Hua Xiaomo didn’t speak and was about to brush past him.

Suddenly, Zi Yunsui grabbed her elbow.

"What’s wrong with you?" Zi Yunsui looked at her, his voice low but heavy with concern.

Hua Xiaomo shook her head, not saying anything, yet her face was also very pale. How could she tell him that when she was in City A, she encountered Qi Longbing in a bridal shop, and then Qi Longbing had forced himself on her? She couldn’t bring herself to say such things. Candy watched her mother, puzzled. She didn’t understand why her mom suddenly had to leave during dinner.

Candy ran to find Zi Yunsui. "Brother Zi Yunsui, what’s wrong with Mom? Is she not feeling well? Should we go check on Mommy and see if she’s okay?"

Zi Yunsui looked at Candy. He was worried about Hua Xiaomo, but he was also concerned about Candy right in front of him.

"Okay! Let’s find Mommy together, Brother. I really like you a lot!" Candy said at last, wrapping her arms around Zi Yunsui’s neck.

"Then, how about you call me Uncle instead of Brother from now on?" Zi Yunsui suggested with a smile.

This was indeed awkward. He wanted Candy to call him Uncle, but she insisted on calling him Brother? But if he really became Candy’s brother, wouldn’t that put him a generation below Hua Xiaomo? He wouldn’t like that at all!

"Uncle? There’s no uncle as young as you, Brother! That sounds weird. I don’t like it. I want to call you Brother!" Candy said stubbornly. Then she quickly leaned in and whispered in his ear.

"Brother, I know you really like Mom! So, you have to keep trying. I’ll be cheering for you. Candy will always be on your side!" Candy said with a beaming smile.

At her words, Zi Yunsui’s cheeks reddened once more. He suddenly felt that he shouldn’t give up on Hua Xiaomo just yet. He should take good care of her. Yes, he had a responsibility to care for her, and an even greater one to care for Candy.

With this thought, Zi Yunsui hugged Candy even tighter.

"Then, Candy, would you like Brother to be your daddy?" Zi Yunsui asked suddenly.

His words struck a chord in Candy’s heart.

"Yes, yes! I’d love for Brother to be my daddy!" Candy said happily, and then planted a firm kiss on Zi Yunsui’s cheek.

"So, Brother, you have to keep trying and quickly marry Mom. Then our family of three will never be separated again!" Little Candy said sweetly.

A smile also appeared on Zi Yunsui’s face as he looked at Little Candy with great joy. However, at that moment, he was still more worried about Hua Xiaomo’s condition.

"Candy, you must be good, okay? Later, don’t ask too many questions. Your mommy... she must be feeling unwell. She might be going to the hospital," Zi Yunsui said, a trace of worry in his eyes.

Without another word, he held Little Candy and quickly drove to the nearest hospital.

Sure enough, he saw Hua Xiaomo outside the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology department.

Hua Xiaomo was sitting alone on a chair outside, her expression extremely grave.

Hua Xiaomo was startled to see them, her expression turning awkward again.

"What are you two doing here?"

"You barely ate anything. We were worried about you," Zi Yunsui said with a smile, feigning a relaxed demeanor. Then he reached out to help her up.

"Let’s go home. No matter how big the problem is, don’t you still have me? Why the long face? Come on, let’s go home and eat. How can you not eat!" Zi Yunsui said cheerfully, instantly putting his arm around Hua Xiaomo’s shoulder.

Looking at Zi Yunsui, Hua Xiaomo suddenly felt an immense sadness well up in her heart.
