Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 532 - 481 AD meeting
April 26th.
"Miss, take care along the way."
An aged but robust butler bent over and said to the figure in front of him. šÆš§š®š®šš®šš£ššššµ.š¬šøš
Kreya nodded, then said, "Iāll be off then, remember to send my regards to Mother."
With that, she left the manor gates, where not far away, Kane had already constructed a large camper van.
In the back compartment, Longbei and the others were already seated inside, just waiting for Kreya.
At this moment, the sky was just beginning to lighten.
The sun hadnāt yet risen over the mountain top.
They started moving so early because today was the 26th, the day pre-arranged with Burton and the others.
As the organizers of this meeting, they naturally had to head over early.
Once Kreya entered the compartment, the rear door automatically shut, and they leisurely drove towards the distant Teleportation Station.
Inside the compartment, Kane was half-lying, looking drowsy, while Lulu was already sprawled on a blanket, asleep.
Kreya looked at the two and curiously asked, "Didnāt you sleep well last night? Why are you so tired?"
Kane stared at Kreya and said quietly, "Your uncle knew we were leaving, so he hauled me into an afternoon of sparring yesterday, calling it training."
"In the evening, coincidentally Bonona and the others gathered together, needing my input on some base locations they had determined. They couldnāt decide, so I had to make the call, then listen to their reports, give suggestions; havenāt slept since then."
"As for this little one..."
Kane extended a finger and poked the head of the sleeping Lulu beside him.
The touch was an annoyance for Lulu, who batted it away and rolled over several times to distance herself from Kane, before resuming her sleep.
"Spending last night with Finaris and Mimina, I gather."
He motioned towards another blanket.
Saintess Finaris was there, sleeping in an unceremonious manner. Only now did he realize that beneath her dignified and merciful surface, the Saintessās sleep posture was like a childās.
Her entire body was slumped awkwardly, a sleeping appearance as unbecoming as could be, just like a child.
Seeing this, Kreya helplessly patted her forehead. Having shared sleep with Finaris, she was well versed in her sleep style.
Perhaps it was because she had grown accustomed to them, or having finally made friends her own age, Finaris was entirely at ease around them.
Previously, she put on airs, appearing graceful and dignified, a saintly faƧade tinged with mercy.
Now though.
No semblance of dignity.
There was even a sense that she had been corrupted by Lulu.
In truth, both Kane and Kreya now viewed Finaris as a large version of Lulu.
The two were completely alike, both like little girls who hadnāt grown up.
Kreya now finally understood her own motherās emotions from before.
Only a year had passed, and her ladylike daughter had transformed into a sword-wielding Female Knight.
Sighing, she walked over to adjust Finarisās posture and cover her with a blanket.
Then she picked up Lulu, who was sleeping in the middle of the compartment, and placed her on Kaneās lap.
Kane saw Lulu drool instantly, soaking a patch of his pants.
What a bother!
Sheās old enough, drooling in her sleep wasnāt so bad, but to drool this much!
Kane helplessly glanced at Longbei.
"Why are you looking at me? You canāt seriously expect me to hold her, can you? No way."
Longbei shook his head and hands disdainfully, as if Lulu were a venomous pest.
He was left with no choice, given that the pair constantly bickered.
At this moment, Kane suddenly frowned, unable to help shaking his head.
He then felt a pair of hands pressing his temples, easing his Spirit.
"Is that premonition coming again? Whatās going on this time? Havenāt we cleared everything?"
Kreyaās voice came from behind.
Regarding Kreyaās question, Kane could only reply, "I donāt know."
This was the second time since leaving the Dungeon, that feeling of intertwined fortune and misfortune.
Kane genuinely didnāt know what it was about. When the premonition appeared during the Dungeon, both he and Kreya thought it referred to the Dungeonās desperate situations.
However, with the Dungeon cleared, and within mere days, Kaneās mind had experienced the same premonition.
This showed that the premonition all along wasnāt about the Dungeon after all.
Luckily, the premonition had always been intertwined fortune and misfortune, not just purely negative omens.
The sensation was inexplicable, to this day Kane was clueless about the reasons.
The earliest signs could be traced back to one or two months ago, right when the Dungeon had first emerged.
Following that, it became more frequent.
Baffling.
While the Divine Martial Gaze could provide users with a perception akin to foresight.
Yet, in such cases when awareness is present, the reason remains unknown.
All they could do was stay cautious and vigilant, nothing more could be done.
Soon, they arrived at the Teleportation Platform on the grasslands and used it to teleport to the Imperial Capital of the Kingdom.
"Do you want to visit your parents?" Kane asked.
Considering that once they leave this time, who knows when they would return?
Kreya shook her head, "Theyāre extremely busy now, better not disturb them, anyway, thereāll be plenty of opportunity later."
Upon hearing Kreyaās reply, Kane said no more, and the group headed to the Transmission Hub.
The journey was just as before, encountering various peculiar fantasy creatures, challenging the imagination.
Subsequently, they passed through the Transmission Hub, and not long after arrived at Sokayamas.
After all, the halfling kingdom isnāt far from Sokayamas.
Just after seeing the light, Kane heard all sorts of noisy sounds in his ears.
"Quickly, quickly, donāt dawdle, there are people behind!"
"Hold it in, donāt throw up, go puke outside!"
"You vomited inside the teleportation array? Clean it up and pay the fine. Seriously, canāt even handle such a short trip."
"Donāt just stand there, move along, donāt block others."
Hearing these familiar and noisy sounds, Kane inexplicably smiled; it was indeed nostalgic.
Walking down from the teleportation station, next to it was the familiar Explorerās House.
After just a few steps, an aunt approached them, smiling and asking Kane and his group.
"Young men, looking for lodging? Or..."
So familiar.
After declining the auntās offer, Kane and the others directly entered the Explorerās House next door.
This time, the Explorerās House was not as busy as it used to be; the explorers inside were scattered sparsely.
Looks like today is a bit quiet.
The staff at the front desk of the Explorerās House happened to be their old acquaintance, Yang Jiaomei Adoma.
At this moment, Yang Jiaomei was only showing her pair of large ram horns, and was crouching behind the front desk doing something unknown.
Kane and the others walked over and tapped on the desk.
"What are you doing, Adoma, slacking off again?"
The sudden voice startled Adoma, who quickly lifted her head and saw Kane and the others.
"Kane? And Kreya!"
Skipping past Kane, Adoma stood up and leaned over to hug Kreya.
"Long time no see, everyone."
Adoma happily chatted with Kane and the group for a while; after all, they somewhat counted as friends.
As they were talking, Kane suddenly asked, "Adoma, is the private room at the No. 4 Tavern still available?"
"It is, do you want to book it?"
"Sure, if anyone comes looking for us, you can just send them straight to room No. 4."
"No problem."
After saying that, Kane and the others went toward the tavern area in the back, where there were six small private rooms, each with excellent soundproofing and magic isolation effects.
The rooms are meant for explorers to discuss important matters under the guise of a tavern setting.
The architecture and services of the guild are thoroughly reliable.
Kane and his group walked right in.
The agreed meeting place was also the Explorerās House; there was no better location.
In the center of the private room, thereās a large round table.
Everyone sat around the table. Shortly after, the small teleportation array on the table began to glow, transporting a heap of wine bottles and glasses.
Each poured themselves a small drink, chatting while waiting.
It might have only been ten to twenty minutes before there was a knock on the door.
"I didnāt expect Burton to be the first to arrive."
As Kane spoke, he got up and opened the door, finding Burton outside.
"Come on in."
After coming inside, Burton hugged each of them.
Then sitting in his place, Burton poured himself a drink and said to everyone.
"Iām very happy that youāre willing to let me join your guild, but you should know Iām retired and canāt explore dungeons anymore, so joining the guild wonāt serve much purpose."
Burton, with characteristic dwarven straightforwardness, stated his thoughts outright.
Next to him, Longbei stood up and slapped him hard on the back.
"Hahaha Burton, you donāt think Iām an idiot who doesnāt know these things, do you? Iām the one who suggested you join the guild; of course, I know these facts."
At his brotherās gesture, Burtonās vein throbbed with irritation. He stood from his seat and delivered a punch that knocked his brother off his stool.
"So youāre the idiot who suggested these pointless things!"
"If I suggested it, doesnāt that mean thereās something in the guild for you to do? Even after getting old and retiring, you can still shine; how great is that? You could even help your brother."
On hearing these words from his brother, Burtonās vein throbbed even more fiercely. He jumped off the stool and tackled his brother.
After some tussling, seeing Longbeiās completely unaffected face full of smiles, Burton released him.
Disdainfully, he said to Longbei, "Stronger, huh? Seriously, lucky break for you, you should thank your brother, who recommended you to join Kaneās group."
With that, he started brawling with Longbei again.
Todayās reaction from Longbei told him that if he didnāt take the chance to fight a little more now, he might not be able to later.
Kane and the others watched the two brothers engaging in fisticuffs the moment they met, with a sense of helplessness. They rolled their eyes and started chatting among themselves.
Only Finaris had never seen such a scene.
They had almost completely adapted to Longbeiās family dynamics of expressing familial love.
During the beer festival period, this scene happened practically every moment.
Moreover, itās always Longbei taking the hits; no wonder he became the tank of the team, apparently born with the skill of getting beaten.
At this moment, the door was knocked again.
Upon hearing the knock, the two began ceasing their fights.
This embarrassing image was already familiar to Kane and the others; so being seen didnāt matter.
If someone unfamiliar walked in, they might think they were seriously fighting.
So the two tacitly stopped, showing that they were indeed brothers.
"Such a strong Holy Light response." Finaris felt the movement outside the door and couldnāt help but say.
It was then Burton realized someone he didnāt know was in Kaneās group.
