That Girl From Nowhere: Tycoon's Forbidden Sweetheart
Chapter 1109: Mental State Is Not Right
Yan Yan thought she was still scared and reached out to rub her hair: "It’s okay, I’ll go in with you."
Yet Yun Qiqi remained motionless, staring at the equipment inside for a while.
Suddenly she spoke: "I don’t want to go through with the examination."
Shi Yunshen had prepared everything and was ready to examine her and analyze the data, but he froze upon hearing this.
"Is something wrong?"
He instinctively looked down at himself; he wasn’t wearing a lab coat! There wasn’t even a scent of disinfectant!
Before coming, he had specially sprayed on perfume, all according to this little darling’s preferences, afraid she might reject him.
Yan Yan likewise looked down at her, speaking inquisitively: "Little Gua?"
Yun Qiqi offered no explanation, she merely pressed her lips together, her dark eyes deep with mystery, saying: "Just suddenly don’t want to anymore."
Gu Yixuan puzzled: "Wasn’t everything fine last time? It won’t hurt, there’s nothing to be afraid of."
He still wanted to continue with her examination.
Yun Qiqi fell silent, just tightly grabbing Yan Yan’s clothing hem.
Her little face held a faint indifference, along with subtle traces of defensiveness.
Yan Yan watched her expression for a long time, then hugged her, softly saying: "No examination then," he glanced at Gu Yixuan, "Let’s forget it this time. You go back, we’ll talk next time."
The young girl coldly spoke: "I don’t want to be examined in the future either."
With that, she lightly glanced at the two of them, pulled away from Yan Yan’s hand, and turned to leave the medical room.
Gu Yixuan was baffled by her actions, intuitively looking at Yan Yan, frowning: "What’s wrong with her?"
Yan Yan paused, shook his head: "I don’t know."
Gu Yixuan gazed in the direction Yun Qiqi had left for a while, as if wanting to say something, yet ended up murmuring: "Maybe I was mistaken..."
Yan Yan furrowed his brow: "What?"
Gu Yixuan rubbed his chin, recalling Yun Qiqi’s earlier appearance, saying: "She seemed like she might not be in the right mental state, somewhat similar to patients I used to see in psychiatry."
Yan Yan’s expression immediately darkened, his gaze dangerously fierce: "What do you mean?"
Gu Yixuan quickly gestured with his hands: "I don’t mean to insult your treasure, I’m just stating a fact," he rubbed his nose, explaining, "Not all psychiatric patients are raving lunatics; some look just like everyone else."
"Especially mild ones, sometimes their gaze turns blank, appearing very lost, then quickly returning to normal, repeatedly."
"I noticed something seemed off about her expression when you led her upstairs earlier; her refusal of me now just seems even stranger. She wasn’t like this before, right? Even two years ago when I wore a lab coat, she’d still obediently undergo examinations as long as you were around."
Gu Yixuan was entirely sharing his own deductions, lacking specifics due to the absence of any examination.
Initially noticing Yun Qiqi seemed out of sorts, he simply suspected it was due to staying up late gaming or such, but her abrupt rejection of a prearranged appointment was the true oddity.
Yan Yan’s gaze, however, grew heavy.
He recalled how recently the youngster often seemed absent-minded and this morning at the dining table, the subtle vigilance in her eyes when she looked at him.
