mirth. He didn’t plan to pay the money, but he wanted to see how the sect had decided to take advantage of him now and laugh at it.
He was looking at the notifications when he saw the notification for Rusty’s death and how much he would have to pay for killing Rusty.
This notification enlightened him and made him say, "So the sect believes that Rusty is dead. No wonder they consider everything he is doing as my fault."
He was mulling over this when he suddenly felt a faint vibration in the barriers of space. The faint vibrations combined with his Insight Stat to help him determine that someone was about to tear a barrier of space in his vicinity.
This thought flashed through his mind just as the tear in space appeared, and a crashing sound of glass breaking was heard. Then, an annoyed and irritated golden divine being stepped through the tear in space.
But just as the golden divine being appeared, he sensed the presence of another divine being nearby. He didn’t even hesitate to escape before rushing away.
The golden divine being immediately stepped back into the tearing space. But Loki was already nearby and had grabbed his arm.
Loki smiled and said, "Don’t be scared. I’ve only come to talk. I have no ill intent towards you."
Of course, he was lying. What he was doing was stalling for time while the Siphon Ability went to work on the golden divine being.
But even if he was speaking the truth about having no ill intentions, the golden divine being wasn’t going to believe him. And now that the golden divine being felt himself lose lifespan inexplicably, he didn’t hesitate at all.
The golden divine being immediately activated his Gold Body Metac and used it to empower his body before he struck Loki with a punch to the face.
His fist landed on Loki’s face with so much force that the explosion created by the collision of his fist and Loki’s force destroyed a third of the city beneath them.
Unfortunately for him, Loki’s hand didn’t leave his arm. Loki was still holding on with a strong grip. This was despite the fact that he had attacked Loki with a power of 6(Cultivation Rank) × 6(Stat) × 6(Divine Metac) × 100,000(Cave Heaven) × 6(Law Fragments), which is 129.6 units of divine power.
And when he looked at Loki’s face, he saw that Loki was still smiling. It can therefore be said that his attack had failed completely.
While smiling, Loki said, "My turn."
Then he struck back with the power of the Vengeful Bones Metac.
He had defended earlier with the 6(Cultivation Rank) × 6(Stat) × 6(Divine Metac) × 87,381,333(Cave Heaven) × 2(Law Fragments), which is 37,748.7 units of divine power.
But now that he was retaliating, he attacked with the power of 37,748.7 + 129.6 units of divine power, which is 37,878.3 units. This power is 292 times greater than whatever power the golden divine being could muster. So when Loki’s fist struck him, his golden divine body was shattered and scattered into the wind as chunks of molten gold.
After the power of the attack shattered the body of the enemy, the residual power of the attack caused the air to explode into a tsunami of force that swept through the city below. This tsunami directly leveled half of the city into rubble.
