Chapter 2051 - 2052: Stone Forest! Second Update
On the journey ahead, Ye Qiu encountered no danger at all, though his mind was still reflecting on those alien creatures.
The universe is vast, with endless varieties of life forms; besides humans and ancient beasts, there are countless unimaginable species.
Ye Qiu felt that embarking on this path was akin to traveling through the universe, only by passing through planet after planet could he ultimately reach the path of the galaxy.
If he hadn’t possessed X-ray vision and wasn’t an Alchemist, just an ordinary Martial Artist, he would probably have fallen for it, like those before him, having their skins stripped off by those alien creatures to deceive others.
This made Ye Qiu feel a chill about the Gate of Life and Death; this was just the beginning, and the journey ahead would be even more perilous.
This encounter with the alien creatures and the scepter of X-ray vision suddenly made Ye Qiu realize he might have been neglecting his eyes. Ever since his strength grew stronger, the frequency of usage of X-ray vision had greatly diminished.
Is it possible that his X-ray vision is just a useless existence?
No.
The X-ray vision can also confuse others, functioning as the eyes of illusion, meaning it has room for development; he just had focused his attention elsewhere before, neglecting its development.
Suddenly aware of this issue, Ye Qiu thought he could try developing his X-ray vision while navigating this path of life and death; perhaps he could truly unlock new capabilities.
As Ye Qiu progressed, he would dedicate part of his mental energy to studying his X-ray vision.
His X-ray vision had often helped him navigate crises on Earth; now that his power was immense, he couldn’t ignore it. If not for this time, where it exposed the truth, he might have been trapped, even if he eventually saw through with his Soul Power.
At the very least, that large man would have truly deceived him. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
This point, Ye Qiu didn’t say out loud, but he acknowledged it in his heart.
How to enhance the capabilities of the X-ray vision is a significant issue; there’s nowhere to find guidance for this kind of training.
His X-ray vision is somewhat akin to an Innate Divine Ability, and enhancing it feels like a daunting task.
But this doesn’t prevent Ye Qiu from trying.
He began using the X-ray vision constantly, hoping to discover some unnoticed details in the process.
He turned his gaze to both sides; those pitch-black chaotic areas, even the X-ray vision couldn’t penetrate.
However, Ye Qiu was unfazed, focused on honing his X-ray vision to find ways to enhance it.
Moreover, he still had some pills with him, so even if using the X-ray vision consumed a lot of energy, it didn’t matter.
During Ye Qiu’s gradual exploration, he indeed discovered a detail—the X-ray vision, once used simultaneously with the eyes of illusion for an extended period, would enter a brief fatigue phase. After this fatigue, he felt that the penetration distance of his X-ray vision had improved.
Through observing the chaotic regions on both sides, he found out he could see through a bit.
This intrigued Ye Qiu, showing initial effectiveness.
What if he trained more intensely?
Wouldn’t the chaotic regions on both sides of this path all be transparent to him?
Although it wasn’t currently helpful to him, the improvement in perceptive abilities was still a good thing.
Subsequently, Ye Qiu persistently used his X-ray vision, expanding the scope through the chaos steadily.
Moreover, Ye Qiu discovered, after several experiments, that his eyes felt incredibly hot, as if they were burning.
Could this be a bottleneck?
Ye Qiu wondered, but he also feared overusing it, leading not to enhancement but to ruin, causing him to go blind, and that would be tragic.
He paused temporarily, deciding to take a break. His journey wasn’t short, and it seemed that apart from the earlier alien creatures, he hadn’t encountered any further danger.
Ye Qiu looked ahead and realized that he appeared to have reached the destination.
Just a few dozen meters away was a glowing door, emitting a red light.
Ye Qiu hurried over, and after confirming no presence of any threats nearby, he felt slightly relieved. This door should be the teleportation array leading to the next planet, just like the Gate of Life and Death entered previously.
Recalling the group that entered with him, it seemed he was the first to reach this point. As for those ahead of him, if they hadn’t been killed by those flying black bugs, they died at the hands of alien creatures.
Overall, this segment of the journey wasn’t too dangerous, at least not enough to make Ye Qiu tremble with fear.
Without any hesitation, Ye Qiu stepped onto the light gate, and with a flash of red light, his figure disappeared.
Soon after Ye Qiu vanished, six figures emerged from the chaos. Had Ye Qiu been there, he would have recognized them as the six alien creatures he had killed earlier, though this time, they were different from before.
The six alien creatures glanced at the light gate, their eyes filled with dread, then proceeded forward along the path. They had their task to fulfill, to block humans from approaching the light gate.
Only by doing this could they ensure their survival.
In the unseen, it seemed there was an invisible hand controlling these alien creatures; after one batch was slaughtered, a new batch emerged, unending, akin to a cycle.
When the red light dissipated, Ye Qiu found himself standing on a new land.
It was similarly a desolate planet, seemingly devoid of any life signs.
Ye Qiu was not careless; being transported here suggested lurking dangers.
There was a region under the cover of a light barrier, a safe zone, where no one lingered, as they must have all ventured further ahead.
Anyone reaching here wouldn’t opt to stay in a safe zone, as it held no meaning, tantamount to giving up the path of the galaxy.
Ye Qiu stepped out of the light barrier, offering a broader view, though chaos still obscured both sides, preventing a full panorama, but it was much more spacious than before.
After walking hundreds of meters, Ye Qiu noticed a forest of massive stones ahead, all towering stone pillars with sharp angles, standing robustly on the ground, looking imposing; yet in this desolate planet, it appeared a bit sinister and terrifying.
Clearly, the appearance of this stone forest was no coincidence, certainly concealing dangers within.
Sure enough, as Ye Qiu approached, he noticed the ground suddenly became very loose, and the further he went, the softer the ground grew. At the base of the first stone pillar, the ground turned completely into a swamp, like a mire.
Clearly, traversing this path wasn’t feasible. Ye Qiu considered flying over, but when he leaped, he was suddenly slammed back down by a powerful force. He looked up, seeing no figure, the force seemed to appear out of nowhere.
Could it be a restriction here disallowing flying?
Ye Qiu speculated, his gaze falling upon the stone pillars. It seemed the only way across was through them, but using these pillars, could it be that straightforward?
Nonetheless, Ye Qiu approached the stone pillars.
At this point, knowing the danger ahead, he had no choice but to face it.
Because, apart from this, there was no other option.
