Chapter 787: Before The Trial

If Jason manages to shrug off all those crimes without suffering any prison time, then there is a high chance that he would be offered Rubikโ€™s seat. And after thinking about it for a while last night and discussing it with both Farlow and Hesabeth, Jason decided that he wanted the seat. ๐•—๐ซ๐šŽ๐—ฒ๐˜„๐ž๐•“๐ง๐• ๐˜ƒ๐•–๐ฅ.๐œ๐š˜๐š–

In truth, there were just far too many benefits to be found in being the head of a Primordial Domain! Not only would Jason be able to receive information faster than anyone else, but he would also have the decision on what to do to any world that goes against the law in his Domain! Jason wouldnโ€™t have to worry about reporting to anyone else in his Domain, and it would be easy for Jason to improve the standing of Earth and make it stronger! It was a no-brainer, and Jason had already put enough people in place to make sure that he received the nomination for the seat from the council.

Once Jason made the decision that he wanted the seat, he received a new notification from the system as a new mission was activated.

โ€”โ€”

New Mission: Claim the Sixth Seat in the Council of Nine and One

The user has been identified as a prime candidate to succeed the now deceased Lord Rubik as the new head of the Sixth Primordial Domain known as the Alpha Domain. Although the odds are stacked against the user, the possibility of the user gaining the seat is relatively high. In order to complete this mission, the user must gain the support of a significant number of council members and claim the position of the Sixth seat in the Council of Nine and One.

Rewards:

+2,000,000 Kill Points

The user will gain the title [Overlord of the Sixth Domain]

The user will gain the title [Exalted Member of the Council of Nine and One]

The user will gain access to hidden information on all the worlds and races within the Sixth Domain.

Once Jason received this mission, a grin appeared on his face, and in that moment, Jasonโ€™s decision to become a member of the council was set in stone! Jason had already spoken to Farlow and Hesabeth about the condition needed to become a council member, and even though Farlow had his doubts about Jason getting the seat since there were other high-ranking mages in the Sixth Domain that also wanted the seat, Jason told Farlow not to worry since he had a hidden trump card up his sleeve.

"We need not worry much about the council. I am present in this trial as well, and that alone assures you that things shall turn out in our favour. Whatever they ask us to pay as reparation shall be within reason, and if they ask for more than what we can give, I shall give them a piece of my mind."

Jason was suddenly brought back to reality as Hesabeth spoke up from the side with a haughty tone, and Jason couldnโ€™t help but grin. If anyone else had said all of that, then Jason would have just scoffed and ignored it, but when Hesabeth says it, Jason knows that her words are definitely true. Jason finally stood up, and he spoke to Farlow.

"I guess itโ€™s time for us to go then. I want to finish this as quickly as possible, so I can return home, so Iโ€™d prefer if we didnโ€™t waste any time."

Farlow nodded as he stood up along with Hesabeth and Gina, and Farlow spoke up calmly.

"Iโ€™ll be going ahead of you since the council members are mandated to arrive sooner. We will not be able to meet up before the trial since I do not want the other council members to think Iโ€™m showing any favouritism towards you, but I will give you my unwavering support. You can be assured of that. Queen Hesabeth, I suggest you also do the same. It is best if you do not arrive at the Stone Catacombs with Jason."

Farlow turned to Hesabeth when he said that last part, but Hesabeth simply scoffed pompously as she unfurled her fan and used it to cover her lower face. Hesabeth moved close to Jasonโ€™s side and took his arm in her own.

"I shall do whatever I wish to, King Farlow. The opinion of lesser beings is of no concern to me. If they wish to view my relationship with Jason as a show of favouritism, then I have no reason to stop them. After all, it is not as though they are wrong."

Farlow let out a tired sigh, and he looked to Jason for some support here. Hesabeth was obviously not going to listen to anyone but Jason, but Farlow was disappointed when he saw Jason shrug nonchalantly. It was obvious that Jason also wanted the council to know that he and Hesabeth were on the same page, and Farlow decided that it was best to just leave them to their plan. Farlow nodded to the trio and spoke up.

"Very well then, I wish you the best of luck in the trial. Iโ€™ll do my part to draw supporters towards your cause, and Iโ€™ll try to keep any punishment they have planned to something within reason. Until later then."

Farlow turned to walk out of the room, and once he was outside, a group of elven guards marched into place behind him, and they all vanished through a large Dimensional Tear that Farlow opened!

Once Jason was alone with his girls, he looked down at Hesabeth.

"Are you sure about this, Hesabeth?"

Hesabeth smiled up at Jason and nodded. Hesabeth was happy that Jason did not undermine her authority in front of Farlow. Jason had waited until after Farlow was gone before he expressed his concern. Jason knew that Hesabeth was a very prideful woman, so Jason was sure that trying to tell her what to do in front of Farlow would only embarrass her. But now that they were alone, Jason needed to know what Hesabeth was thinking.

Hesabeth spoke up while folding her fan once again.

"You need not worry about anything, darling. The council is already aware that you and I are on the same page regarding this trial. And besides, I will not run away from my beloved when he most needs my support. With me beside you, I can assure you that they will not dare to overreach with their accusations or sanctions."

Jason smiled at Hesabethโ€™s explanation, and he leaned down and kissed her softly. Hesabeth blushed at the action, but she didnโ€™t fight it, and she closed her eyes and kissed Jason back with a smile. Once they separated, Jason grinned at the cute blush on Hesabethโ€™s face, and he thanked her for her help. Hesabeth waved Jasonโ€™s thanks away while trying and failing to kill her blush! At the side, Gina just giggled at Hesabethโ€™s reaction, and she leaned up and kissed Jasonโ€™s cheek before saying that they had to go. Jason nodded to her, and he turned to ask Stella if she was ready as well. Stella nodded seriously! Stella was still wearing the maidโ€™s uniform that had become her regular attire, and she had already placed her weapon into a spatial space, so she was prepared in case anyone attacked them. Jason let out a calm sigh once he was sure that they were all prepared, and he released enough mana to open a Dimensional Tear to the side before they all walked through.
