Chapter 195: Chapter 195: Unification

As the silhouette of the Holy Temple of Ascalon grew to blot out the horizon, the air became heavy with the scent of incense and impending static.

Adonis stood on the prow of the Dragon Palace, his eyes fixed on the golden dome that pulsed with a desperate, rhythmic light. Vexa stood at his shoulder, her holographic form flickering with a warning red tint.

"Master, the atmospheric density is off the charts," Vexa reported. "The scanners are detecting a massive accumulation of divine ether within the temple’s inner sanctum. It isn’t a defensive wall. It’s an invitation. They have opened every gate, dropped every ward. It’s a vacuum designed to pull you in."

Adonis didn’t look surprised. He didn’t even look concerned. "They think they’ve found the one thing I can’t overwrite. They think they can trap the Architect in his own imagination."

"The Envoy of the Void is behind this, Master. The logic suggests a recursive loop. They intend to isolate your consciousness and feed you a simulated reality where you have already won. While you are lost in that bliss, they will sever your connection to Gracia and the army."

Adonis let out a short, dry laugh. "They want to give me a perfect world? How generous. Vexa, open the Harem System Interface. I need to make a purchase."

the translucent blue screen shimmered into existence before him, visible only to his eyes. The numbers in the corner glowed with a soft, pulsing light: Harem Force: 520,000.

"Show me the Transcendental Tier of the Illusion Arts," Adonis commanded.

The menu scrolled rapidly, displaying techniques that cost more than entire kingdoms. His eyes settled on a title that glowed with a deep, abyssal violet.

[Art: Myriad Heavens Refraction]

[Type: Divine Illusion / Mind Override]

[Cost: 100,000 Harem Force]

[Description: Allows the user to layer a secondary reality over an existing illusion. If the user is trapped in a mental loop, this skill turns the trap into a mirror, forcing the creators of the illusion to inhabit the very dream they intended for the victim. The user becomes the administrator of the trap.]

"Buy it," Adonis said. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

[100,000 Harem Force Deducted. Synthesis Successful.]

immedietly, a surge of cold, liquid knowledge poured into Adonis’s mind.

His violet eyes shifted for a moment, the pupils replaced by rotating geometric patterns before settling back into their human form. He felt the weight of the new skill settling into his soul, a weapon designed specifically to break the pride of those who thought they were masters of the mind.

"Master?" Vexa asked, sensing the shift in his energy.

He replied,

"The trap is set, and I am going to walk right into it. Tell Rai to halt the army at the outer gates. No one enters the Temple but me. Gracia, stay close to the structure, but do not attack unless I give the mental signal."

"My Love, I feel the poison in that place. Let me just crush the dome. I can grind their ’God’ into the dirt."

"No, Gracia. If we crush it now, they’ll die thinking they were superior. I want them to realize they were slaves before they draw their last breath. Trust me."

"Always, my Architect," she whispered.

Adonis stepped off the balcony. Instead of falling, he glided down on a platform of violet ether, landing softly in the deserted courtyard of the Holy Temple.

The silence was absolute.

There were no priests, no guards, no sounds of prayer. Only the massive, ivory doors of the inner sanctum stood open, beckoning him.

He walked through the threshold.

The moment he stepped into the center of the sanctum, the world shifted. The stone floor vanished, replaced by a sea of white light.

Hum.

A humming sound filled his ears. It was a frequency designed to vibrate at the exact level of a human brain’s theta waves.

"Welcome, Adonis Kingsbane," the Envoy of the Void smirked, standing atop a pedestal of a spinning lotus.

"You have reached the end of your journey. Why fight anymore? Why struggle to build a world of stone and blood when we can give you a world of pure, eternal ecstasy?"

Adonis felt the "pull" of the recursive loop. He felt the system trying to map his desires. He saw images of his beautiful wives, also Gracia in her human form, and others, waiting for him in a paradise of golden light.

He felt the sensation of absolute power, of a world where every whim was a command.

"Is this it? This is your master plan? A illusion cage?"

"It is a mercy, Adonis Kingsbane" the first Archon appeared beside the Envoy, his face filled with smug triumph. "You are currently being disconnected from your Empire. In the physical world, your body is a husk. You are ours now."

Adonis bowed his head, letting his shoulders slump.

"It... it’s so warm here. Everything I ever wanted."

"Yes," the Envoy hissed, his eyes gleaming. "Give in to the dream. Let the loop take you."

Deep within his mind, Adonis whispered: [Myriad Heavens Refraction: Activate.]

The white light didn’t break. Instead, it rippled. To the Archons and the Envoy, it looked like Adonis had finally succumbed. They saw him fall to his knees, his eyes glazed over as he stared at the phantoms of his harem.

"We have him," the female Archon laughed, stepping forward. "He was so easy. All that power, and he’s still just a man driven by his lust and ego."

"Start the severance. Begin draining his ether-core into the Temple’s treasury. We will use his own strength to rebuild the Central Continent."

The Archons raised their hands, chanting in a forgotten language of gods. They felt the rush of power. They felt the ether flowing toward them. They saw the holographic map of the world turning back from violet to gold.

They saw Gracia, outside the temple, becoming still and docile as a perfect duplicate of Adonis stood beside her.

"It’s working! The world is returning to us! I can feel the world awakening!"

They spent hours, or what felt like hours, reveling in their victory.

They watched as they "undid" everything Adonis had built. They saw the Dragon Empire crumble, the soldiers vanish into smoke, and the Western Continent sink back into the sea.

The woman cried out in joy,

"We are the Supremes again! The Architect is nothing but a foundation for our new age!"

Adonis, still on his knees in the center of the room, slowly looked up.

But his eyes weren’t glazed. They were glowing with a terrifying, predatory violet light.

"Is that so?" he asked.

The voice didn’t come from the "dream" Adonis. It came from the air itself. It came from the floor, the walls, and the very souls of the Archons.

The Envoy of the Void froze.

"What... why are you speaking? The loop is closed! You shouldn’t have a voice!"

"The loop is closed, but you aren’t the ones outside looking in. You’re the ones inside looking out," Adonis said, standing up with agonizing slowness.

"What are you talking about?" the first Archon demanded, but his voice suddenly sounded tinny, like a recording.

Adonis snapped his fingers.

The golden paradise around the Archons shattered like cheap glass. The "victory" they had been celebrating evaporated. The golden map of the world dissolved into a bleeding mess of violet energy.

They weren’t in a new age. They were still in the cold, dark sanctum, and Adonis was standing over them, his hand glowing with a power that made the Envoy’s fire look like a flickering candle.

"You wanted to trap me in my desires? But I have no desires that I cannot take for myself. But you... you desire control. You desire relevance. You desire a world where you are the masters."

He waved his hand, and the Archons suddenly found themselves strapped into chairs made of obsidian thorns.

"What is this?" the female Archon screamed. "Stop this! System: Terminate! System: Delete!"

"The System doesn’t hear you," Adonis said. "I bought the administrative rights to this room five minutes ago. Your ’Final Protocol’ was a cute attempt, but you forgot one thing: I am the one who writes the Chapters now."

He leaned down, his face inches from the Envoy of the Void.

"You told them you could fool Gracia with a duplicate. Do you want to see how she reacted to your ’perfect’ copy?"

Adonis adjusted the refraction. The Archons looked through the ’windows’ of the sanctum. They didn’t see a docile beast. They saw Gracia’s massive head pressed against the glass of the temple dome, her teeth bared in a grin that was nothing short of demonic.

At her side, the ’duplicate’ Adonis was being torn apart, limb by limb, by the real Theodore, who was growling with a ferocity that shook the earth.

"She knew the moment your illusion touched her. She found it... insulting. And now, she’s waiting for me to let her in."

"This can’t be!" the Envoy shrieked, his form beginning to disappear. "I am a fragment of the Creator! I am the Void!"

"No. You’re a bug," Adonis corrected. "And I’m the debugger."

Adonis reached out and gripped the Envoy’s throat. The white fire hissed and died under his touch.

"You wanted a recursive loop? Here is yours. For the next ten thousand years of perceived time, you will sit in this room and watch as I dismantle every single thing you ever loved. You will watch as I turn your ’Holy Temple’ into a kennel for my hounds. You will watch as I erase the name of your gods from every book, every mind, and every stone."

"Please!" the first Archon begged. "We will serve! We will be your administrators!"

"I already have a Vexa. I don’t need redundant fools ."

He turned his back on them and walked toward the center of the sanctum, where the Core of Ascalon (a massive, rotating diamond of pure divine energy) sat pulsing.

"Vexa, initiate the Merge. Use the Harem Force as a medium. I want the Western and Central cores fused by sunset."

"Initiating now, Master. The Archons’ credentials have been revoked. The Gloria system is now responding exclusively to the Kingsbane Signature."

He then looked at the Harem System notification lingering in his vision.

[World Event: Unification of the Two Continents Successful.]

[Reward: Unlimited Domain Authority.]

[New Objective: Breach the Firmament. The Other ’Creators’ are watching.]

Adonis smirked, "Let them watch. I hope they like the ending."
