SSS Grade Pervert: I Rule The World
Chapter 45: Hollow Sky
Ron walked out of the rune, moving towards the shadow that was crawling on the ground like a snail. Its body was burning in the hellfire, yet it was crawling nonstop. Trying to reach Selina and Alex, who were lying unconscious. As usual, they were useless.
I didn’t know why the hell they were even here for; they hadn’t done a single thing to help us out, being dead weight and nothing else.
"Something is wrong with him," Emi suddenly said to me.
"Don’t tell me, he also got possessed?" I instantly thought of the possible outcome; luckily, it wasn’t the case, according to Emi.
"Not likely..." Emi said so, but her voice was uncertain. She didn’t know if Ron had gotten possessed or not, surely. All she could do was guess. She didn’t have exposure to these superpowers for a long time; in fact, she had gotten them just an hour ago.
She couldn’t really make any decision, afraid that it might turn out wrong. So, obviously, I got the final say in every decision we will be making as the strongest and smartest person here.
I didn’t interrupt Ron, letting him go for the shadow as we still had our plan B ready. With the void eyes, I wasn’t really worried about things getting wrong. I was sure being able to run away from here, with Emi, that’s all that matters for the time being. I couldn’t possibly bet our lives on a line to kill some random Overlord-grade monster. I got higher-level monsters and demons to deal with. And... I also needed the entire world to know my name as the strongest human in the entire history of humanity.
I have the system, if I still fail to do that, then what will be the use of me having a system? More importantly, I still hadn’t used my system to the fullest, just maintained my face value, for the day when every single human would be worshipping me as their hero.
"Stop being a lunatic, wouldn’t you also have my talent, help me out." Emi was getting jealous of my Mighty Self and was also unable to keep the shadow in control, as she asked for my help.
It wasn’t a big deal for me. I stretched my hand and used her Light of Hope to stun the Shadow in one place. While that mf Ron was walking in slow motion towards the shadow, trying to farm aura, even in this situation. It was really inspiring for me, alas, I didn’t like trying something funny when the situation is out of my control.
So much time had passed, and we had killed so many monsters, yet the ritual still continued; we didn’t know who that Overlord Grade monster was, or it might still be hiding in the darkness, watching us struggle to fight his minions. Now, I truly understand the scale of horror that Overlord could have. Though my understanding was still limited, it was enough for me to have a rough understanding of the myth of an Overlord.
Ron was standing in front of the shadow, his hand reaching toward those dark, eerie tentacles of shadows. As he touched the shadow, it instantly tried to lunge at him, and that darkness wrapped around his entire body, turning his entire body in pitch black statue.
"What should we do?" Emi was hoping this mf would rip the shadow into pieces, the way he walked towards it, but from the look of it, he had become its dinner.
"What we are already doing," I answered, watching the show, I still have hope for Ron, this guy wasn’t really brain dead. If he got out of the demoness’s control, he shouldn’t fall into another trap that easily.
But who knows, he might actually be a fool. I continued watching as I noticed the shadow was slowly becoming transparent. Ron figure came into view from inside, and he was completely fine. My eyes locked on him. I was still worried about him, pulling out something strange.
As the shadow was completely gone. Ron was the only one standing there, like a statue. We were still wasting our mana to maintain the Light of Hope above his head. I was worried that turning it off would cause some unknown chaos.
"Ron!" I called his name, wanting to know if he was still there or had been possessed.
He looked at me, then he pointed at the ground beside me. There was his obsidian black ring, lying just a little distance away from me. While I was looking at the ring, he suddenly jumped into the sky, going towards the hollow sky, where all the souls had been sacrificed.
I didn’t know what he was trying to pull off by doing this. I grabbed his ring in my palm; its texture was smooth and cold.
"What is he trying to do?" Emi asked, but she couldn’t understand what this hollow was for. All she knew was that the demoness had ordered all the souls to go into and all of them vanished.
Sadly, she was expecting the answer from me; she shouldn’t have known by now that I was as clueless as her about the situation. All my plans and thoughts were coming from the novels I read, not from understanding our situation clearly.
"He might be trying to break the formation," I still answered.
"If you don’t know, you could say so?" Emi replied, giving me a helpless look.
"At least I know more than you?" I replied. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"I know how much you know..." She was really getting cocky from the powers I shared with her. I don’t like it, but I had to take her out of here alive, so there’s no way of backing out.
Both of us stared at the sky, hoping for Ron to do something to break this formation. Though I didn’t have high hopes for him.
As we continued watching, soon enough, we heard the strange ghostly cries coming from the hollow sky. I quickly pulled Emi close, and both of us activated the Void Eyes just in case. We didn’t know a monster might jump on us from nowhere.
