Chapter 1102: Chapter 1101: The Bay

Under the combined onslaught of Jiang Cheng and the bird, like an autumn wind sweeping away fallen leaves, the Sea Wolves inside the bay were annihilated, even their Sea Wolf King was killed in one strike by Jiang Cheng, and its body was blown to pieces.

Ba Lv, tasked with protecting the Mermaids, rushed out in a fury. She finally had the chance to kill a few Sea Wolves to avenge the fallen Mermaids. However, she managed to kill only a few, which hardly satisfied her, resulting in a minor argument with Yanran.

The battle concluded, and the Mermaids emerged from their hiding caves. Being a naturally clean-loving race, they began cleaning without waiting for their leader’s command.

Yanran and Ba Lv also did not stand idly by; they joined in and started working with them.

Where is Jiang Cheng?

He is currently in the Sea Wolves’ lair.

Cut the weeds without removing the roots, and they will grow back with the spring breeze.

Jiang Cheng understood this principle.

To prevent future troubles, he ventured back to the Sea Wolves’ lair on the island to conduct a thorough search again.

As expected, just as he thought, in the Sea Wolves’ lair, over a dozen Sea Wolves were still left, scampering around the island, some even howling incessantly, likely because they suddenly realized their companions and Wolf King had vanished.

Seeing this, Jiang Cheng was glad he had initially refrained from killing the Wolf King.

Without the Wolf King’s intimidation and command, these Sea Wolves would undoubtedly turn into aimless wanderers, which, although minimizing their threat to the Mermaids, would still disturb them and thwart Jiang Cheng’s plan of complete annihilation.

Without hesitation, Jiang Cheng took action, eliminating the Sea Wolves one by one.

The Sea Wolves’ lair became quiet, aside from the howling sea breeze, almost no sound could be heard.

Jiang Cheng stood still, activating his perceptive abilities, using his body as the center, he began to sense whether any Sea Wolves remained hidden beyond his sight.

An invisible perceptive field spread out, Jiang Cheng closed his eyes slightly, carefully analyzing the returning information.

Sure enough, his actions were not unnecessary, deep within a cave, he sensed the presence of remaining Sea Wolves.

Jiang Cheng swiftly moved toward the cave where the Sea Wolves were hiding.

In the Mermaids’ dwelling, the battlefield cleanup had reached its final phase.

Yanran, Ba Lvluo, and the Mermaids worked together, pushing the Sea Wolves’ corpses into the sea, watching the sea gradually carry them away; peace filled their hearts.

Soon, these Sea Wolves’ bodies would become food for other creatures, and thus, the Sea Wolves accomplished one good deed.

Like tidal waters, the sea rushed into the bay, replacing the blood-tainted water, gradually clearing the bay’s water.

Yanran straightened up, gazing at the distant sea, still wondering silently where her mentor had gone.

Following his perception, Jiang Cheng found the cave where the remaining Sea Wolves were hiding. Upon entering, three or four Sea Wolves, noticing a foreign creature invading their territory, opened their bloody mouths and charged at him.

Jiang Cheng naturally did not take these Sea Wolves’ attacks to heart, killing them effortlessly.

Behind these Sea Wolves, he discovered a large group of young Sea Wolf pups.

Jiang Cheng was stunned.

These Little Sea Wolves were likely only a little over a month old, crawling slowly on the ground, some even tumbling over after moving a short distance.

Seeing these clumsy, adorable little ones, Jiang Cheng was momentarily at a loss on how to handle them.

Their kin were enemies with the Mermaids, now exterminated, yet they were innocent.

A light sphere had formed in Jiang Cheng’s hand, but he hesitated, not releasing it.

A Little Sea Wolf slowly approached him, Jiang Cheng looked down at it.

This young Little Sea Wolf did not know that the creature before it was the bringer of doom for its kin, just moments ago, it had killed its relatives...

The Little Sea Wolf was unaware.

Thus, it crawled clumsily to Jiang Cheng’s feet, perhaps drawn by his warmth, it tried hard to climb onto his shoe.

Jiang Cheng looked down at it.

Clearly, climbing onto his shoe was a herculean task for this Little Sea Wolf. Once, it almost succeeded, but then it tumbled backwards suddenly.

The Little Sea Wolf, undeterred, continued trying.

With a sigh, Jiang Cheng let the light sphere in his hand dissipate.

He bent down and scooped up the Little Sea Wolf.

Two sets of eyes, belonging to different species, met.

The Little Sea Wolf’s blue eyes lacked the ferocity of its kin, gazing at Jiang Cheng, it let out soft whines, then extended its small pink tongue, attempting to lick his hand.

The prickly fur of the Little Sea Wolf reminded Jiang Cheng that this creature would grow into a ferocious beast. Just moments ago, he had mercilessly slaughtered its kind to protect the Mermaids.

"Kill them."

"While they’re still in their cribs, killing them is the right thing to do."

Yet Jiang Cheng couldn’t bring himself to do it.

The cave was silent except for the Little Sea Wolves’ whining.

"Where’s the teacher gone?" Ba Lv wondered. "It’s been so long, he hasn’t come back."

"I don’t know," Yanran replied, "We’re almost done here." Ba Lvluo glanced at the bay, which was now cleaned aside from the lingering scent of Sea Wolves’ blood.

"Really, he could at least tell us where he’s going," Ba Lv complained, "With the Sea Wolves dead, what’s next for us?"

"We should leave here soon," Yanran said, observing the busy Mermaids, "It shouldn’t take too long."

"I think so too," Ba Lv agreed, yet their teacher’s prolonged absence left a tinge of unease.

Though they knew their teacher was unlikely to be in danger.

"Here he comes," Yanran suddenly said.

The battle had ended, but Yanran and Ba Lv had found that their teacher had gone somewhere unknown.

As they complained about Jiang Cheng, Yanran suddenly sensed the air shifting as Jiang Cheng moved.

"The teacher is here," before Yanran finished speaking, Jiang Cheng appeared before them.

"Where did you go?" Ba Lv asked Jiang Cheng.

"I went to the Sea Wolves’ lair to see if any were left," Jiang Cheng answered.

"Teacher, what’s that you’re carrying?" Yanran spotted the package Jiang Cheng held.

Jiang Cheng said nothing, placing what he held on the ground.

Yanran and Ba Lvluo widened their eyes in disbelief.
