After saying that, the purple sphere began to suck all of the yang energy in its surroundings. Thanks to it, it began to grow in size to the point that Luke looked like an ant in front of it. The aura of the creature grew more severe, and the eyes of the monster also began to look vicious. Luke wondered why a mass of dark thoughts that obtained sentience wouldn’t show any animosity toward him, but that was changing now. The monster truly was looking at Luke as if he were a very annoying insect... he wasn’t expecting anythign less from the last enemy he had to face, in fact, he was a bit thankful for it.

Suddenly, the purple sphere fired a dark beam toward Luke, and even though he jumped to the side the moment he felt the killing intent, he still got hit in the arm and lost it. While Luke was feeling the wound burning, he saw his arm falling and then being consumed from the wound to his fingers. He wasn’t powerful enough to heal an arm instantly and to make things worse. He felt his head getting hazy. His body also absorbed some of the yang energy... 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

"I suppose this also helps me, but..." Luke said while clenching his teeth.

Luke wondered if Aivern had to face that thing without mana. It would be essentially like becoming a regular person, after all. Still, he managed to escape several times, and Luke had to learn how and then use that method to counterattack. Luke also had to find a way to purify the energy in order to get rid of the dark thoughts inside his mind, or at least use it to stop the enemies’ attacks.

While jumping from platform to platform, Luke dodged the attacks of the purple sphere, but it was starting to get difficult since the accuracy of the enemy was improving. It was like that thing woke you from a long nap, and it was slowly waking up, and that wasn’t a good thing.

"I just have to endure this a while longer... Soon I will be able to summon my swords," Luke thought.

While Luke was thinking about that, he felt some presence appearing around him, and when he turned, he saw shadows in the shape of liches. Since they could fly, they were more than a bit annoying. They also could fire the same beam of dark energy that the purple sphere could... And while it wasn’t as powerful, it was annoying at close range.

While looking around, Luke selected those that were about to hit him and then created some dark shields to block them. It didn’t surprise Luke that the shields soon broke or dissipated. He got hit, but the wounds were small, and Luke felt some of the energy being absorbed by his body. At the same time, more mana came to his body.

"I can’t use yang to wound them here, but I can at least use it defensively... Still, I have to quickly find a way to deal with the dark thoughts," Luke muttered.

Luke felt some danger and then used all his power to move away from that spot, but then an even larger beam of energy came from the eye of the monster and obliterated Luke’s left leg. He began to sweat cold while the attack was slowly eating away his flesh and increasing the wound. Fortunately, he thought fast and then used his own yang energy to stop the enemy in the wound. Fortunately, that worked, and even better, he absorbed the enemy’s energy as well.

"Maybe I can use this," Luke thought.

In the next moment, Luke covered his body with yang, and then he started to look like a dark knight. Thanks to that, he had now a prosthesis made of that energy, and when the shadow liches landed their attacks, it didn’t hurt that much. Still, it didn’t seem like he could use that energy indefinitely. His mind was starting to get clear, and the armor was also getting thinner.

"Let’s test this..." Luke said and covered only his lower half with yang.

By doing that, Luke improved the power of his legs. He began to jump faster and for longer distances while moving away from the shadows. At the same time, he also noticed that the dark thoughts were also returning, even though he didn’t get hit again. All in all, even yang could be recovered like that.

"Just like mana..." Luke thought.

Luke realized that he could control the dark thoughts as long as he kept using Yang often. With that in mind, he decreased the output on his legs a little, and he got just enough not to lose the power or to let the thoughts bother him. Luke decided to counterattack with that newfound strength, and he dashed toward the Shadow liches. When they realized what Luke was planning, it was too late. He had already split into two-three of them.

"Using yang to boost my speed and mana to boost my strength was the right call..." Luke thought as he felt the shadows moving to his body.

Now he just had to deal with five other shadows and slowly get the energy from the ambient to unlock more of his mana. Or at least that was the plan... Luke suddenly began to sweat cold when small copies of the purple sphere appeared around him and attacked at the same time. A massive explosion happened, and Luke began to fall while he also felt that his body was falling apart. At the last moment, he used all of the mana and the dark energy to protect himself, but it wasn’t enough. Luke fell on another platform, and then he found his body with grave wounds and covered with blood.

"I don’t have time to waste, I have been waiting for a long time to accomplish my duty and I will accomplish it this time," the purple sphere said.
