Surviving in the Beast World with a System
Chapter 337 - 331: A Strange-Looking Egg
Wu Yue’s fingers trembled. "I need something to stop the itching right now."
The moment she spoke, the system panel instantly unfolded before her eyes. "Basic Healing Potion, only 50 points! An essential remedy for any home—you deserve it."
Staring at the stark figure of 50 points, Wu Yue felt every organ in her body begin to ache.
"What kind of potion is this? It’s so expensive!"
The System twiddled its fingers and said pitifully, "The kind that takes effect the moment you drink it."
Wu Yue narrowed her eyes. "And then?"
The System grumbled, "And then... there’s nothing else."
Seeing the steep price, Wu Yue wanted to just grit her teeth and bear it, but the maddening itch that clawed at her skin was simply unbearable.
She gritted her teeth. "One bottle."
The words had barely left her mouth when the System’s cheerful voice chimed in as it deducted the points. ’Host has purchased one bottle of Basic Healing Potion. 50 points deducted. We wish you a speedy recovery, dear~’
Hearing that thick, cheesy sales pitch, Wu Yue endured the itch and smacked the Blue Fatty’s butt hard. "Talk normally!"
The System bounced. "But I’ve seen others use this service style and get great results."
Wu Yue gave a dry laugh. "That’s just your delusion."
While they were bickering, she looked down and saw a transparent, thumb-sized vial in her grass bedding.
Wu Yue didn’t even need to ask; she knew it was the Basic Healing Potion she’d just bought.
But...
She bent over, hoisted up the Blue Fatty, and gave it the kind of look you’d give a con artist. "You call *this* ’a bottle’?"
The Blue Fatty shrank back guiltily. "It’s the standard size! Don’t judge it by its size, it’s highly effective!"
Wu Yue sneered. "If this doesn’t work, I’m going to smash your head in."
The System furtively shrank into a corner, watching with wide eyes as its host pried open the glass cap with a look of utter disgust and then... downed it in a single slurp.
’That’s why,’ the System thought to itself, ’for a potion in a bottle this tiny, it doesn’t even deserve to be called a ’drink’.’
The potion was tasteless. If she hadn’t personally exchanged points for it in the System Mall, Wu Yue would have suspected the System of trying to fool her with a vial of plain water.
But a second later, just as she was beginning to doubt the potion’s effectiveness, the maddening itch vanished instantly. Even the patches of red rash covering her skin disappeared in a moment.
Glancing at her completely recovered skin, then back at the tiny vial in her hand, Wu Yue’s eyes lit up as she turned to the System, which was still huddled in a small ball.
A grin spreading across her face like a creepy old lady’s, she said, "System, when do potions like this go on sale? Give me a heads-up, I’ll stock up on them."
At these words, the Blue Fatty’s entire being went into shock.
"Host, this is a fifty-point potion! Do you think it’s some cheap cabbage being sold off at the market?"
Wu Yue pursed her lips. "The System Mall doesn’t have any sales. It really kills my desire to shop."
With that, she scooped up the still-grumbling Blue Fatty, opened the door, and went out.
The slaves had already begun their work for the day. After greeting them, she made her way to Shi Lin’s family cave.
The Beastman Warriors she knew had all gone with Yuan Lang into the deep forest to hunt Fierce Beasts. If she wanted to build a wooden bed, her only option was to ask Shi Lin, a Half beastman Warrior who possessed sharp claws, for help.
Seeing her approach, Shi Lin, who was sharpening Stone Tools at the cave entrance, quickly stood up. "Yue, what brings you here?"
Shi Lin and the other Half beastman Warrior from the last incident had been more seriously injured. The Snow Tiger Tribe Leader hadn’t assigned them to hunting or patrol duties, instead allowing them to rest in their caves.
"I had the slaves chop down some trees. They need to be split into planks, so I came to ask for your help."
Hearing this, Shi Lin’s eyes brightened, and he nodded eagerly. "Of course. Should we go now?"
As he spoke, he set aside the Stone Tool he had been sharpening.
The two made their way back to Wu Yue’s small courtyard. For a Half beastman Warrior, a task like splitting logs was incredibly simple.
By the time Wu Yue finished boiling some eggs and returned to the yard, the logs the slaves had brought back were already transformed into a neat stack of planks.
She handed two large eggs to Shi Lin. "This food is delicious. Just crack the outer shell, peel it off, and eat what’s inside."
Shi Lin was obliging and immediately peeled one of the boiled eggs, its fragrant aroma instantly filling the air.
He swallowed hard, took a large bite, and his eyes sparkled like stars in the night sky.
After finishing it, he glanced at the other egg—the one meant for his Father—with a look of longing, but managed to suppress the urge to eat it too.
