Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!
Chapter 998 - 976: Sweetheart, Don’t Be Contrary (Part 1)
She felt the grip on her arm loosen!
Turning around, she saw the man already collapsed on the warehouse’s concrete floor, a bloody hole in his forehead.
Clearly, he had been shot.
"Hall Master—"
Two Beiming Hall subordinates followed in behind, one helping Si Yuheng up, the other rushing over to untie Liang Anya.
She was still in shock. Just as the subordinates untied her hands and feet, she instinctively glanced towards Si Yuheng.
His arm and leg were covered in blood, his entire tall frame leaning against one of the subordinates.
She instinctively wanted to run over.
But as soon as she took a step, she might have been too frightened, feeling like she was stepping on cotton, dizzy, and everything went black as she fainted.
****************
When she woke up, Liang Anya found herself in a hospital room.
She quickly sat up like a carp flipping out of water!
Next to her, Liang Jue hurried over, "You’re awake, Anya. Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
"Brother..." she calmed herself, "I’m fine."
"That’s good... the doctor said you just got scared and resting in the hospital for two days will be enough. Dad was here taking care of you for a half day and just went back to look after Xiaoxiao."
After a pause, she asked, "...How is he?"
Liang Jue glanced outside the hospital room, "In the room next to yours."
Next door? She frowned. In such a big hospital, with so many rooms, he had to be next to her. It was obviously arranged by him on purpose.
Still, she asked instinctively, "Is he alright?"
"He has superficial injuries on his arm and leg, but nothing serious."
The heavy feeling in her heart seemed to ease quite a bit. She clutched the edge of the blanket and after a long while, spoke, "Do we know who kidnapped me?"
Liang Jue shook his head, "After Si Yuheng’s subordinates sent you both to the hospital, they reported to the police. The police only found that the man who was shot dead in self-defense by Beiming Hall’s subordinates was from A Country. They couldn’t find the person behind your kidnapping, only found remote cameras and speakers at the warehouse scene. It’s judged that the mastermind might not have been on-site, possibly not even in China, but controlled things remotely and spoke with you in the warehouse."
Just as expected.
Liang Anya hugged her arms, then after a while, raised her head, "Brother, I’m hungry."
Liang Jue immediately said, "Okay, I’ll go get you something to eat."
Once Liang Jue left the room, she slowly got out of bed, slipped on her shoes, and walked out of the room.
She hesitated for a few seconds in the corridor, then headed towards the next room.
...
The door to the room was ajar, and a silhouette lay on the white hospital bed.
Possibly for convenience in bandaging and disinfecting, he was bare-chested, wearing only a pair of loose beach shorts. His arms and thighs were tightly wrapped in bandages, his eyes half-closed, seeming to be resting.
He seemed to be alright.
The stone in her heart felt lifted, and she turned to go back to her own room, only to bump into a Beiming Hall subordinate.
"Oh, Miss Liang, are you here to see the Hall Master?" The subordinate’s voice was soft, yet it spread through the quiet corridor.
"I... no... I was just passing by—" She almost rushed over to cover the mouth of the subordinate.
The person inside the room heard the voices outside and raised his voice, "Come in."
The subordinate pushed Liang Anya inside, then closed the door.
Liang Anya stared blankly at the man on the bed.
Si Yuheng frowned, "If you’re here to see me, just see me. Is it necessary to sneak around like you can’t be seen?"
She came to her senses, gritted her teeth, sneered, "Yes, I’m here to see if you’re dead yet!"
"Is this how you treat your savior?" He brushed away the displeasure in his eyes, propping himself up with one arm.
"Savior? If it weren’t for you, would I have been kidnapped? You almost got me killed! What do you expect my attitude to be? Can you stay away from me and Xiaoxiao in the future...?"
He slipped into his slippers, stood, limping on one leg, and walked up to her.
Her cursing ceased as she felt a shadow descending, looking up to find the man lowering his head, his eyes burning as he gazed at her, his usually arrogant and unruly gaze now quieter.
Her heart stirred, she avoided his gaze, turning to leave.
He reached out with his uninjured long arm, swiftly grabbed her, pulled her back, encircled her tightly in his embrace, just with one arm, he was able to hold her so she couldn’t move.
The intense and overwhelming scent of him surrounded her; she struggled a bit, knowing she couldn’t break free, she had no choice but to stay in his embrace.
He lowered his neck, drawing close to her earlobe, "...Can you really say that when you saw me stabbing myself in the warehouse, you didn’t feel any pain?"
His magnetic voice accompanied by his distinct speech, fierce and passionately intertwined, like a net descending from the sky, enveloping her, leaving her unable to speak for a moment.
His thin lips lightly brushed along her delicate ear, teasingly, all the way down to her red lips, just a centimeter away from claiming her lips, his heavy breathing intertwined with hers, "Sweetheart~ don’t say one thing and mean another."
She clenched her delicate fists, fine beads of sweat exuding from her smooth forehead, feeling her whole body sway under his intense breath, her heart’s pounding almost breaking out of her chest cavity.
This feeling seemed familiar, like...
Like the feeling she had when she confessed to Mr. Jiang.
Her heart pounding violently, perspiring, nervous, uneasy, yet filled with anticipation for what’s to come...
What was she doing? Filled with anticipation for what’s to come? Did she actually hope he would kiss her...
Could it be just because this man took a few stabs for her, she’d forget about the things he’d done to her?
Would she become one of those Stockholm syndrome people?
Someone who melts with a little kindness from a criminal, forgetting the wrongs he’s committed, forgetting what kind of person he is, thinking he’s become a good guy?
She—does—not—want this!
Just as his thin, warm lips were about to press against hers, she came to her senses and instinctively pushed him away!
"Ugh..." Si Yuheng was unprepared, stumbling back several steps, clutching the bandage on his arm, bending over in apparent pain.
She was startled, maybe she’d hit him right on his wound, and quickly asked, "Are you okay..."
He gritted his teeth, looked up, "What do you think?"
She swallowed, hastily went to the bedside, raising her hand to press the emergency bell for a nurse.
Her hand was just raised, yet before she could press the bell, he swept her into his embrace, rolling her onto the hospital bed!
On the bed, their intertwined figures formed an ambiguous posture.
Liang Anya woke up to her senses, wanting to push him away and get up, her subconscious fear of hitting his wound held her back from making any movements.
The brief hesitation gave him the opportunity to keep her pinned beneath him, burying into her ear, his voice self-assured and proud, "Still dare to say you don’t care if I get hurt?"
