Starting Sign-In from a Billionaire God
Chapter 1222 - 1221
Lin Fan washed his hands clean and planned to leave. Originally, this matter had nothing to do with him; he just happened to encounter it. Now that it’s delayed him a bit, he needs to hurry or he might not make it to Southern Yunnan tonight.
Lin Fan was a little speechless. If it were an ordinary matter, he wouldn’t have bothered, like the incident this morning with the High-End Lady walking her dog without a leash; Lin Fan handled it simply. But upon spotting those criminals, Lin Fan didn’t hesitate and immediately drove his car into them.
In fact, when the criminals’ van overtook him, Lin Fan had already sensed something was wrong with the vehicle, but he didn’t pay much attention initially. There’s just too much in this world; regardless of how capable he is, how much can he truly handle?
Until he saw the van being intercepted by the police, criminals attempting to flee, and the police in pursuit, if they managed to escape to the highway, they’d likely cause a horrific accident, injuring or killing many innocent people.
If Lin Fan hadn’t encountered it, he wouldn’t have gotten involved. But since he did, and he had the ability to intercept them, he did it effortlessly.
He decisively forced the van to stop.
What happened next was unexpected for Lin Fan. These vicious criminals actually started a firefight with the police, and a policeman was shot and injured!
Having intervened, he decided to help until the end. Lin Fan didn’t hesitate to step out of the car, using flying stones to neutralize the criminals’ firepower, and rescued the injured policeman in the process.
All of this wasn’t a difficult task for him; it could be said to be a mere act of convenience. So, having done all this, Lin Fan intended to leave.
Seeing Lin Fan walk straight to his car without a word, everyone admired him greatly, calling it a graceful exit!
For a moment, Lin Fan seemed to be a legend in everyone’s eyes.
"Hey, young man, wait a minute!"
A middle-aged policeman caught up and stopped Lin Fan.
Lin Fan halted his steps and turned his head, asking, "Officer, do you need me to do something?"
The middle-aged policeman said, "No, young man, you’ve helped us tremendously. Thanks to you, we managed to catch these criminals easily. I’m here on behalf of the police force to thank you."
Lin Fan smiled and replied, "No need, I’m just a concerned citizen who happened to be there and lent a hand."
The middle-aged policeman said, "Young man, you’re really amazing and brave. You’ve done something truly righteous. These criminals were trafficking illegal goods, vicious and difficult to deal with. It’s fair to say you saved all of us. Could you give us your contact information? We plan to request a commendation for you later."
Lin Fan replied, "No need, it was just a small effort—you’re the ones who deserve commendation. You are the guardians of the people, respected in everyone’s hearts. What I did today was a token of respect for you, so there’s no need for any award. Farewell."
After saying that, Lin Fan nodded and then left.
Hearing Lin Fan’s words, the middle-aged policeman suddenly felt a sense of respect and saluted Lin Fan, expressing his admiration for Lin Fan’s spirit.
Lin Fan got back in the car, started the engine, and under everyone’s gaze, passed the highway exit.
This highly capable young man helped them yet sought no recompense, leaving everyone in great admiration. He’s just like the legendary knight, with the demeanor of an ancient hero!
The surgeon felt rather regretful for not having the chance to meet Lin Fan. Lin Fan was definitely the most extraordinary doctor he had ever seen—no exceptions. Strangely, this miraculous healer in his early twenties wasn’t widely known; truly a master among the common folk.
Lin Fan drove out of the highway exit, heading towards a gas station as planned.
"Are you okay?" Lin Fan asked, looking at Yun Qingyao, who remained silent.
Yun Qingyao shook her head without speaking, her emotions seemed unsettled.
Lin Fan said, "I was busy saving the injured officer earlier; his situation was critical and I almost ignored that criminal..."
Honestly, Lin Fan felt a bit scared; he almost failed. If the pockmarked face had actually pulled the trigger, he probably wouldn’t have been able to save Yun Qingyao.
He didn’t want Yun Qingyao to die. He had traveled far distances with Yun Qingyao to Southern Yunnan to solve a problem. If she died, the trouble would be significant, making it exceedingly difficult to find a better solution.
"Hmph..."
Yun Qingyao glanced at Lin Fan, "If I died, shouldn’t you be happy?"
As she spoke, it was unclear if it was out of grievance or something else, but her eyes reddened instantly.
Lin Fan asked, "Why should I be happy?"
Yun Qingyao said, "You must hate me; I kidnapped your girlfriend and caused you so much trouble—you’d rather I die."
Lin Fan: "..."
Yun Qingyao sneered, "Got nothing to say, eh? If not for my usefulness, you wouldn’t have wanted to save me earlier."
Lin Fan: "..."
Silence implied agreement. Yun Qingyao didn’t quite understand why she suddenly got angry, but she awkwardly turned away, ignoring Lin Fan.
Lin Fan thought she was blaming him for not noticing the pockmarked face earlier, almost putting her life at risk, so he didn’t take it to heart.
Later, they found a gas station, refueled, and located themselves in a small city. The gas station area was bustling with cars and people.
Lin Fan stood nearby watching the employees refueling, when a little girl with a flower basket approached.
"Brother, buy a flower for the lady, okay?" The girl sweetly smiled standing before Lin Fan.
Seeing the little girl, Lin Fan smiled and said, "Little sister, you’re quite young to be selling flowers. Where are your parents?"
Upon hearing this, the little girl’s expression dimmed and she said, "Dad died of illness last year, and now mom is sick too, bedridden. I need to earn money for mom’s treatment."
Her eyes reddened as she spoke.
Lin Fan said, "I’m sorry, little sister, it’s sad to hear that."
The little girl wiped her tears and said, "Brother, are you buying a flower? Buy one for your girlfriend."
Yun Qingyao overheard. The girlfriend the little girl referred to was her.
She thought Lin Fan would clarify to the girl that she wasn’t his girlfriend, but Lin Fan didn’t. He just smiled slightly.
"Alright, I’ll buy one. I’ll take this rose," Lin Fan said.
The girl took a rose from the basket and handed it to Lin Fan: "Here you go, that’s your flower. You can use this to pay, nine yuan ninety cents."
The girl showed the payment QR code she had around her neck.
Lin Fan swiftly scanned and paid, taking the rose.
The girl successfully sold a flower and said happily, "Thank you, brother."
Then she carried her basket away, looking for the next customer.
Lin Fan quickly finished refueling, paid, and returned to the car.
"This is for you." Lin Fan handed the rose to Yun Qingyao, placing it on the car dashboard in front of her.
Yun Qingyao looked at the vibrant and beautiful rose, feeling absurdly happy inside—it was the first time someone had given her a flower in her life. She never imagined the first person to give her flowers would be Lin Fan.
"Hmph, I’m not your girlfriend; why give me a flower?" Yun Qingyao said with apparent disdain on the surface.
