The Anomaly Beyond The System

Chapter 119: Interesting…
“What?” Selthia asked softly.
The black-haired maid didn’t say anything; she just tilted her head slightly toward the unconscious naked Lia lying on the ground nearby—in a gesture telling her to carry her.
Selthia blinked in confusion.
“What is it?” she asked again, with a clear ignorance visible in her face.
The woman who was carrying Lucian slowly turned her head toward hers.
Her eyes sharpened beneath her emotionless gaze.
Then, Selthia’s own shadow flickered faintly under her feet, trembling and darkening.
Noticing that, Selthia immediately made an exhausted expression.
“I cannot carry her… I’m maintaining the portal.”
She swayed faintly while walking, almost as if she were about to faint at any moment.
A small vein popped over the black-haired maid’s forehead before she quietly let out a soft sigh.
The shadow beneath her feet darkened completely.
The darkness stretched and twisted across the ruined ground toward Lia.
The moment Lia’s entire body was fully shrouded beneath the shadow, her unconscious naked figure sank into the darkness itself, like being swallowed by black water.
Within seconds, she vanished entirely, and the shadow returned back toward the black-haired maid once again.
Seeing this, Selthia clapped her hands, as if enjoying a magic show.
Ignoring her, the black-haired maid began walking toward the portal while adjusting Lucian’s unconscious body in her arms.
Selthia casually followed behind her, occasionally hopping over the cracks below to keep from falling in.
She didn’t understand why her companion seemed so interested in the man, maybe even more than the Young Miss herself.
But didn’t ponder too much over it.
What she didn’t know—
One of the black-haired maid’s hands was lightly pressed against Lucian’s neck the whole time.
As if she was prepared to kill him instantly the moment something abnormal happened.
But just before they could even reach the portal—
The ground suddenly began to subtly tremble beneath them.
In a short distance behind them, the Giant Maw Worm’s body moved—its burned body twitching.
The charred circular mouth convulsed violently, and a disgusting wet sound escaped from deep within its throat.
“It’s still alive…?!”
Selithia immediately jumped backward as soon as she noticed the enormous monster’s body moving.
Her eyes widened.
“Ok, I’m out!”
Without hesitation, she turned and immediately ran toward the portal.
The black-haired maid didn’t rush forward like her companion.
Stopping in her tracks, she slowly turned her head toward the enormous creature.
Its burnt skin twisted and pulsated in nauseating ripples beneath the rising sunlight.
“If you don’t come in a minute, the portal won’t be open for long…!”
Selthia shouted in a light tone as she waved toward her before her body passed through the portal completely.
Leaving only the black-haired maid behind.
A quiet sigh escaped her lips as she briefly closed her eyes.
Faintly glancing at the gigantic monster one final time—
She silently turned away and resumed walking toward the portal.
Behind her—
The gigantic monster’s body twitched violently, its grotesque burned maw slowly opening again.
But before it could even fully get up from its position—
The shadow beneath its massive body abruptly darkened, before lengthening unnaturally outward.
Black mist-like tendrils slowly flickered upward from the darkness.
The shadows danced erratically before turning sharper and deadlier.
All the nearby shadows across the ruined streets suddenly distorted as well, all gathering beneath the enormous worm
The shadows condensed tighter and tighter, until finally—
STAB—!
A gigantic black long spike violently erupted from the dancing shadows, piercing directly through the Giant Maw Worm’s enormous body.
The massive shadow spike burst through its frame, emerging from the upper side of its body in an explosion of impact.
The Giant Maw Worm let out a horrifying shriek.
Its enormous body convulsed violently, twisting against the ruined streets as the sound echoed through the destroyed city.
Before it could even recover from the first attack, more and more black spikes pierced through its body from below, stabbing through its hollow body from every direction.
Until its grotesque flesh was continuously riddled with holes as multiple spikes impaled it mercilessly.
Finally, with one last violent twitch followed by a weak shriek, the gigantic monster collapsed onto the cracked road with a massive thud.
The ruined ground shook under the impact, and dust rose into the air.
The black haired woman calmly continued walking toward the portal with Lucian in her arms as though none of it mattered.
And without looking back, she stepped into the shimmering portal.
The moment her body disappeared inside it, the portal flickered faintly before disappearing completely.
Leaving behind nothing but silence, along with the corpse of the Giant Maw Worm lying amidst the destroyed streets.
Its enormous body was filled with massive holes through which thick disgusting fluids continuously seeped out, flowing across the cracked roads beneath the rising sunlight.

Some time earlier—
Far away from the ruined city, in an unknown place where no one else could enter—
A woman lazily lay atop an enormously luxurious bed, her body sinking into the impossibly soft mattress beneath her.
Her revealing robe loosely draped over her figure, while her arms were sprawled apart carelessly.
Above her stretched a ceiling resembling a clear sky, with clouds drifting peacefully.
Yet as she stared at the clouds above her, her attention was elsewhere.
Her eyes were looking at something else, focused upon something happening very, very far away—impossibly far from where she was.
For a brief second, her eyes widened faintly in surprise as she looked at the man sitting amidst the surrounding destruction with his eyes closed.
Along with a naked woman who sat on his lap, sinking her canines into his neck and drinking his blood.
But still, there was a slightly bored expression on her face.
‘Let’s watch something else…’ she thought casually, but just as she was about to shift her attention elsewhere—
She suddenly paused.
‘What is that…?’
Her gaze fixed upon the black tendrils slowly seeping from the young boy’s body, as the dark energy began spreading across the pale woman feeding from him.
‘Shadow…?’ she considered for a second, before shaking it off.
‘No… It’s something else.’
Something she hadn’t seen in her torturously long life.
Her eyes sparked faintly.
A hint of interest appeared on her face as her expression shifted slightly.
Curiously, she continued watching, looking forward to what the boy was trying to do.
A soft pink pillow suddenly materialised within her arms.
“Hm~ Hm~~ hmmm~”
A melodic hum escaped her cherry lips as she lazily hugged the pillow closer while waiting for something to happen.
Her melodious, unbelievably sweet, almost hypnotic voice seemed to make the very air tremble with delight.
But after looking at everything that happened further ahead—
“Huh…?”
A confused sound escaped her lips.
Her brows knitted slightly as she looked at the boy she had been watching, now lying motionless on the ground.
Lifeless.
“He died? Huuuuh…?”
She immediately raised her upper body from the bed.
The movement caused the loose robe draped around her to slide down slightly, revealing more of her smooth white skin.
As her robe slipped further across the sheets below, it clearly revealed the soft curves of her chest and her massively huge breasts that swayed heavily with the movement.
The blanket pooled loosely around her lap.
Revealing her beauty so inhumane it almost didn’t feel real.
Still visibly confused, she tilted her head faintly, only for her eyes to light up as she thought of something.
‘Vampire… right, how could I forget.’
The realisation came to her immediately.
Still, her curiosity only deepened as she continued observing the boy undergoing the transformation into a vampire.
Soon, his heart began beating once more, and the moment she saw those glowing red eyes, she became certain of it.
Slowly, she leaned back against the mattress again, not even bothering about lifting her robe or hiding her ample assets.
Not like there was anyone there to see.
Her body comfortably sank into the soft mattress once more.
But then—
“What…?”
A quiet, uncertain mumble escaped her lips as she looked at the black mist-covered being, like a dark nightmare given shape, sitting amidst the bright ruined environment.
She frowned faintly, because she hadn’t ever seen something like that before.
But then, to her absolute disbelief, the being turned its head.
Its glowing blood-red eyes shifted directly in her direction.
“HUH?”
A small shiver unexpectedly ran down her spine as she felt those crimson orbs staring directly at her.
As though the being could actually see her watching from where she currently was—a place impossible for a mortal to access without her permission.
And in the very next moment—
“WHAT?!”
She suddenly exclaimed as the connection abruptly shattered.
The vision before her shattered, pulling her back into her room.
She immediately tried to look toward him again, but no matter how hard she tried—
She couldn’t.
After a certain distance from the ruined city, her eyes could no longer see any farther ahead.
As if an invisible barrier was surrounding the being from being spied upon by beings like her.
For several long seconds, she simply lay there, stunned.
Then gradually, the surprise on her face softened.
A seductive smile spread across her lips.
“Interesting…” she muttered softly to herself, licking her lips lightly while her eyes gleamed with curiosity.
