Survival of the Nation: I Can Specify the Items That Will Drop
Chapter 124: Elite Troll
The team turned northeast and continued deeper into the area.
The gray mist was thicker than at the periphery, and visibility dropped to less than fifteen meters.
The ground beneath their feet was no longer gravel and withered grass, but soft humus that was silent to step on, yet emitted a faint scent of rot and mold.
After walking for about half an hour, Shadow Snake's figure silently emerged from the mist.
“Lord, there's an anomaly ahead.” Her voice was kept extremely low, and her expression was more solemn than usual.
Lin Feng raised his right hand, and the team stopped.
“What kind of anomaly?”
“A stench, very strong,” Shadow Snake described briefly. “There are giant footprints on the ground, three-toed, with a stride of nearly two meters.
I didn't dare get too close, but that smell... it's like rotting meat.”
Three-toed footprints, a two-meter stride.
Lin Feng frowned slightly and signaled everyone to be on alert as he followed Shadow Snake forward to investigate.
After thirty meters, he saw the footprints.
The humus on the ground had been pressed into deep depressions; each footprint was half a meter long, with three thick toes clearly visible and sharp claw marks at the front.
The stride was indeed close to two meters, which meant the creature could cover that distance in a single step—it was massive.
Lin Feng crouched down and lightly touched the soil at the edge of a footprint with his finger. It was moist and soft, with no signs of drying up.
“Fresh,” he whispered. “It's nearby.”
He stood up, returned to the team, and briefly explained the situation.
“A new monster, massive in size.” Lin Feng’s gaze swept over everyone. “Stay sharp and be ready for battle at any moment.”
The group’s expressions stiffened as they gripped their weapons tightly.
The team continued to advance, much slower than before. Every step was taken with caution, for fear of making a sound that might alert the unknown behemoth.
They had walked for less than five minutes.
Thump.
A dull, heavy thud came from ahead, as if a giant warhammer had struck the ground.
Everyone stopped in their tracks simultaneously.
Thump.
Another sound, closer than the last.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
The sounds became more frequent and closer; each one felt like a heavy hammer striking everyone's hearts.
The ground beneath their feet trembled slightly.
The gray mist churned violently, and a massive silhouette slowly emerged.
The first thing to come into view was a thick bone club, thicker than an adult's thigh, covered in dried blood and unidentifiable bits of meat.
The bone club was held by a large, grayish-blue hand with four fingers and nails as black as ink, curved like hooks.
Then came the arm, the shoulder, and the chest.
A behemoth stepped out from the mist.
Standing over three meters tall, its skin was dark gray and rough like old tree bark, with muscles bulging like stacked rocks across its body.
It had broad shoulders and a thick back, hunching its body with a massive head leaning slightly forward. Two curved tusks jutted upward from the corners of its mouth, nearly half a foot long.
A pair of small eyes were deep-set under its brow bone, glinting with a dark red, ferocious light as they stared fixedly at the prey ahead.
A Troll.
It emitted a pungent stench—a mixture of rotting meat and fresh blood.
Its thick legs were slightly bent, and its giant three-toed feet made the ground tremble ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) with every step.
Everyone gasped.
This size was even larger than the Goblin Boss they had encountered before!
A set of data flashed across Lin Feng's eyes.
【Troll (Elite)】
【Level: Lv23】
“Prepare for battle!” Lin Feng shouted in a low voice, holding the Wildfire Spear horizontally in front of him.
Before his voice had even faded, the Troll moved.
It didn't roar or howl; it simply raised that massive bone club and smashed it down toward Zhao Hu, who was at the front of the team!
Its speed was completely inconsistent with its massive size!
“Hah!” Zhao Hu raised his shield to meet it, holding the guardian round shield above his head.
BOOM!!!
The thunderous sound of the bone club colliding with the shield made everyone's eardrums ache!
Zhao Hu was knocked back five steps, shield and all, his feet plowing two deep furrows into the humus! -80!
A shocking damage number floated up from above his head!
Zhao Hu's health bar instantly dropped by a significant chunk!
Everyone was horrified.
With just one hit, even though Zhao Hu had successfully blocked with his shield, he still lost 80 HP!
“Tie Dun! Together!” Lin Feng roared.
Tie Dun charged from the side, slamming his ironwall greatshield hard against the Troll's knee! Boom! -50!
The Troll grunted in pain and let out a dull roar, suddenly lifting its right foot and kicking Tie Dun's shield!
Tie Dun was sent flying backward by the kick, hitting the ground and rolling twice! -81!
Su Yurou's Healing Spell landed on both of them almost simultaneously: +110! +110!
Wang Wu and Arrow Eye's arrows whistled through the air, thudding into the Troll's shoulder and abdomen!
-80! -82! 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
The Troll looked down at the arrows in its body, reached out with its left hand, and casually pulled them out. The arrowheads were coated in dark red flesh.
A low growl rumbled in its throat, and a layer of dark red light suddenly appeared on its body, as if blood was boiling and surging beneath its skin.
Immortal Blood: Surge (Continuously restores health)!
In the next second, those two small puncture wounds began to squirm, close, and heal at a speed visible to the naked eye!
In less than three seconds, the wounds had completely disappeared, leaving only two shallow scars.
Everyone's pupils constricted. That recovery speed!
“It has super regeneration!” Lin Feng said sharply. “We must deal massive damage in a short time, or we won't be able to kill it!”
The Troll seemed to be provoked. It raised its bone club again, this time targeting Wang Wu, who was firing arrows!
“Get out of the way!” Zhao Hu gritted his teeth and rushed forward, meeting the blow with his guardian round shield once more—BOOM!!!
Another loud crash! This time, Zhao Hu was smashed down onto one knee, and fine cracks appeared on his shield! -80! His health bar plummeted again!
Su Yurou cast another Healing Spell: +110!
Just then, a deep blue light silently streaked out from the mist behind the Troll!
Shadow Snake!
【Shadow Step: Active】! She instantly appeared at the Troll's lower back, her deep blue fang carrying the double bonuses of 【Stealth Strike】 and 【Backstab】 as it plunged in deep!
Puchi—!!!
-180! (Backstab + Stealth Strike!)
The Troll let out an earth-shattering roar! It spun around violently, swinging its claw at the space behind it!
Shadow Snake flipped backward, narrowly avoiding the lethal claws before vanishing into the mist.
The wound on the Troll's lower back was half a foot deep, and dark red blood gushed out.
But in the next second, the wound began to squirm and heal again.
Only this time, the healing speed was slightly slower than before.
A sharp light flashed in Lin Feng's eyes.
That strike dealt so much damage that the Troll's recovery ability seemed to have a limit!
“Keep wearing it down! Its recovery takes time!” Lin Feng stepped forward with his spear, the Wildfire Spear turning into a streak of dark red lightning as it stabbed toward the Troll's abdomen!
Puchi! -180!
The Troll's abdomen was pierced, but it didn't care at all, swinging its bone club horizontally!
Lin Feng retracted his spear and retreated quickly, the bone club whistling past the tip of his nose!
