Spy-x-War Showdown
Chapter 391 - 379: Funeral for Two People
Mike and Charlesās graves were on a small slope in the northern suburbs of London. šš£šš²š°ššš§š š§šš.šššŗ
To the north of the graveyard stood several large oak trees, to the south lay a grassland, the scenery was quite beautiful.
However, Mike and Charlesās graves were not adjacent; there was a small distance between them because the spots on either side of Charlesās grave were reserved for Brian and Paul, or perhaps other brothers from Pandora in the future. If in the coming days their graves were to be moved back to the United States for burial, their spots might change. If not, this place would also become the site for Brian and Paulās ceremonies, so space had to be left in advance.
The funeral for Mike and Charles was simple, but very solemn, and lacked nothing that should be present.
Yang Yi still couldnāt walk; he sat in a wheelchair, let Kate push him to attend the funeral, but upon arriving at the gravesite, he stood up and insisted on participating in the entire ceremony.
"Today, we bid farewell to our best comrades and friends."
Paul, dressed in a priestās robe, was indeed a proper priest, and there was no one more fitting to preside over the funeral. However, after speaking just one sentence from the Bible, Paul fell silent for a long time.
After a lengthy pause, Paul spoke in a deep voice, "In life unknown, in death unspoken, their lives need no oneās judgment."
After rigidly uttering two sentences, he stepped aside and, looking at the two coffins already placed in the graves, he said solemnly, "If anyone else wants to say their goodbyes before them, please speak now."
Brian stepped in front of Mikeās grave and said solemnly, "I will carry on your will, fulfill your wishes for you, whether you are in heaven or hell, wait for me, I will come to find you."
After saying the last two sentences to Mikeās coffin, Brian walked to Charlesās grave, took a deep breath, bowed his head for a long time, and finally said, "Brother, you go first, I will follow shortly."
After speaking, Brian turned and left.
Yang Yi didnāt say much; he just let Kate assist him to Mikeās grave, bowed deeply and said softly, "Thank you, Mike."
Then Yang Yi walked to Charlesās grave, bowed deeply as well, and said softly, "Thank you, Charles."
This funeral was quite out of the ordinary and did not conform to any rules, but nobody cared.
Those from the Organization of Water who could move were all present, Yang Yi, assisted by Kate, slowly walked around Mike and Charlesās graves once, and then Rodriguez and Zhang Yong began to fill the graves with the excavated soil.
Seeing the first handful of soil fall on Mikeās coffin, Yang Yi felt an acute pain in his heart.
Kate gently pushed Yang Yi and then whispered, "Sit in the wheelchair, letās go first."
"No, Iām fine."
Xiao Ran furrowed her brow, she pulled over the wheelchair and placed it behind Yang Yi, then she pressed on Yang Yiās shoulders and said in a firm voice, "Sit down, go home, be good!"
Yang Yi obediently sat down; he indeed felt his body was at its limit. It was already good enough that he survived the near-fatal injury, and the ten days or so time had not been sufficient for him to recover to the point where he could walk freely.
Furthermore, attending the heartbreaking activity of a funeral was even more detrimental to Yang Yiās physical recovery.
Brian also couldnāt walk; after enduring the pain and attending the entirety of Mike and Charlesās funeral, Paul, who was also injured but now mobile, began pushing Brianās wheelchair back.
Paul refused othersā kindness, insisting on pushing Brianās wheelchair himself.
The others stayed behind to help, needing to fill the grave and erect the cross, which required manpower.
Yang Yi walked parallel to Brian in his wheelchair, and after they had covered some distance, Brian suddenly said, "When are we leaving."
"I need to meet with Tang Guoās brother, after that, weāll leave."
"How are we leaving, is it decided?"
"First to France."
Itās quite convenient to travel from the United Kingdom to France, just by taking a train through the Channel Tunnel. As long as MI5 does not intend to stop them from leaving the UK, Yang Yi and his group should be able to leave quite easily.
Under Brianās leadership, Yang Yi and the others had done everything they could to evade MI5ās surveillance. Staying in a country villa gave them hope of not being discovered by MI5 for the time being, but if they wanted to leave, it would be much more difficult to do so by regular means. However, if necessary, they could still opt for the option of smuggling themselves out by boat. It couldnāt be said to be very difficult, just a bit troublesome.
Yang Yi was pushed back to the country villa. Kate really hoped he would rest immediately, but although Yang Yi was indeed very tired, he didnāt want to rest.
Yang Yi could not rest. The UK was not a place to stay for long, and it was better to leave sooner rather than later. Temporary calm did not mean there was no longer any danger. Currently, the Organization of Water was facing too many risks, whether from the CIA or MI5, both not to be taken lightly. It was best to hurry while the deception was not yet exposed.
Yang Yi now had an identity as a double agent for MI5. Honestly, if it werenāt for this identity reducing MI5ās surveillance of him, it was hard to say whether he could have stayed hidden until now.
But Yang Yiās role as a double agent was built on lies. Once MI5 found out that Yang Yi had no real connection with the CIA, the consequences would be hard to predict.
Yang Yi only sat for a moment, and as soon as everyone had returned, he immediately said, "Xiao Ran, Brother Yong, both of you come with me to Londonās Chinatown."
Yang Yi wanted to meet Tang Guo, and of course, her brother. He thought it better to go with Xiao Ran and Zhang Yong, as they were all Chinese, and perhaps it would make negotiations easier.
But after some thought, Yang Yi turned to Chris and said, "Chris should go too."
At that moment, Rodriguez stepped forward, urgently saying, "Boss, take me with you!"
Yang Yi shook his head and replied, "No, too many people isnāt good. You guys get ready at home, weāll have to leave soon."
Rodriguez looked disappointed, but Zhang Yong then asked, "Going for a negotiation? Are we playing hardball or soft?"
Yang Yi said helplessly, "What hardball? Donāt think too much. Iāll be content just to see Tang Guo this time. If we really canāt come to an agreement, then so be it. Heās Tang Guoās own brother, what, do you think of forcefully taking her away?"
Zhang Yong dismissively said, "Itās not impossible."
Yang Yi waved his hand, saying, "They have provided the graveyard and have helped us greatly. Keeping Tang Guo from coming out is their family affair, we canāt repay kindness with ingratitude. If it really doesnāt work, taking Schultz along is fine, but as for Tang Guo, if itās not meant to be, then let it be."
Brian spoke solemnly, "If possible, I mean if it is possible, try not to give up on Tang Guo. She is too important!"
