Chapter 662: Chapter 662: Anticlimactic

"<Command: Scatter to the Left>," I chanted as I locked onto all the Knights except Ferin, before chanting against as I turned my attention to him, "<Command: Get Over Here>."

"Wh-What the hell is this...?!" He blurted out, stumbling over this way as the other Knights shot across to the left of the space with bewildered looks on their faces.

I narrowed my eyes as the King and the rest began to look around frantically, starting to break away from each other...

"<Command: Don’t Move>."

As the lot of them froze in place, we sprang into action. Mom shot towards the other Knights as Zelmira raced past Ferin and made a beeline towards the King.

"You won’t be running away this time, asshole," I greeted Ferin, as he broke free of the effect of Command, a few meters ahead of me.

"You lowly scum...I refuse to fall at the hands of the likes of you! Now, [Spirit Fusion, Aeroraptor: Claw]!" He bellowed furiously, a burst of energy erupted around him.

Dark, leathery scales sprouted across his skin, his nose and mouth extending forward into a snout, as his pupils narrowed and sharpened. He kicked off his boots as his feet transformed, his toenails morphing into sharp claws, as his big toes grew into hooked claws.

Wings extended out of his shoulder blades as a scaly tail grew out of his lower back. He swung his sword across with a deep, confident growl, his murderous intense crystal clear and palpable.

Hm, his Power Level has increased by less than a million, which means this Spirit is A-Ranked. His other Spirit must be of a similar or lower rank, if he opted to go with this one.

He spread out his wings and flew up, firing out a rapid blast of wind down towards me. I sprang back as it closed in on me, the blast crashing onto the floor with immense force, shards of tile flying out upon impact.

He let out a fierce yell as he swooped down towards me, wind erupting around his blade as he closed in and slashed down at the top of my head. I drew out Desecrator and raised it up defensively, his sword colliding against it with a sharp clang...before my blade sliced right through his.

His eyes widened in shock as I split his blade in half, the top half hitting the floor and skidding away. I then drove my left fist up, striking his chin and launching him straight up as a few of his teeth snapped off and fell out of his mouth.

The top of his head slammed against the ceiling in the blink of an eye, his broken teeth hitting the floor by my feet with a clatter.

"Huh. It’s honestly kinda insane how easy this is probably going to me. I mean, really, you’re supposed to be the strongest Knight? What a joke," I scoffed tauntingly as he flew back with a dazed look on his face, several trails of blood streaming down his face from the top of his head.

"Y-You bastard...!"

"Alright, let’s end this. <Spirit Fusion, Apostle of Wrath: Ira>."

An intense burst of Ether erupted around me as my ears extended out, turning pointy at ends. My hair turned blue as my body began glowing, my power surging intensely.

"Huh? Apostle of Wrath? What kind of Spirit-...?" Began Ferin, before abruptly trailing off as a sudden gust of wind knocked him off-balance. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

He tensed and looked around in alarm as he lost sight of me, before stiffening as I reached out and tapped his shoulder from behind. I lunged forward through the air, propelling myself with a burst of Ether as I drove Desecrator forward.

A sharp gasp of pain rang out as I plunged my blade through the middle of his chest and out his back, his broken sword falling out of his grasp and plummeting down. He coughed out blood with an agonized wheeze as his blade hit the floor with a clatter, tensing as I grabbed hold of the top of his head with my left hand.

"N-No, wait-...!" He began, before convulsing with an excruciating yell of pain as I unleashed Mana Pulse, his eyes exploding in bloody bursts as blood gushed out of his nostrils and mouth.

The skin around his face spasmed sharply and tore open, more blood spurting out as he screamed in agony. The blue glow of Ether began emanating from my hand, intensifying sharply.

Wind began to swirl around his hands as he shakily began to raise them...right as I fired out a devastating blast of Ether from my hand, Ferin’s head exploding like a watermelon.

His headless body plummeted as it went limp, streaks of blood spraying out of the stump left around his neck. The transformation of his Spirit Fusion wore off as he fell through the air, reverting him to his normal form.

As he crashed onto the floor with a loud thud, his limbs bent awkwardly, a rapidly widening pool of blood began to form around what was left of his head.

I descended back down, landing beside his corpse and stretching my arms up as I deactivated Spirit Fusion and returned to my base form.

I took out a bottle of water and opened it as loud crashes and cries of pain rang out around me, taking a few gulps of water to refresh myself. I put the bottle back into Treasury and glanced around the room, a slight smile spreading out across my lips as I got a look at how mom and Zelmira were doing.

Seems they’ve all but wrapped things up here, shouldn’t be much longer now before we’re done. Hm. Is it just me, or...is this turning out to be kinda...anticlimactic? I mean, I know we expected this to be one-sided and all, but still...have I just gotten too used to things never going smoothly in battle? I should keep my guard up, just in case...
