Governor Office,

Governor Martin was going through the report. He had just ended the call from the higher ups from the Human Alliance.

They were following the developments. After knowing that humans from the settlements were moving out, they sighed in relief.

They wanted the human settlements to be cleared out first. Once the call was ended, Martin went through other reports.

Right then, the officials barged into his place. They entered his place without permission.

Seeing that, Martin was taken aback. Anger filled his eyes the next moment. He didn't expect the people to barge in without getting his permission.

"What happened?" He asked.

The senior officer had dread all over his face. He controlled his nerves and said, "Beast Tamers are fleeing from the wilderness. Including the Tier-5 and Tier-6 Beast Tamers."

"One or two Tier-7 Beast Tamers are injured as well. Everyone felt the coercion of a powerful beast in the wilderness," he added.

Hearing that, Martin stood up from his seat. He immediately thought of the Tier-9 Black Centipede. He feared the Beast Tide had occurred.

Swoosh!

He didn't say anything and left the room. He went straight towards the city wall in mid air. He wanted to see for himself whether any beast tide was happening.

In a flash, he reached the city wall and flew over it. He entered the wilderness and went deeper. His gaze fell on the Beast Tamers fleeing towards the city wall.

It didn't take long for him to see another shocking scene. The corrupted beasts were fleeing towards the border as well. He was stunned.

He had thought the beast tide had started, but it appeared the situation was something else. He then saw the direction the beasts were fleeing from.

All the beasts were fleeing in three different directions except one. He moved toward that direction.

Along the way, he saw beast corpses on the ground. There were injured Beast Tamers on the ground. They were being helped out by fellow Beast Tamers.

Swoosh!

Seeing that, he went down to the ground and asked them about the incident. The beast tamers immediately recognised Governor Martin. They all relaxed.

Governor Martin is a Tier-8 Beast Tamer. With his presence here, they felt safe. Then one of them started recounting things.

They were all just hit by overwhelming coercion earlier. It happened so fast that before they knew it, they were all injured.

Hearing that, Martin's expression changed. He saw that these people were Tier-5 Beast Tamers. Their statements were consistent with the officials.

Martin realised that must be the work of Tier-8 and above Corrupted beasts, because the news of the Tier-6 and Tier-7 being hurt had reached his ears earlier.

He then advised the Beast Tamers to go back to the city faster. Then he left the place. He moved in the same direction.

He kept on finding more people. It didn't take long for him to see the human settlement ahead.

Seeing that, he was shocked. He had almost forgotten that there was a human settlement in this direction. When he reached the place, he was stunned by the scenery.

The ground was dyed in blood. He saw the corpses of people over there. Their corpses were pitch black in color.

Swoosh!

The next second, he reached a corpse. But he didn't dare to touch it. He felt the sign of the Tier-9 Beast power in the black liquid.

His expression changed drastically. He flew high above and scanned the whole place. He saw the same situation everywhere.

More than thousands of corpses were scattered across the ground. Their position of death showed that they had tried to flee before ending up dead.

Suddenly, his gaze fell on one particular spot. He froze. Because the corpse was none other than Governor Leon.

"Leon," Martin uttered before approaching the corpse.

When he got there, he looked at the corpse and saw the face. His eyes filled with disbelief and fear. He immediately thought of the Tier-9 Beast lurking in the unexplored region.

He knew the Tier-9 Beast was lurking there. That's why they sought help from the Human alliance. They got the instructions from the higher ups.

Just as they were following the instructions, the Tier-9 Beast struck all of a sudden. It had killed Leon. He didn't expect the beast to have a poison ability, especially a wide scale attack.

If the Tier-9 Beast were to attack the city, it could cause more problems for them. The city was under serious threat.

He then looked at the corpse of Leon. It was not time for grief. Looking at these corpses, he felt anger over the grief.

He wanted to inform Governor Orion as soon as possible. He tried to collect as many corpses as possible into the storage ring, but it had a limit.

He saw the human settlement near him. He decided to place the corpses on the ground there. He started working.

He spent half an hour shifting the corpses there. Then he went back to the city. When he reached the governor office, he found Governor Orion there.

Orion was on a call with the higher ups. Knowing that, he snatched the device from him.

Martin then started reporting.

Orion was stunned. But before he could say anything, he heard the shocking news from him.

Orion stood up the next second, his face full of disbelief and anger. He didn't expect the death of Leon and the people in the human settlement to reach his ears.

Orion's heart filled with anger.

The higher ups on the call were even more shocked. They didn't expect a Tier-8 Beast Tamer to be killed by the Tier-9 Corrupted beasts. It was huge news.

They couldn't delay anymore. The Tier-9 Corrupted Beast seemed to be more dangerous.

It had a poisonous ability. The danger of the beast was more severe than the Tier-9 Sky Crocodile.

The higher ups then ended the call. They were going to send the available Tier-9 Beast Tamer to the city right away.

If no one was available, then one of the higher ups would be dispatched. Martin then turned towards Orion.

He didn't know what to say. His eyes were calm, but they hid a deep anger.
