SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 162: A Well-deserved Victory
"Is it finally over..."
That was the question in the mind of every student as they stood on their toes, all eyes on White who was down flat on the ground outside the arena.
The battle had been a brutal display of brute force, one that had made them not ready to witness another savage brawl.
Zion’s transformation was done, having reverted back to his normal grinning human form, and now one could see the sweat that covered his body, revealing his exhaustion.
But with White down, and only him left standing, it was clear who the winner should be.
’He beat me.’
The thought echoed in White’s head as he looked at the ground inches from his eyes, forcing all he could to hold back the laughter.
He had been bitten by a pseudo 2nd-year student.
And he wasn’t beaten with some sort of trickery or cunning intelligence, he had been faced one-on-one, in close combat, and had been crushed by his opponent.
[His Demonic Awakening is very powerful. And weird enough, right now, I feel like the boy himself is barely using its full potential. Like there’s even so much more from it than he could even reveal.]
[It’s essentially an awakening that amalgamated Demonic Energy + Pure Powerful Outbursts, creating incredibly lethal brute force.]
’A worthy awakening, huh?’
[It won’t be a bad addition to your Limitless Awakening.]
The system said and White grinned.
STEP!
STEP!
The sound of footsteps echoed out as Zion stepped forward, a step at a time, walking toward White outside the arena.
"With the announcer not calling off the fight, I can guess I haven’t done a perfect enough job."
Zion said, his hands picking up White’s head from the ground.
The sight of his face made his evil grin pause, and an unconscious feeling of danger overwhelmed him, forcing him to take a couple steps backward, but he didn’t move far before White grabbed at his head, dragging him down and then—
BOOOOOOOOOM!
CRAACK!
The sickening sound of bone crunching rang out as his right knee smashed into Zion’s face. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
It sent him tumbling back, only to be grabbed once more—
BOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOM!
BOOOOOOOM!
Three more incredibly lethal strikes, and Zion was brought down on all fours, blood spurting out from his face, with eyes widening in shock.
’So... so much power.’
He thought, watching as White lowered before him and reached two of his fingers, landing them on his forehead.
An inexplicable blue halo appeared on White’s fingers, dispersing into Zion before it came back, returning into White’s fingers.
"I’ve never seen anyone with such insane brute force, paired with such good close combat ability. You deserve victory, Zion."
White said before rising up to his feet and stepping away from the arena.
"I concede!"
Creeping silence followed, leaving every student including the announcer unable to muster a word.
Who won?
That was the question in their minds and while it had been clear moments ago, it wasn’t anymore now.
There was Zion on all fours, blood dripping out from his face, and his opponent, White, even after conceding, was still walking out of the arena by himself.
Who was the winner then?
"WINNER! ZION DEVILISH!"
The announcer announced wildly and following that—
THUMP!
Zion collapsed to the side, falling unconscious immediately as the staff rushed in to take him to the hospital.
"Don’t tell me he’s lost his Limitless Skill after fusing with that body?"
Vice Rohan asked, looking as White’s silhouette disappeared into the distance while Zion was being rushed away.
"He hasn’t lost it."
Vice Mimura replied.
"So he’s taking it easy on them, huh? Good to see he’s got the potential to swallow a loss."
Vice Rohan said with a chuckle before rising up, turning to Mimura.
"I think you worry too much about him, Mimura. I can’t pass the verdict of having a forcefield that forces him into non-contact with any girl, with the excuse of having them both focused on their training."
"I know you worry about your student, Nova, but personally, I think anyone who gets along with him will only get better."
"No one in love ever gets better."
Mimura called out with a knitted, unrelenting eyebrow.
She had come here to have Vice Rohan’s permission behind her to place a gender field on White. It was a steady field of energy that zaps him on getting into too close proximity with a female member, wanting to use the excuse of him running around girls slowing down his training.
Though, her true purpose was to get him away from Nova.
But with how the fight had gone, and how it was obviously clear to them he was even restricting his strength for the students, her reason of him needing to focus was out the window.
"I’m sure the millions of happily married people in this world would be more than happy to prove you wrong."
Vice Rohan said, chuckling while reaching for the exit, but then paused, his face gaining a halo of seriousness.
"We’re mentors, Mimura. Teachers, not philosophers."
"We don’t define how a student should live their lives, irrespective of the lessons we’ve learned personally from our own lives."
"You have faced a trauma of betrayal, beyond anything I’ve ever seen, but you’re still a mentor. You should train Nova, both in physical training and help her out with theory knowledge."
"That’s what being a mentor is."
"If you try to force on her ideologies born from your own personal experience, try to push her away from what is most likely her first love—"
"You’re not mentoring anymore."
"All of this is a mistake of theirs, that will only blow up in their face."
Vice Mimura mused beneath their breath.
"Then let them make their mistakes, Mimura. They’re still young; they’ll learn from it."
"It’s better than trying to skew things, a good that only you will be able to see, and all they would do is repulse you for it."
He said, the words echoing through the room as he left.
