Stronger from Earth
Chapter 267 - 266: Just an Ordinary Person
Mount Olympus is located in Europe, and its fame is as towering as its snow-capped peak, commanding respect from all. Immortal Olaf possesses tremendous strength; it's said that after cultivation, he gains terrifying power, akin to the Titans of mythology.
Compared to Mount Olympus, the Immortal Holy Land, Eden Garden originates from Christianity. Its creator, Immortal Adam Yi, was once a devoted follower of Christianity, rising to prominence during the Era of Mythology after gaining great wisdom from the Holy Scripture.
Many people in the West still follow Christianity today because believers have the opportunity to enter the fabled paradise of Eden Garden. The foundation of Eden Garden is built on religion, and many disciples are chosen from families of believers.
As for the Slavic Divine Mountain in Eastern Europe, it too is an Immortal Holy Land. The powerful figure hails from the Slavic race and harbors tendencies of racial pride, requiring bloodline qualifications for disciples and maintaining distance from the two great holy lands of Western Europe, unable to align with them.
On the Mother Star, there are over a dozen Immortal Holy Lands affiliated with the human race, and a few for the demon race, with only about twenty immortals altogether.
In recent decades, the only powerhouse to ascend to the Immortal Realm is Yama from India. With his emergence, India now has two immortals, significantly amplifying its influence in the surrounding regions.
Andre, who is rather arrogant and aspires to pursue Lin Xiyue, comes from Mount Olympus. His golden wavy hair, white skin, and blue eyes make him handsome and attractive.
He looks down on the other two young men, for although their sects are first-class mountain gates, they are inferior to an Immortal Holy Land, making them beneath him.
The reason Immortal Holy Lands remain so lofty is not just due to the presence of immortals but also because powerful practitioners maintain order. Successors follow, with powerful figures at every level several times more than those of a lower-tiered mountain gate.
"Ha, a few Earth Level First Realm fellows, following their elders to broaden their horizons yet lacking self-awareness, dare to compete with me—utterly ignorant!" Andre snorted coldly.
He was also somewhat displeased with Wang Xuan standing in the middle; among the three, Wang Xuan was interfering unnecessarily. As a Third Realm Earth Knight, crushing the other two would be effortless.
"Please, guests, return now. Do not disturb Senior Sister Lin further. Also, restrain yourselves; Immortal Martial Mountain cherishes peace, and shedding blood would not be good." Wang Xuan looked at Andre, his gaze sharp and fierce.
The other two, seeing Andre ready to strike, had already prepared themselves. After being held back by Wang Xuan, they calmed down, knowing they were no match for Andre.
If it truly came to a fight, even if the two joined forces, they would still lose, which would be quite embarrassing.
"We naturally respect Immortal Martial Mountain's dignity; as guests, we should adhere to the host's wishes and apologize for today's disturbance," they said decisively as they left.
"Cowards, useless," Andre scoffed, his blood and energy as vast as the sea, his physique and strength immense. If he were to engage in battle, he could erupt with incredible power. He had dominated his peers these years, confident in his ability to easily subdue opponents.
"Please." Wang Xuan gestured for Andre to leave, knowing that lingering before Frost Snow Peak would lead to no good.
"No, I will continue to wait here until I see Fairy Lin and express my apologies to her face, seeking her forgiveness," Andre insisted, sticking to his idea—though his so-called apology likely was just an excuse to seize an opportunity.
Wang Xuan raised an eyebrow slightly before heading up the mountain with Su Xiaowei until they saw Lin Xiyue.
Frost Snow Peak was particularly cold and desolate, with a pitifully small number of people—just one steward and a few maids managing a few acres of vegetable gardens and the rest of the area planted with spiritual flowers and rare herbs.
In terms of simplicity and coldness, Frost Snow Peak was even more so than Butcher Mountain, with not even a mouse able to find sustenance.
A light layer of white frost and snow covered the ground. Lin Xiyue was at a stone table setting up a chessboard when she saw Wang Xuan approaching, she scrunched her small nose and retracted the piece she was about to place.
"Why are you here?" Lin Xiyue raised her skirt slightly and stood up.
The few maids were very quiet, exchanged a few polite words, and served tea. If the teacup were not made of warm jade, the tea would likely freeze in no time.
Su Xiaowei surveyed Frost Snow Peak and the extraordinarily frigid woman, feeling cold in her heart and on her body.
But this coldness came entirely from Lin Xiyue, whose path altered the environment, with her power and mindset continuously radiating outward, creating the chilly atmosphere of Frost Snow Peak.
"I came to see Senior Sister. You left the banquet a bit early, only tasted the food lightly, so I brought you a table of dishes.
Also, regarding the matter down the mountain, that man Andre is a guest. I couldn't engage in a spat, worried he might upset Senior Sister, so I came to check in." Wang Xuan waved his hand, and a table of delicacies appeared.
He knew Lin Xiyue had a fondness for Huizhou cuisine, especially certain stews. When her mother was in a good mood during Lin Xiyue's childhood, she would teach her to stew dishes, simmering them into something tasty and sweet.
"Then thank you, Junior Brother." Lin Xiyue maintained a distance, unwilling to say more.
"I'll drive away Andre from down the mountain for you. I'll take my leave first, Junior Sister." Wang Xuan patted Su Xiaowei's shoulder, and the two departed.
Lin Xiyue looked at the table of fine delicacies, her eyes wavering slightly, pondering if she would gain weight upon reaching the Celestial Immortal level.
She was still recovering from her injuries, but she already had some confidence in breaking through to the Divine Infant Realm. That life-and-death crisis did yield some gains.
"What a cold sister," remarked Su Xiaowei after descending Frost Snow Peak, finally feeling warmth again. "Why are there so many fairies around Brother Wang Xuan!" she mumbled.
"Aren't you also a little fairy?" Wang Xuan laughed, then thought better of it, "I forgot you're from the Buddhist Sect; you should be called little nun or female Bodhisattva."
"Uncle Wang is also a lecherous person." Su Xiaowei said in displeasure, though this version of Wang Xuan seemed more genuine.
Wang Xuan nodded: "I thought I was different, but later I realized I wasn't really different. I want much of what many people want—just an ordinary person."
"I don't believe it," Su Xiaowei snorted.
"You should believe it. Among the billions and trillions, I'm nothing special—not a hero or a great figure, just an ordinary person," Wang Xuan said.
I am just an ordinary person. Hearing this from Wang Xuan, Su Xiaowei truly believed it. Even though Wang Xuan is an Earth Immortal, a disciple of Immortal Martial Mountain, and a genius in the Alchemy Domain.
After walking halfway, Su Xiaowei looked down silently, then lifted her head after a while, defiantly stating, "Xiaowei is also an ordinary person!"
Andre waved a hand, and a firebird with a wingspan of more than twenty meters descended, ready to ride it into the sky to meet Lin Xiyue.
Wang Xuan came over, standing with his hands behind his back, said lightly, "Mr. Andre, I've already seen Senior Sister. She still doesn't want to see you."
"I will only believe it if she says it to my face," insisted Andre as his firebird prepared to take off.
Wang Xuan's expression grew colder, "With words spoken to such an extent, you should know better.
The Immortal Martial Mountain lacks no prodigies; those in the same realm who can defeat you are more than you can count on both hands. I've seen those who are proud and confident; they all behave like gentlemen at Frost Snow Peak.
If you upset Senior Sister Lin, what does it matter if you're from Mount Olympus? Do you believe you'll be beaten to the point of losing teeth, carried out of Immortal Martial Mountain today?
There are many who admire Lin Xiyue in Immortal Martial Mountain. If anyone learns she was bullied, dozens of people would likely come challenging you within days.
Electricity sparked in Andre's eyes as his expression also turned cold, "Is that a warning? You're also in the Sky Realm, yet your tone is even more arrogant than those two worthless ones before.
It seems you look down on me, thinking I'm undeserving of Fairy Lin. If True Immortal He said so, I'd take it seriously. But you? A weakling's words are just whimpers!"
Wang Xuan stretched lazily and said, "For a guest like you, I feel some distaste. Let me first tell you, I will take action, but don't say I attacked sneakily."
Andre sneered. How absurd for a fellow in the Earth Level First Realm to confidently speak to someone two great realms higher! He was about to mock when he saw a golden flash of lightning leap out from Wang Xuan's forehead, traversing impossibly fast towards him.
Fast!
Frighteningly fast!
Andre, at the Earth Immortal level, had never seen such a quick strike and could only perceive a golden flash, unable to make out what it was or even capture its trajectory.
Wang Xuan's Primordial Spirit Sword flew straight at him, piercing through Andre's forehead and out from the back of his head. By the time the Primordial Spirit Sword returned to his Sea of Consciousness, only a thousandth of a second had passed.
Yet, within that thousandth of a second, the Primordial Spirit Sword had already penetrated Andre's head, though bizarrely he remained unscathed.
Until a thin line of blood trickled from Andre's forehead, sliding down his eye and nose, then dripping to the ground, did he feel pain.
He opened his mouth to say something but saw Wang Xuan already strolling away, with a young girl behind him, their figures receding.
Reflecting on himself, Andre discovered only a small pinhole injury between his eyebrows and back of his head, with no other harm.
But precisely because of this, he found it terrifying.
Andre was drenched in cold sweat, his firebird crouching instinctively on the ground, fearful of the killing intent that had briefly swept over them.
