Chapter 182: Your Plan Is Too Dumb

"I don’t mind going to Director Wyatt to talk to him about this."

"Really?" Jason raised a brow but before he could say anything further, Shawn spoke again.

"Mind you, this has nothing to do with the collaboration. I sincerely want my wife back. I don’t mind if she has been with another man or had children with him, I still love her."

"About my father’s condition, there was a clause in it, but I didn’t get to say it.

"What is the clause?"

The clause is that if you can’t divorce her you must ensure you win her heart within the space of one month.

His jaw went slack and for a moment he didn’t know what to make of the challenging look in those amber colored eyes staring at him.

Does every member of this family have a special habit of always putting his heart on a roller coaster?

If not for his internal strength, he is sure he would die of a heart attack one of these days. His only prayer is that he dies in the laps of the one person in the family he truly loves.

"Why did it take you so long to come up with that part?"

"That’s because I wanted to know if you were worthy of that part?" There was also an unspoken part of that statement which seemed to say, "and I think you are now qualified."

Shawn shook his head and got up without warning. "I think I’m done with you for today."

"Hey! What do you mean? You are yet to give me an answer."

Shawn’s arrogant attitude had returned and he was the complete opposite of the person entreating Jason a few seconds back. "Quit playing dumb. You know the answer already."

"But I still need to hear it," Jason insisted.

He has never seen such a two faced man before. One minute he was acting all remorseful and the very next like he owned the whole world.

Shawn strode to the door and just before opening it he said over his shoulder. "I will win back her trust in a month."

"Let me see how you go about that." Jason spat back at an empty room after Shawn had closed the door behind him.

Somewhere in the kindergarten, Elvis and Eleanor sat at their usual spot engaged in a heated discussion.

Eleanor could not hide the excitement in her voice as she held her brother’s arms. "You mean that superbly handsome uncle we saw that day on the news is actually our father."

"Yes," Elvis replied perfunctorily. He was still surprised at Eleanor’s reaction.

What was there to be excited about in a man who did not even know that his children existed? Now he has been saddled with the huge responsibility of finding out things about him that he ought to have known naturally as his child.

As for being superbly handsome according to his naive sister, he was sure he was way more handsome than that man. All he needed to do was grow up and nobody would be confused about who was more handsome.

"Instead of getting lost in his looks, why not use your head in strategizing on how to track down "your" father?"

"He is also your father," Eleanor pointed out. "So you also need to strategize."

"Is that not why we are here? We need to come up with a fool proof plan that will not alert mummy."

They have known that their mom didn’t like their father, but she kept on saying things that will make them not hate him.

On the other hand they also realized that she didn’t want them to have anything to do with him, and that is why she had kept them away from him for this long.

So they have decided to get to know what kind of man he was and decide for themselves how best to relate with him. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"What should we do?" Eleanor asked.

"Maybe you should stop asking so many questions and think as well. Who knows what you will come up with."

There was silence and not long after, Eleanor’s voice sounded again. "I have an idea."

Elvis, who had a thoughtful look, turned his head in her direction. That was too fast. How does she manage to always think so fast?

"Let’s hear it."

Eleanor cleared her throat and looked dramatic as she started, "Maybe you should lure the driver out towards dad’s company then I will faint in front of the building."

"But I’m scared of one thing. Will they give me a jab from the needle?"

Contrary to the comfort Eleanor expected to hear from her loving brother, she got a bombshell. "Your plan is too dumb."

"How can you say that, brother?" Eleanor’s voice was full of grievance. "You couldn’t even come up with one yourself, yet you are saying that my plan is too dumb."

She placed her two small hands on her waist as she glared at Elvis. "Why do you think my plan is dumb?"

"Calm down. You don’t have to be so dramatic like someone warming up for a fight." Elvis said unhurriedly as he saw how his sister’s pretty face had turned red with anger.

"I said your plan was dumb because, as soon as you faint in that man’s company, mother’s body guards that are always hiding in the shadows will pick you up immediately and in no time, mother will get to know about it before we get that man’s attention.

At that time, you will have no choice but to take a jab from that needle that you are always afraid of, or open up to mummy about everything."

Eleanor fringed at the thought of an injection and instantly discarded her idea.

She was forced to agree with her brother. Any plan that would make her be the victim of an injection was definitely a dumb one.

Why didn’t she think of that?

"So what do you think we should do then?"
