Spoiled by the CEO after amnesia!
Chapter 863 - 843 Just Reached Climax (1)
"You all are familiar with this person," Su Yan looked towards the entrance of the conference room.
The door opened.
The secretary led a man inside.
The man was in his twenties, tall and slender, with features somewhat similar to Huo Tianpei.
But his eyes were dark and gloomy, giving off a distinctly restless vibe.
Upon entering, the man adjusted his suit, glanced dismissively at the major shareholders present, as if he didn’t hold them in regard, pulled out a chair, and sat down.
"Isn’t this the second young master?" A shareholder was the first to exclaim.
The others recognized Huo Zhenxuan too, and were astonished: "Is the second young master the person Mrs. Huo wants to nominate to the board of directors?"
Outsiders were unaware, but the shareholders knew that the second young master had been sent abroad by Huo Tianpei years ago due to troubles he caused in China.
Since then, there had been no news from him for many years.
How could he suddenly return now, and even be nominated by Mrs. Huo to the corporate board?
Su Yan replied: "Yes, it’s the second young master."
"Does Director Huo know about this?" a shareholder gasped.
Su Yan had anticipated this question and responded in a calm and measured tone:
"I will discuss this matter with the old master later; he is currently not in good health. Considering the corporation’s need for manpower, it’s beneficial for the second young master to return and help. I believe the old master will not oppose this when the time comes."
Isn’t this plainly putting the cart before the horse?
The shareholders looked at each other.
The most venerable and respected shareholder could not resist saying:
"No matter what, joining the board isn’t a trivial matter; shouldn’t you inform Director Huo? Can Mrs. Huo guarantee that Director Huo would agree to let the second young master join the company, and moreover, the board of directors?"
As this shareholder spoke, the others nodded in agreement.
The second young master had always been known as a wastrel in G City, notorious for his indulgence in pleasure and lack of education, and had never been favored by Huo Tianpei. Now he has rashly returned from abroad, and suddenly he’s talking about joining the corporation—would Huo Tianpei really agree?
Huo Zhenxuan snorted lightly without concealing it and glanced at Su Yan.
Su Yan immediately raised her hands, signaling everyone to quiet down, her tone becoming chillier:
"Don’t forget, gentlemen, the second young master is a legitimate and rightful son of the Huo Family. He’s not some stray cat or dog from the streets. Now that the young master has resigned, and there are no Huo family members in the corporation, do you think he shouldn’t join? Or do you believe there is anyone else more qualified than him to join the corporation?"
"But..."
"Enough!" Su Yan’s tone became more intense: "Are you not taking me, Mrs. Huo, seriously now? Do you think my words hold no credibility?"
The shareholders looked at each other and found it difficult to object any further.
After all, the second young master is a male of the Huo Family, and now he also comes with Mrs. Huo’s strong recommendation...
Though they didn’t immediately agree, their expressions, previously tense, had visibly softened.}
Su Yan walked slowly along the conference table, her sharp high heels clicking crisply and coldly on the marble floor, as arrogantly as her words:
"Once the second young master joins the board, he will surely not forget your support and will strive to secure the greatest benefits for you. Moreover, don’t worry about the old master being unhappy later on. The old master and I have always had a loving relationship, and we are very close. My words are also the old master’s intentions. I’m doing this for the good of the Huo Family; how could he be displeased..."
Before she could finish, a disturbance broke out at the door.
The secretary’s panicked footsteps and voice could be heard.
Su Yan’s eyebrows furrowed as the door to the conference room banged open and the secretary walked in with a pale face, staggering a few steps.
"What’s going on? Are the reporters outside making noise? Tell them to keep it down, don’t they know we’re having a meeting?"
Su Yan sharply rebuked.
"No, it’s not the reporters, it’s Young Master Huo..."
The secretary hadn’t finished speaking when she glanced outside as if seeing a devil, seemingly warned by someone’s gaze, she bowed her head, moved aside, and dared not make another sound.
Su Yan and Huo Zhenxuan let out a cold laugh.
Actually, before today’s shareholder meeting, it was anticipated that Huo Zhenyang would probably come.
But his coming wouldn’t change anything.
The resignation letter he submitted couldn’t be taken back.
He was no longer the CEO; even if he came, he couldn’t influence the situation.
Su Yan steadied her emotions and sneered discontentedly, raising her voice: "So he’s here, does he have to be so flustered?"
As her words fell, the faint sound of an electric current from an automated wheelchair, accompanied by the rolling of wheels over marble floors, got closer and closer.
A wheelchair—?
Everyone’s breath hitched!
Huo Zhenxuan instantly guessed something, his face changed, and the laziness from before was gone as he suddenly stood up!
Su Yan’s expression changed as she watched Huo Zhenyang pushing the wheelchair with an elderly man, who was escorted by several bodyguards, into the conference room.
Having not seen Huo Tianpei for several months, though still thin and haggard, his cheeks were somewhat rosier and he looked much better.
At least, he was able to travel on a long-distance flight from across the ocean to China!
At this moment, Huo Tianpei’s eyes were tightly fixed on Su Yan, his lips tightly pursed, not saying a word, but his sunken eyes, aged by a stroke, were full of restrained anger.
"Chairman Huo!" several shareholders stood up.
The reporters from several media outlets outside also noticed some changes in today’s Huo Group’s shareholder meeting, and, despite security’s hindrance, peered inside:
"Is it Young Master Huo and Chairman Huo who have arrived? Has something happened?"
Seeing Huo Tianpei arrive, Su Yan sensed something bad, regardless, having it broadcasted by the media would not be good, she secretly instructed the secretary: "Keep the reporters further away."
The secretary hurried out to ask the reporters to leave for the moment, but the reporters, as if injected with adrenaline, rushed to the doorway and couldn’t be driven away.
Huo Zhenyang raised his hand and made a calming gesture to the reporters: "There will be time for your questions later. We won’t disappoint you."
The man’s demeanor was steady as Mount Tai, also exuding a sovereign decisiveness, surprisingly intimidating the media present.
With Young Master Huo’s assurance, the reporters temporarily retreated outside.
The door of the conference room banged shut, and the atmosphere turned chilly.
Su Yan steadied her spirit and approached: "Tianpei, how did you come over..."
She then glanced at an assistant who came from America with Huo Tianpei, frowning: "You came to China and didn’t even tell me, how can the old man’s health endure such a long and arduous flight? Are you all just eating for free?"
As she spoke, she squatted down, facing Huo Tianpei, as if wanting to check his health, completely shedding her previous commanding and superior demeanor, and in a few seconds, transformed into the most gentle and considerate wife.
Huo Tianpei suddenly pulled his arm away from her grasp: "I’m very healthy, flying is no problem."
