Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!
Chapter 986 - 964: He Will Make Her Cry and Confess! (Part 1)
Ever since Xiaoxiao was born, she had never been sick, not even slept in the incubator common for premature babies, perfectly healthy.
This was her first time falling ill, catching Liang Anya off guard.
It’s probably because she caught a cold from her dad.
No matter how healthy a baby is, their resistance is always less than that of an adult.
She quickly took some infant fever medicine and fed it to Xiaoxiao, then stayed by the crib.
Unbeknownst to her, the night grew deep.
Drowsiness hit her, and she dozed off by the baby’s crib. In the middle of the night, she suddenly awoke and immediately felt Xiaoxiao’s forehead, which seemed hotter than before.
She thought a bit of antipyretic would help, but it unexpectedly got worse. She panicked a little, not thinking any further, dressed Xiaoxiao, wrapped her in a blanket, and carried her out of the room, planning to go to the hospital.
When passing the living room, she glanced at Dad’s room.
Dad also had a cold, and she really didn’t want him to worry anymore.
So she didn’t wake him up, and directly carried Xiaoxiao downstairs.
...
Arrived at the hospital.
After seeing the emergency doctor, Xiaoxiao was diagnosed with the flu. Being an infant, even a cold could be significant, so it was advised to stay in the hospital for an IV and be observed for the night.
Liang Anya hurriedly agreed, went to pay and get the medicine, then unfolded the stroller and pushed Xiaoxiao to the infusion room.
Seeing her running back and forth with the child, the doctor kindly asked, "You’re out here alone at this hour with a child? No one to accompany you? Where’s your husband? When things get busy, how will you manage with just two hands?"
Liang Anya paused slightly; she initially wanted to ask Teacher Jiang for help, but she had already troubled him enough by asking him to be her nominal fake husband, so after thinking it over repeatedly, she decided to forget about it...
"Mm, I can manage on my own." She wiped off some sweat, perked herself up, and pushed the baby away.
...
In the infusion room, the nurse gave Xiaoxiao an injection as Liang Anya stayed by her side.
Due to her illness, Xiaoxiao seemed a lot more tired, her big double eyelids drooping, and her little pink mouth gaping open like a small goldfish.
She looked both pitiful and lovably cute.
Liang Anya couldn’t help but sigh, "Get well soon."
After the injection, Xiaoxiao fell asleep. Liang Anya rested a bit by the bedside, and as dawn approached, her phone vibrated, waking her up.
She rubbed her sleepy eyes and saw a call from Dad, guessing that he had woken up and noticed she and Xiaoxiao were gone.
She asked a nurse to help watch Xiaoxiao, stepped outside and answered the call, "Hello, Dad."
"Anya, where are you and Xiaoxiao?"
"Late last night Xiaoxiao got a fever, so I brought her to the hospital. She’s just had an injection, the doctor said she needed observation overnight, we’re still in the hospital’s infusion room."
Liang Tao immediately got anxious, "Why didn’t you wake me up?"
"You also have a cold, and since you were sleeping soundly, I didn’t want to disturb you. I can handle it on my own."
"How is Xiaoxiao now?"
"The fever’s gone after the IV, but she’s still not in great spirits. The doctor suggested some blood and urine tests in the morning to check, if there are no major issues, we can be discharged."
"Alright, I’ll call your brother at the company to come back and accompany me to the hospital."
"Dad, no need, I can manage it myself, you should rest at home."
Liang Tao, worried about his daughter and granddaughter at the hospital, couldn’t find peace: "It’s okay."
Liang Anya had to say, "Alright then."
She told Dad which hospital they were in and hung up.
Just then, a nurse came over with a syringe strip, looking at it and saying, "Liang Xiaoxiao, six and a half months old, female infant."
"Yes, that’s right," Liang Anya responded quickly.
"Come, it’s time for a blood test."
Liang Anya picked up her daughter and walked to the blood test window, extending Xiaoxiao’s chubby little hand to the nurse there.
During the blood draw, Xiaoxiao didn’t even flinch.
The nurse, seeing the other infants wailing from the blood test, smiled and said, "Rare to see a baby girl this tough. So young yet such a strong girl, she’ll surely be formidable in the future."
Liang Anya proudly waved Xiaoxiao’s hand, "We’re both tough girls and little princesses, right?"
Xiaoxiao hummed a little in her arms, as if responding.
"Alright, take the baby over there to rest for a while. Wait for the results."
Anya replied with a hum, hugged Xiaoxiao, stood up, and turned to go back to her bed when she heard Dad’s voice floating over, "Anya."
Dad and Brother, who had just rushed into the infusion room, walked in quietly, full of apprehension.
As soon as Liang Tao entered, he took Xiaoxiao to check her, seeing her plump little face thinning a bit overnight, feeling heartbroken and somewhat guilty, "Oh, I didn’t pay attention and passed the cold to Xiaoxiao."
The usually strong "tough girl" seeing the grandpa who doted on her the most, wrinkled her nose, wearing an expression of grievance.
"Dad, it’s just a cold and fever, Xiaoxiao will be fine soon." Liang Anya comforted.
"Alright, let’s find a place to sit down and rest." Liang Jue glanced around the infusion room.
The infusion room was large and chaotic, filled with nurses, sick children, and family members coming and going, noisy and loud.
"You two stayed here all night?" Liang Tao frowned, realizing it wasn’t reliable for his daughter to handle Xiaoxiao’s sickness alone, not even finding a comfortable place to rest; this environment was not conducive to comfort.
"Bed spaces are in high demand in such big hospitals, and Xiaoxiao just has a mild cold, so there’s no way we could get a room. Our place is over there..." Liang Anya pointed out.
Just then, the sound of footsteps echoed from the entrance to the infusion room, getting closer and closer, accompanied by a man’s voice floating over:
"The single room is arranged, Uncle, carry Xiaoxiao over there."
"Thanks, REX." Liang Tao immediately said.
The voice made Liang Anya freeze, she saw a familiar tall figure stride over, appearing the same as usual, with those cold and slightly arrogant blue eyes, thin lips, and elegantly carved jawline. The only difference was the faint blue shadow on his cheeks and chin, perhaps from rushing out without shaving.
"Dad... why is he here?" Liang Anya was stunned.
Liang Jue chimed in from the side, "Last night I was working late at the company and didn’t return home; I was having dinner with a few tax officials, with REX helping the tax matters. So I invited him to join the gathering. So last night, REX was with us throughout the dinner, and this morning when I got Dad’s call, REX knew Xiaoxiao was sick, and kindly came home with me to accompany Dad to come over."
"Yeah, REX said he happened to know someone in this hospital, so as soon as we arrived, he helped us arrange a room for Xiaoxiao." Liang Tao’s tone was full of gratitude.
