"Stabilizing agent for the mutations we are undergoing. We do not understand the exact reason. But when you successfully go through a blackhole or wormhole and do not end up ’spaghettified’, to use a human expression." Shilla explained as she began setting up some equipment.

"So you just automatically start mutating when you go through a wormhole?" K asked, she was currently her more focused personality.

Shilla chuckled quietly as she nodded her head. "Yes, the process has started. I am sure that Jace has his own theories on it. But we are going to need three volunteers to undergo the stabilization part of the process until Jace gets here and we can get more of this stuff." She flicked the container with the liquid that was going from a semi-clear liquid and into a dark purple shade.

"What is this stuff?" Victor asked as he walked around it.

"Honestly," She shrugged. "I have no clue. I just know what the results of this tab are supposed to say when dipped in the liquid and it passed." She pulled out a used tap of something that he seemed to have almost pulled out of nowhere. But it had clearly been used.

"You just have something like this on you?" Jamal remarked with a scoff.

Shilla nodded as she set it to the side. "Yeah, there are a number of things we are trained on knowing and having. This is one of them, and before you ask. No, I cannot tell you everything I am trained on knowing."

"We should figure out who is taking the stabilizer. You said there was only enough for three?" Cain pointed out, already making a few calculations.

"Yes, so either we need volunteers or just pick three." Shilla nodded her head as she pulled a lever and a loud sound reverberated.

"K should obviously go as one of them. I do not want to test how long her sanity could last with whatever this split personality thing is." Cain decided. "As for the other two, I do not really have a preference."

"I can wait. I have not been having many issues. But we should get Crystal in here. He has- well, I am sure you already know." Jamal remarked, he was fine, of all of them he had the least amount of health issues.

"I will call him up here. Shilla, you should take the last one." Cain told her. "Colvert will be fine and Victor is not suffering any of the effects yet. We will need you to administer the others later when we get some more. From what it sounds, the effects of the mutation could knock you out or do just about anything."

"Okay we will just need a few minutes." Shilla explained as she started setting up. Cain walked out of the infirmary to call Crystal over and take over for him at the controls.

He sauntered back into the brig nonchalantly. As he did he walked past the still unconscious guard and glanced at the cells. After a few seconds of looking around he walked into his cell and closed the door.

He had only just sat down on his metal bench when a bunch of those soldiers burst into the brig. He looked at them as they took up position with their weapons pointed at him from the outside of his cell. Then the prince from before that Jace honestly did not bother to remember the name of, then stepped out in front.

"For someone that surrendered himself. You seem to be running around quite a bit." The prince declared.

"Is there a point to this visit?" Jace asked as he relaxed and leaned back in the cell.

The prince got a bit red in the face in anger. "Where are the explosives? I know you stole some the first time you went missing. I also believe you grabbed some before you got back. I also know you know how to find your people. You are going to share that information as well."

"I will do neither." Jace remarked with a chuckle. "If you can’t figure out what I did. Then it is your own fault. I mean back where I come from the only royals that survive are the ones that lead by example." He had to hold back his laughter as he watched the prince nearly burst into anger. "As for my people and the ship. If you can’t figure it out, that is because you are not ready yet for that type of technology."

"Fuck it!" The prince growled out and then stepped back. "Kill this bastard!"

Jace raised an eyebrow and prepared to move when another person yelled. "Hold fire!" They all turned as the Archivist walked in. "Is this really what you should be focusing on?" She demanded. "He could be our most useful resource and all you have decided to do is make him an enemy?"

"He is not-"

BOOOOMM!

The entire ship shook as the intercom began screeching. "We are under attack! I repeat, all hands to battle stations. We have multiple enemy ships in orbit around Prima Terra. We need the commanders to report to the bridge!"

"That seems like something you might want to deal with." Jace remarked with a slight twitch in his lips. Seems he would have to move forward with his plans. Hopefully the others were ready.

"I will deal with you when I get back!" The prince declared and then waved his hand. Pulling away the soldiers. But left behind a pair of guards. The Archivist left a moment later as well.

Then Jace moved toward the bars. The guard backed up a bit. "Wow, you really are terrified of me." He remarked as he looked around before nodding his head. "The cell behind you opened."

"Are you seriously telling us to look away?" One of the guards remarked. "No way."

Jace shrugged, "you got me. But where is your knife?" He asked with a chuckle.

The guard’s head snapped down to see the empty spot on his belt where his knife was. Then before he could look anywhere else the knife was stabbing in through his eye. "Aaahhhh!" He screamed in pain as the one person with his own cell that was not Sherlock or West, pulled the knife out of the guy’s eye and moved to the other guard who looked over in shock.

The second guard barely got his weapon around before the knife slid in through below his jaw and into their brain.

Ptu!

The guard with a missing eye fired off a laser into the back of the guy’s leg as he stumbled toward another of the cells only for the occupants to grab him from behind and start choking him out. There was a crack and then a snap as they killed him and started pulling weapons off him.

Jace shook his head as he looked at the man who walked towards his cell and then pointed the knife at him. "You almost screwed up my escape. I should kill you because of that."

"Try." Jace chuckled.

The man’s eye twitched and then he jumped forward and tried to stab him. Only for Jace to grab his wrist and then slam the guy into the bars of the cell. Not enough to knock him out or kill him. But it was enough to make a point.

The guy fell to the ground and groaned in pain while Jace deactivated the cell door by undoing the electric lock and then stepping out. Jace hummed as he walked away and left the brig.

A moment after he stepped out, the Archivist came in and opened West’s cell. "We have a limited amount of time. Come on, it is time to move." She told the younger woman and they walked out of the brig.

Sherlock frowned as he moved to the cell door. Then he looked over to see the person that was knocked on his ass stand up. He then moved over to the central guard console and all of the cells opened up. When his cell door swung open he frowned and watched as the rebels they captured over the last few weeks ran out while some stayed and grabbed the sobering up soldiers and started to kill them.

He then watched in annoyance as the rebel leader, known as Butcher, walked toward him in his cell. Sherlock had helped capture Butcher a while ago. It was a side activity he did because the rebel was a ruthless psychopath.

"Sherlock... I am going to have fun with-argh!" Butcher groaned in pain after Sherlock pulled the knife out of his hand and then slashed open his throat. The guy was barely a thought as he walked out of the cell. He moved over to the console and pressed a button.

He then spoke into a microphone. "The Gladiator is up to something. West and the Archivist are up to something as well. Send some people to the brig to secure the prisoners. I will follow West and the Archivist."
