The Exiled Lord: My Maid is a Battle Goddess
Chapter 289: Taking on two opponents at once
"No problem."
Rosalia finished her preparations, battle intent blazing within her. With a light tap of her pale toes against the ground, she gracefully leapt onto the high platform.
"Hey, why did it suddenly go quiet in there?"
Biskaly had already arrived beneath the city walls. Frowning, she stared into the gray mist and shouted inside, "Answer me already. Why did you stop talking? What the hell happened in there?"
"Hehe, so you’re the Imperial Guards from the capital."
Rosalia no longer hid herself and elegantly stepped out from the gray mist. The torn black skirt that had yet to fully mend fluttered violently in the wind. Combined with her waterfall-like long hair, she radiated a shattered yet haunting beauty.
"Oh? You actually came out on your own."
Biskaly sized up the masked woman before her and raised an eyebrow in surprise. With a flick of her hand, a savage divine artifact battle axe appeared in her grasp.
"Shadow World Sect Divine Chosen really are as stupid as ever."
Meanwhile, Dark Curse narrowed her eyes and warned coldly, "Biskaly, don’t get arrogant. I can feel danger from her."
"There’s no need to be so tense." Biskaly smiled sweetly, yet her face was filled with venomous malice. "I’ll break all four of her limbs and let my horse have some fun with her. How dare she invade my family’s territory."
Rosalia lifted her skirt slightly and performed a noble curtsy with perfect elegance.
"That sounds like a wonderful idea. We should do exactly that to you."
The moment she finished speaking, the Greatsword of Gluttony burst out from the gray mist. After opening its third demonic eye, the already grotesque blade became even more terrifying.
Rosalia grabbed the massive sword and casually swung it.
Space itself suddenly split apart.
A gigantic corrupted dragon claw stretched out from the shattered void. The rotten dragon arm was pierced and wrapped with chains and blood-red threads, while the claw twitched occasionally as though alive.
It was not as enormous as the dragon form from the previous disintegration state, but even so, the claw was still as massive as two bulls combined.
New Talent: Incarnate Synergy Battle
The incubated dragon fights in coordination with Rosalia. The corrupted dragon is controlled through chains, copying Rosalia’s offensive and defensive movements while synchronizing divine skills alongside her.
Note: Unlocking the corrupted dragon’s complete form requires massive amounts of materials or the devouring of divine artifacts. Current unlock progress: 1%.
Phield was stunned.
"So it still requires sacrifices to fully awaken. No wonder the chains on the Greatsword of Gluttony disappeared. They’re being used to control the corrupted dragon now. Makes perfect sense."
"A Divine Chosen I’ve never seen before. Shadow World Sect already has a new member this quickly?"
Third-rank Divine Chosen were extremely rare. Almost every single one had a known name and title.
"I am the new Ninth Executor."
Rosalia displayed the ring they had seized earlier. It had originally belonged to the Ninth Executor of the Shadow World Sect.
Of course, that woman was already dead.
"So it really is someone from the Shadow World Sect."
The instant Dark Curse got a clear look at the ring, her heartbeat suddenly accelerated. Her pupils contracted violently.
"Danger!"
In the next moment, Rosalia had already flashed forward. The Greatsword of Gluttony came crashing down with overwhelming force.
"Die!"
The air released a chain of shrill wails.
Dark Curse retreated like a phantom, barely dodging the Greatsword of Gluttony, which moved so fast it had become a blur. Yet just as she evaded the blade, a violent gust exploded above her head.
She stomped her foot down, shattering the ground beneath her, and instantly raised her divine artifact saber to block.
Behind Rosalia, the gigantic dragon claw descended with terrifying murderous force.
Boom!
Dark Curse only felt an overwhelming impact slam into her body. She was sent flying uncontrollably, as though a speeding train had crushed straight through her organs. Pain exploded throughout her entire body.
"What the hell is happening?"
The merchants watching from afar had originally expected to see the Imperial Guards effortlessly slaughter the rebels.
Instead, the sudden scene before them nearly caused their eyes to pop out of their sockets.
"This is way too fun."
Rosalia licked her lips happily.
"The corrupted dragon’s attacks have a huge delay, but the power and range are even greater than the Greatsword of Gluttony itself. Just like the strength I could only experience back when I entered disintegration form."
"Damn bitch, don’t get cocky."
Biskaly swung her massive axe with overwhelming force. Violent winds roared through the air.
Clang!
The sound of metal grinding violently echoed everywhere.
Rosalia simply raised her hand in a defensive motion, and the corrupted dragon claw immediately blocked the attack head-on.
"What? Impossible!"
Biskaly’s pupils shook violently.
"Oh? Weren’t you supposed to be powerful and noble?" Rosalia smirked mockingly, finally venting the irritation she had been holding in for so long. "So why do you seem so pathetic now? Or are you only good at abusing authority and bullying weaker people?"
"You filthy whore, shut your mouth!"
Biskaly exploded in rage. Divine power surged wildly around her body as she yanked back her axe and launched a furious barrage of attacks. Every strike carried terrifying weight, as though entire mountains were crashing down.
"Hehe, looks like the little doggie is getting angry. Maybe getting you pregnant would actually be a good idea."
"Stop acting arrogant, rebel."
Dark Curse coldly shouted as she returned to the battlefield, launching attacks continuously from tricky and unpredictable angles.
Clang clang clang!
The two sides exchanged blows in a frenzied battle.
The sound of metal collisions made everyone’s scalp go numb. Chaotic divine power currents tore apart the surrounding terrain, while explosions of sparks erupted from every collision of abilities.
"She’s even stronger than I expected."
Hidden within the gray mist, Phield finally let out a sigh of relief. If Rosalia had somehow turned out weak after all the resources he invested into her, he would have been so angry he wouldn’t sleep tonight.
The merchants and their subordinates were equally horrified.
"T-This is a Divine Chosen from the rebels?" Teli broke out in cold sweat. "Isn’t she way too ridiculously strong? I always heard the rebels were nothing but a mob of rabble. So all that was just propaganda? She’s suppressing two Imperial Guards by herself, and they call this a mob?"
"Boss, let’s run already."
The assistant beside him trembled in fear.
"If we get caught in that fight, we’re dead."
"B-But they’re Imperial Guards. What if they come after us later?" Teli wanted to cry. He originally intended to say something patriotic about loyalty to the Empire, but survival instinct won instantly. "I’m leaving. You guys stay here and protect the goods."
"Huh? Then I’m leaving too."
"Wait for me. I already wanted to quit anyway."
Once the workers saw even their boss running away, every single one abandoned the cargo and fled in panic.
Teli’s decision was quickly proven to be incredibly wise.
The two Imperial Guards were actually being completely suppressed.
"Damn it. If this keeps going, we’re going to lose."
Although Dark Curse hated admitting it, the more intense the battle became, the more powerless she felt.
"When did the Shadow World Sect gain a Divine Chosen this terrifying?"
"Third-Rank Divine Skill, Death Flash!"
Dark Curse stepped forward. Strange runes flickered and crawled across her saber as her speed reached its absolute limit.
Terrifying divine power burst forth as she slashed downward. The explosive force of the divine skill caused a chain of sonic booms to echo through the air.
"I’ll attack too. Third-Rank..."
Biskaly also began activating her divine skill.
But Rosalia moved even faster.
Both hands gripped the Greatsword of Gluttony tightly, and within her eyes remained nothing but maddened killing intent.
