Chapter 390: Goal (5)

Luke almost let out a what the hell when he saw the cost to use the magic lens. He used the double of that when he tried those skills together for the first time, so he was expecting quite the decrease when he made the items. In any case, the magic lenses were as good as Luke had envisioned. Even while he could see the future one second ahead, he still could see things through the lenses.

In any case, when Aivern was free again, he attacked Luke again, but Luke now was able to see where he was going to get hit and counterattack with his sword. He just blocked them with the Blade, and Aivern fists began to bleed thanks to it.

"Heh, isn’t that cool?" Luke asked while smirking. "You may not attack me directly thanks to magic, but the law of cause and effect still applies as if you were doing that."

Aivern used his power to see the future and then predict the best course of action to ambush Luke with his skills, but he only saw Luke reacting to them and dodging them. He shouldn’t be able to see that far ahead in the future, but he still could do that much. The demerits also were something that Aivern had to deal with... The more he tries to see far ahead in the future when there are many factors that might make it change, the more he sees blurred images. The future that he saw before the start of the fight was almost predetermined, but now he couldn’t see almost anything clearly. That was the first time that happened since he got his powers...

"Are you ready to stop with that?" Luke asked. "We won’t go anywhere if we fight using those skills. Just use mana to boost your powers in the most simple way and I will do the same. Things will end in a much more satisfactory way in that manner."

Aivern furrowed his eyebrows when he heard that... As if he would fight in such a barbaric way. He wouldn’t never go down the level of his enemies. Aivern suddenly raised his right arm, and then Luke raised his guard, but nothing happened even after several seconds... Luke didn’t like that. Usually, long waits only mean that something very troublesome is being prepared. He increased the output of his magic lenses to see the future, and then he saw... A massive meteor destroyed the whole tower.

"... You must have gone mad," Luke said. "Suicide, really? I am disappointed."

"Screw the universe... Screw my goal. I just want to kill you." Aivern declared.

Luke couldn’t help but sigh, the enemy should know that something like that won’t kill Luke, but at least it will give him an opening. Still, Luke had other plans for that. Besides, he was getting bored with that enemy... Someone who refuses to acknowledge the adversary’s strength in front of them should only be treated like trash.

Luke stored his sword in his dimension and then collected ten crystals that he had made for a special occasion. After absorbing them, Luke jumped with all his might toward the direction the meteor was coming from. It didn’t take long for Luke to find it and collide against it. In the end, a single jumped, and punch hadn’t been enough to stop or destroy it, so Luke was pushed back to the tower, and both of them destroyed the half of the top of the tower while they began to fall and cross the other layers. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Using all his strength wasn’t enough, so Luke used all his mana to buff his strength, to the point that his muscles suddenly got three times bigger, and his veins began to bulge like they were about to explode. This time, Luke crossed the fifth and fourth layer of the tower while standing and trying to stop the three hundred kilometers long meteor... His hands were burning like hell, and his bones were shattering even faster than they could heal... still, he didn’t give up.

Meanwhile, Aivern waited patiently for his chance. The moment Luke shows any sign of weakness, he would attack with all his might and finish him alongside his 98 lives. However, much to his surprise, the meteor began to slow down before that could happen. In the end, the whole thing stopped before it could even reach the second layer...

"Delivery from mister asshole... To mister jackass!" Luke said and then activated Weapon Augmentation.

Luke already knew how that fight would end, so there was no need to hold back. Aivern wasn’t good at adapting to things after seeing the same things happening over and over again in many lifetimes. Not to mention, his best weapons had already been crushed, and Luke didn’t want to waste any more time with him.

For the first time since pretty much forever, Aivern flinched while he saw that meteor coming toward him. Sure he could destroy that one, but not all the other nine made of pure mana created by Weapon Augmentation... Aivern stepped backward and considered running away. He thought that he was prepared to die for the last time, but when he really realized that he wouldn’t be reborn again, he trembled in fear. Still, in the end, he was someone who faced existential terror countless times, so he clenched his teeth and made up his mind.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Aivern shouted while he began to draw all the mana that he could.

The entire tower began to tremble as if it was responding to Aivern’s shout. Due to the nature of the spells that he knew and that he was using too much mana, numerous distortions began to appear around him, and they began to destroy the top of the tower. Still, something like that was bound to happen since the meteors were approaching. In the end, he decided to face them head-on.

Aivern covered his whole body with the mana transformed into the highest magic attributes, darkness, light, space, and time... he disappeared, but his presence still could be felt. At the same time, the first meteor was bombarded with countless temporal punches and was destroyed...
