Stronger from Earth
Chapter 279 - 278: Path of Creation
Dao! Dao! Dao!
What is Dao! Wang Xuan's inner reflection began his own enlightenment. Why cultivate, and what kind of Dao to cultivate? Only when the two become one can efforts be halved and results doubled.
Enlightenment, seeking Dao, proving Dao, attaining Dao, and preserving Dao!
Wang Xuan sought his own spirit, deciding what Dao to follow. Only by truly understanding one's own heart can one create a cultivation technique of one's own.
The Confucian Family says: Cultivate oneself, regulate the family, govern the state, and bring peace to the world!
This is the great Dao pursued by scholars. As for what this Dao looks like and how it is realized, everyone has different interpretations.
Unity of knowledge and action is their way of practicing Dao.
People of the Buddhist Sect first enlighten themselves, then others, seeking a state where all is empty, seeking great freedom, everything in a word of "understanding".
As for the Taoist Family, many seek great freedom, with the Immortal Tao interwoven into the entire system.
Wang Xuan is actually unsure of what words to use to encapsulate the first half of his life. He has no clear ambition like an official aiming to become a great officer, nor does he constantly earn money like a businessman to change the times.
Over the past twenty years, his emotional journey has been quite vague. Previously, he wanted to solve his flawed foundation problem, continuously earning resources. Later, he wanted to survive, to make himself safer and avoid being killed. Now, he wants to see the future look of the Federation's civilization, to reach the peak of the cultivation path and enjoy the view from the mountain top.
"What is the meaning of my life?" Wang Xuan thought about this question, and later felt it was meaningless. Living itself is the greatest meaning.
Too few people live with clarity; too many live in confusion, pushed forward by time and the crowd, unconsciously becoming who they are now.
Heaven did not grant anyone a pure heart, nor eyes that see through everything. As a result, we become confused and go with the flow, enduring the torment of the heart and spirit.
Perhaps we were once pure, but purity was strangled to death because it's impossible to survive without scheming. We want to see through everything, to control everything in our hands, striving with wisdom and cunning but still struggling. When we shed those burdens, discarding what shouldn't stay and seeing things lightly, we truly see through; yet by then we might be near death.
These two extremes are near attainment of Dao, bringing happiness and spiritual peace; but the extremes are brief, while life's long-lasting companion is pain and bewilderment.
When one does not see clearly enough, one should establish their emotional backbone and live well. Someday, wisdom will accumulate to a certain level, seeing clearly from a high enough standpoint, one will know what one's path is.
"What is my Dao, which path should I take? Speaking broadly, the Void is just an upper limit. When unclear, it is better to choose based on 'preference'. What do I like, what do I enjoy doing?"
Wang Xuan knows what he likes; he wants cultivation resources, higher cultivation level, stronger power, to be at the top of the food chain.
Survival, life, enjoyment, etc.—in such an era, only with enough power can one obtain, otherwise, one can only struggle to survive.
Personally, he wants to be stronger than others, to explore the essence of the Cosmos and the mysteries of life. For his family, he wants to protect them, securing a lifetime of peace and freedom. For the Mother Star, he wants civilization to continue and thrive.
As for what he likes? Women, wealth, honor, indulgences and desires, he seems not to reject them.
Wang Xuan does not want to be unable to control his fate, so he must become stronger. Neither does he want to have nothing but cultivation, as that would be too dull.
What his future looks like is still only a blurred image to Wang Xuan, so for now, he's set a small temporary goal, like becoming the strongest on the Mother Star.
"I cultivate the Primordial Martial Arts of the Martial Immortal, practice the Path of Divine Beast Mimicry from Divine Elephant Golden Bell Shield, and also the Sword Dao of the Primordial Spirit Sword Embryo, the Path of the Primordial Spirit, and the Path of the Spirit from the Heart Spirit Demon Scripture.
These can be someone else's path, or they can be transformed into my path. I am extremely familiar with them, capable of absorbing their commonalities to strengthen my Dao.
Cultivation is like evolution, constantly growing stronger, combining internal and external resources to become even more powerful.
This process is similar to Alchemy, emphasizing creation, the Path of Creation, which is the road I want to take and the one that suits me."
A cultivation path that doesn't suit one's nature ultimately cannot go far. What Wang Xuan enjoys and is willing to invest his energy in, is his Dao.
The Path of Creation requires understanding the composition and essence of things, to use the Path of Creation to transform the mundane into extraordinary.
How to center the Path of Creation, employing all one's wisdom, cultivation knowledge, and principles, and referencing various cultivation techniques, to create a cultivation technique of one's own.
This is Wang Xuan's direction of effort.
From this day, Wang Xuan went into seclusion, focusing on creating a new technique. He would only come out when encountering bottlenecks or lacking inspiration, observing the city through the eyes of animals, and occasionally guiding the cultivation of Hongze and Shuishui sisters.
In his sight, Wang Xuan noticed several Demon Immortals. Strangely, including the Demon Elephant, several demons lived like ordinary people for such a long time without causing any trouble.
A few demons have evidently lived here for many years, amassing great wealth and becoming multi-millionaires, enjoying the life of a technological age.
It seems they came to the city just to experience its prosperity.
Time flew by, over two months passed, and Su Qiubai had entered the third year of high school. The summer heat of September had yet to dissipate. The Shuishui sisters in the Martial Arts Hall roamed freely, no longer confined to a palace as before.
Qiushui, lively and playful, was responsible for publicizing the culture of the Martial Arts Hall with some students, showing great interest in photography and filming.
She was naturally enchanting, unaware of her own allure. Every smile and movement caught the eyes of others. In merely two months, over a thousand students enrolled to study Martial Dao.
Even some women could not deny Qiushui's bewitching power; if she were male, they too would wish to be close to her.
Unfortunately, these people only saw the charming Qiushui in promotional videos and brochures, unaware that she was in the Blood Exchange Realm, and now stepped into the Meridian Opening layer.
The men wishing to pursue her found themselves ashamed upon learning her cultivation level, as a sixteen-year-old cultivator at the Meridian Opening was out of their league, leaving them with no hope of easy gains.
Chun Shui, preferring tranquility, spent most of her time cultivating, only strolling through the park during leisure, learning about horticulture, and observing the pavilions and terraces. She took the opportunity to learn some feng shui layouts and garden art. When looking at the Martial Arts Hall's area, she was not merely at leisure.
Gazing at the mountain peak, Chun Shui pondered. The last time the Mountain Lord descended was half a month ago. Usually, the Mountain Lord would come out every few days, making this half-month unusually different.
Near her feet, a black cat lay with its limbs on the ground, breathing deeply, expelling a mist-like breath. Its Inner Strength cultivation was evidently extraordinary.
A white rabbit, over two feet long, with white fur that couldn't hide its robust muscles, also weighed dozens of pounds, was strong and was refining Essence Qi, cultivating Inner Strength.
"Black Charcoal, White Jade, do you two miss the Mountain Lord? He hasn't come out in a long time. Does he not miss Chun Shui and Qiushui?" Chun Shui held a thread-bound book, but lacked the mood to read.
Black Charcoal shook its head; it did not miss Wang Xuan. Although Wang Xuan taught it an Inner Strength technique and gave it some Pills, he treated it as a pet.
"That fool surely doesn't know, that inside this cat's body is the reincarnation of a human soul. Such a dignified being like myself couldn't possibly be a pet?"
"Come, Black Charcoal, have some candy." Chun Shui handed over a Bone Tempering Pill.
Black Charcoal promptly took it into its mouth, accepting Chun Shui's caress, and refined the pill for cultivation.
"The taste is really nice; two more would be perfect." Black Charcoal completely forgot about its dignity as "human," thinking of getting Pills, what was dignity worth then?
