Chapter 638: Chapter 638: Tad Bit Cruel

"O-Oh, my...this is incredible, I’ve never tasted food like this before!" Exclaimed Zelmira, as she and the other members of Revolt stuffed their faces.

It was the next day, around 8 AM in the morning. I’m not used to waking up this early, but since we went to sleep fairly early last night, it turned out to be manageable.

Aria still looks kinda half-asleep though, she’s even less of a morning person than I am. The others don’t seem to have any particular trouble with waking up early, though.

The five of us slept in the Pocket Dimension, and after we all woke up, Jaden suggested having breakfast with the members of Revolt.

Well, Aria and I didn’t wake up so much as we were woken up, we’d probably still be asleep otherwise.

Anyway, we freshened up and headed out of the Pocket Dimension to Revolt’s hideout, and I made a pretty tremendous amount of copies of various food I’ve got stored in Treasury.

Among the members of Revolt, there were about a hundred and fifty of them in this hideout, though they apparently have a total of around five hundred, the rest posted up in other locations in the nation.

But besides the five core members, the others are apparently around average, at best, in terms of combat ability.

Commoners with strong Magic power are pretty rare in this nation, the vast majority of those with notable Magic power are Nobles.

According to what the members of Revolt have told us, Commoners who display significant amounts of Magic power are often assassinated by the Church’s Inquisitors.

So, most Commoners who realize that they possess immense Magic power tend to hide it or at least downplay it. And that’s only as far as men are concerned.

Women are banned from using Magic, after all, and that applies to both Commoners and Nobles alike. Incidentally, they’re also prohibited from using weapons.

As a result, there are no women among either the Knights or Adventurers, taking up combat in any capacity is a crime.

Based on what I’ve seen of the Revolt members’ stats through Appraisal, gender has no bearing on a person’s Magic power, so really, this law is depriving the nation of a significant amount of combat power in their forces.

Well, sexism or prejudice and discrimination of any kind isn’t logical to begin with, so there’s no point in trying to rationalize it.

Anyway, the members of Revolt were currently gorging themselves on the wide variety of food from our world that I’d set out, they can’t seem to get enough of it.

I haven’t tried any food from this world yet, but evidently, the people here aren’t exactly feasting on gourmet cuisine.

"So, like, is our food really that much better than what you guys usually eat?" Inquired Jaden, as he munched on some pancakes slathered in hazelnut spread.

"I’d say that’s an understatement. I’ve never experienced such a complex explosion of flavor, not to mention in so much variety. Even the food I ate when I lived in the castle cannot even begin compare to this," Grinned Zelmira, before jamming a whole hash brown into her mouth.

"Yeah, thish ish sho good! I don’t even know what I’m eating, but I don’t care!" Laughed Drewen heartily, wolfing down some spring rolls.

"Well, this is some of the best food our world had to offer. Guess the cuisine of this world has a lot of progress to make," Aria mused thoughtfully.

"We could share some recipes, but there’s probably ingredients that haven’t been discovered in this world yet, or maybe don’t even exist. Stuff like spices and whatnot," Spoke up Ciel.

"It’s a bit depressing to think that we’ll never get to taste any of this again after the five of you return to your world. I suppose we’ll just have to make the most of it while you’re here and eat as much as we can fit into our stomachs," Chimed in Erisia with a wry smile.

"Like I said before, I’ve got a unlimited supply, so feel free to ask for as much as you want," I offered in response.

"I think most, if not all, of us, will be taking you up on that offer," Replied Veon, dusting some crumbs off his lap as he munched on a sausage pastry.

Sounds like that could be a bit of a hassle...but, well, having good food is one of life’s greatest pleasures, and given the way they’ve been reacting to our food, I’d feel bad to deprive them of it after introducing them to it.

In hindsight, maybe doing so was a tad bit cruel, they’ll only get to have this food for as long as I’m still in this world. And of course, I don’t plan on sticking around for very long, if I can help it.

We should avoid introducing them to anything else from our world that doesn’t exist here. If it were me, I’d be pretty bummed if I got to try some incredible food only to never have access to it again.

Hm, now that I think about it, I’m glad I wasn’t compatible for reincarnation in another world.

In the vast majority of isekai anime, the protagonists end up in pretty medieval worlds. There’s no way I’d be able to handle that.

No technology, no modern conveniences and amenities, narrow-minded ways of thinking...yeah, it’d be a nightmare to get used to after living in modern society.

And I definitely don’t have what it takes to be one of those protagonists who introduce modern concepts to those medieval fantasy worlds, that’d be way too much work.

I’m glad I ended up where I did. Sure, I had my fair share of near-death experiences, but it all worked out in the end. And the futuristic society is pretty sweet when you don’t have to worry about fighting Monsters all the time.

And of course, above all else, is Aria. Meeting her made it all worth it.
