Chapter 633: Chapter 633: Accounted For

"I suppose I owe you all an explanation. Like I said, I’m the fifth Princess, Zelmira Lynocyes. I lived in the castle up until about five years ago. I was caught practicing Magic, my father, the King, had me restrained and beaten in front of all the members of the Royal family, to set an example.

After that, I ran away. The Knights chased me, but I was saved by Veon and Erisia. I didn’t tell them who I was or why the Knights were chasing me, and they didn’t pry. I never went out in public, so not many people outside of the castle knew what I looked like.

Anyway, one thing led to another and the three of us ended up forming Revolt, you all know the rest. I always wanted to reveal the truth, but the more time passed, the harder and harder it became to speak up about it. I’m sorry for deceiving all of you, I honestly didn’t mean any harm, I was...I was just afraid you’d all reject me," Remarked Zelmira, bowing her head in apology.

Uh, maybe I shouldn’t be here. Not to sound cold, but I really couldn’t give less of a shit about any of this. I have no intention of getting involved, I just want to get home.

"Well, uh, sorry about the trouble. I’ll leave you guys to it, good luck with your rebellion and whatnot," I spoke up awkwardly, before adding as I glanced at Jaden, "Come on, let’s get going."

"Please, wait! I understand that you must want to return to your world as quickly as possible, and our nation’s conflict has nothing to do with you, but-..."

"Sorry, but no. I’m not getting involved."

"Hold on, at least hear her out, man. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not asking you to be all selfless and risk your life for nothing. This’ll be mutually beneficial...in return for our help, they’ll help us get to the Demon nation. Plus, knowing you, I bet you’re feeling pretty keen on killing the ones responsible for summoning us here in the first place," Remarked Jaden, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah, true, but I’d rather not get caught up in the politics of overthrowing a nation," I responded dryly.

"All we want from you Heroes is to use your power to kill the biggest threats among the Nobility, that’s all. We’ll handle the rest ourselves," Chimed in Zelmira.

"At the very least, let’s discuss this with the others before deciding. That much should be fine, right?" Jaden prodded in an effort to persuade me.

"Fine, we’ll discuss it. But just for the record, I’m vehemently opposed to this," I huffed, before opening a portal into my Pocket Dimension.

"If you decide to help us, return here later tonight, after sunset. Our other core members will be back by then," Remarked Zelmira.

"Alright. But if we don’t show up, assume that we’ve decided against working with you guys," I replied, before heading into the Pocket Dimension, Jaden following in after me.

In hindsight, maybe we should’ve tried harder to find him yesterday.

As we entered the Pocket Dimension, the others glanced up as I shut the portal, relieved looks on their faces as they looked at Jaden.

"Hey, guys, I’m back! Glad to see you’re all-...huh?" Blurted out Jaden in bewilderment, as his gaze fell upon Rex.

"<Hey, been a while>," Rex greeted him with a nod.

"Wha...? How...?"

"Oh, right, forgot to mention, Rex is back," I remarked with a wry smile.

"Uh, yeah, I can see that. Holy shit...no idea what’s going on, but this is awesome! Welcome back, dude!" Grinned Jaden, before adding as he narrowed his eyes slightly, "Wait, are you a Spirit?"

"<It’s a bit complicated, but in a nutshell, yes>."

"Wait, if you know about Spirits, does that mean you tried using Spiritual Magic too?" Inquired Ciel curiously.

"Mhm, sure did. Already summoned and linked with five Spirits."

"Five?! No fair, I can only link with three," Frowned Cleo enviously.

"And I could only summon one...but that one ended up being Rex, so I’m definitely not complaining," Smiled Ciel cheerfully.

"And Kai and I can’t summon any since we already have the Apostles, who are shared between us. We can use Spirit Fusion with them, though," Chimed in Aria.

"Yeah, I can see that Kai’s currently using it," He nodded, glancing at me right as I undid the fusion, separating with Invidia before withdrawing him.

"What kind of Spirits did you link with? I got a Vampire, though I haven’t yet tried summoning the remaining two, since I can’t do it in here," Remarked Cleo.

"The first one I summoned was this Spirit called a Rejuven, it-...oh, right, I got my legs back!" Grinned Jaden, lifting his trouser legs up slightly.

"For real? Wow, nice...I’m happy for you, man," I smiled, as he beamed cheerfully.

"Mhm, the Rejuven Spirit can heal any injury so long as the target is still alive, even injuries that have already closed up. Which means, I can regenerate your arm for you, Ciel."

"Nah, I’m good."

"Wait, what?"

Yeah, what?

"I’m good. I’ve grown pretty attached to Fragor, pun intended, I don’t need a real arm," She grinned in response.

"Uh, I see...well, if you change your mind, you know who to call," He replied with a wry smile.

"Sure, I’ll hit you up."

"Well, alright then. Anyway, as for the other Spirits I summoned, I got a Sun Lizard, Shadow Cat, Unicorn and Hydra."

"Hm, let’s see...cool, the Rejuven and Hydra Spirits are all S-Ranked, the other three are A-Ranked. A Unicorn sounds pretty cool, maybe I’ll get one too," Mused Cleo thoughtfully.

"Huh? Wait, you mean you can choose which Spirits to summon?"

"Mhm, yeah, thanks to my Monster System. I also don’t need to use those scrolls, I can summon them just by tapping on the option in my System Display," She informed him.

"Damn, that’s convenient. Well, it’s fine, I’m pretty satisfied with the Spirits I got," He shrugged wryly.

"<So, now that everyone’s accounted for, let’s hurry up and get on track to go home already>," Chimed in Rex.

"Yeah, so, about that...," Began Jaden sheepishly, before continuing, "I’ve kinda got something I’d like to discuss in regards to that."
