Chapter 648: No Reason to Refuse
"Guess we’re doing this the hard way, that’s too bad," I sighed, ducking as a fiery slash came shooting towards me, before launching myself into the air with a burst of Negative Energy as a roaring blast of wind zipped in from behind.
A loud crash rang out as the wind blast collided against the spot where I’d been standing, the two Demons turning their attention towards me and flying up.
"Don’t let him get away!"
Yeah, I’m not trying to get away. I suppose a show of power is in order...
"<Spirit Fusion, Apostle of Wrath: Ira>."
Ether erupted around me as my ears elongated and turned pointy, my body glowing as my hair turned blue.
"What kind of Spirit Fusion is that? He looks like an Elf."
"It doesn’t matter, let’s attack him with everything we’ve got and-...!"
"You won’t be doing anything of the sort. Now, <Command: Don’t Move>," I chanted, the two Demon freezing up as they began to close in on either side of me.
I extended out a pair of Negative Energy tendrils and caught them as they began to plummet, lowering them as I flew back down and set them on the rooftop, the other two Demons instinctively shrinking back as I glanced at them.
"Like I said, I’m not here to fight. And believe me, you don’t want it to come to that," I remarked, as I raised my right hand up, charging Ether and Negative Energy and adding, "Here, maybe this’ll convince you to stand down."
Their eyes widened in horror as I unleashed a devastating blast of Ether and Negative Energy straight up, the blast shooting through the air and bursting through the clouds, clearing the sky as it blew the clouds away. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
An intense gust of wind burst out from the force of my blast, the Demons’ hair fluttering against it, before the attack petered out.
"A-Alright...we’ll stand down, and-...," Began Reritea, before trailing off as Zevek suddenly broke free of the effect of Command and lunged at me, driving his blade towards my throat with a fierce yell.
His eyes widened as I swiftly sidestepped across to evade his strike, sticking out my foot as he began to rush past me, tripping him and knocking him off-balance.
As he stumbled forward, I grabbed his wrists and ankles with tendrils of Negative Energy, restraining him and leaping forward, striking the back of his neck with the side of my hand, knocking him out.
He collapsed onto his knees and hit the floor with a thud, his Spirit Fusion deactivating as he lost consciousness.
"Think it’ll be easier to talk if he’s not conscious. Now, then...anyone else still want to fight?" I inquired, as I glanced at Deilelne, who immediately shook her head and backed away, deactivating her Spirit Fusion and holding her arms up.
"We’re sorry about Zevek...he harbors a deep hatred and resentment towards humans. We know that summoned Heroes come from different worlds, and have nothing to do with the atrocities committed by the humans of this world, but that doesn’t matter to him," Remarked Kritak, putting his spear away.
"Yeah, I get it. Rest assured, I have no intention of causing any trouble here. If anything, we have a common enemy. The King of Lynocyes and his supporters tried to enslave me after summoning me, to force me to fight for them. Naturally, I didn’t take too kindly to that. If nothing else, I can guarantee you that I won’t join the humans’ side," I replied, deactivating my own Spirit Fusion and sheathing Desecrator.
"So, then, all you want is the ritual that will send you back to your world, is that right?" Chimed in Deilelne warily.
Huh...if they’re willing to give me the ritual without anything in return, we can skip the whole thing with killing the King and his supporters, and instead just go straight back to our world.
But, well...after getting everyone in Revolt’s hopes up, it’d be a dick move to just up and leave without helping them.
"That would be ideal, but...I actually came here with a deal in mind. I suppose I should elaborate...for starters, I wasn’t the only one summoned to this world, I was brought here with four of my friends.
After we avoided getting enslaved by the King, a resistance group called Revolt helped us hide out. They told us that the Demons have a way to send summoned Heroes back to their original worlds, and agreed to show us how to get to this nation, in return for helping them with their revolution.
Of course, we didn’t plan on asking for the ritual for free. In return for helping us get to our world, we’ll end this war for you, by eliminating Lynocyes’ King and his supporters. Also, once we’re done with that, we’d like you to form an alliance with the new leaders of Lynocyes," I explained, detailing the entire deal to them.
"Oh...I see, so that’s what you came here to accomplish. Hm, truth be told, we have no reason to refuse to send you back to your world. If we knew that more Heroes had been summoned, we would have planned to use the ritual regardless. That said, we can’t ignore this deal you’ve proposed...this war has raged on for far too long," Responded Kritak, clenching his fists bitterly.
"So, uh...if you weren’t the only summoned Hero, how come you came here alone? I mean, no matter how powerful you are, didn’t you think it’d be risky to approach us by yourself?" Inquired Deilelne curiously.
"Oh, I didn’t come by myself. The others are with me, I can bring them out whenever I want. I just didn’t because I didn’t want to make it seem like I was making a show of aggression and end up escalating the situation even further."
"What do you mean by bring them out? Are you able to summon people?" Chimed in Reritea uncertainly.
"Not exactly. I have my own dimension, they’re in there."
"Wait, what?"
