As Tris fled from the scene, she knew that she couldn’t just leave Kazuichi alone. After all. He was severely overpowered by the Zombie Plant. If she didn’t come to his rescue, he was as good as dead.

On the other hand, Tris was fairly aware that heshe couldn’t just leave her younger sister alone. She was still in a trance thanks to the Zombie Plant. If she were to leave her alone, she would most likely walk towards the Zombie Plant once again.

And it’s not like she could sacrifice the wet towel around her mouth and nose. She was going to help Kazuichi so she couldn’t afford to get hypnotized by the Zombie Plant.

"Wait... Amaya’s a Canary, right?" Tris said to herself as she suddenly stopped into a halt. Without thinking twice, she lightly chopped her younger sister on the neck, causing her to fall asleep in an instant. She then hurled her towards a wide branch atop the tree. That way, even if there was an infected who worked up the courage to get her, they’d have to climb up the tree while enduring the smell that came from Amaya.

It was quite a sophisticated plan that Tris was proud of herself for thinking it.

Now that the issue with Amaya was taken care of, she broke into a sprint, intending to rescue Kazuichi without hesitation.

Even though she was out of breath, she continued running at full sprint. She knew that every second counted and that Kazuichi needed her presence. Those thoughts drove her to run, and she didn’t stop no matter what.

When she reached the clearing. There were still roots and vines everywhere. She was careful enough not to touch any of them since doing so would garner the Zombie Plant’s attention.

Right now, the Zombie Plant’s focus was wholly on Kazuichi, so any sneak attack would work on it as long as she didn’t attract its attention. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Squelch~

The first thing that caught Tris’s attention was the gaping mouth of the Zombie Plant. It was about to swallow Kazuichi whole.

Tris readied her dagger, tucking her elbows in as she simulated the attack in her mind. There was no backing down now.

"KAZUICHI!" Tris screamed as she mustered the courage to jump forward, bringing her dagger up so she could deliver a full swing toward the Zombie Plant.

"Tris?" Kazuichi, who was dangling upside down, was surprised that Tris actually came back.

Before he knew it, his eyes teared up... and then his eyes went wide when he saw what Tris was wearing.

He didn’t mention anything about her outfit, though. Instead, he just let her do her thing as she struck down and brought the dagger into the Zombie Plant’s eyes.

Squelch~

Another disgusting sound came out of the Zombie Plant as the dagger connected, creating a soft squishy sound while the gigantic eyes exploded with green juice.

Kiiiaaghhkk~!

The Zombie Plant shrieked in pain as it hurled Kazuichi away. Tris stepped onto the rim of the Zombie Plant’s eyes as she pulled the dagger, causing the eye to ooze out even more green juice. Most of it sprayed at Tris and she felt nauseated as she go down.

"What are you wearing?" Kazuichi asked. He didn’t pretend to turn away since he imprinted the image in his mind.

Apparently, Tris wasn’t wearing any t-shirt, and her stark black bra was right in front of his face.

"D-d-don’t look." Tris bashfully said. "I had to do it... just in case Amaya wakes up, I tied my wet shirt around her face."

"Ahh, I see... wait, you left her? Where did you leave her?!" Kazuichi exclaimed.

"There’s no time for idle chitchat. Let’s defeat this thing and get out of here." Tris called out, to which Kazuichi nodded his head in agreement.

Now that Tris successfully delivered a surprise attack. The Zombie Plant was currently disoriented and it received ample amount of damage. It was time for them to turn the tables and defeat the Zombie Plant so it won’t harass more uninfected in the near future.

"All right. Leave it to me." Kazuichi clenched his fist before he charged at the Zombie Plant. Inwardly, he wanted to thank the plant for giving him such a precious image of Tris. His inner shut-in mode told him to do it, causing him to smile.

He got to see Tris covered in green slime. "And for that, I thank you." Kazuichi’s lips curved upward as he extended his claws and repeatedly scratched at the edges of the meteorite ore which was implanted by the lower stem of the Zombie Plant.

Mercilessly, Kazuichi hacked and slashed around it before grabbing it with both hands. He then tugged at it until it completely separated from the Zombie Plant.

Krggrhrkrk~

The meteorite ore was at least half Kazuichi’s height, but he carried it with ease thanks to his enhanced strength as a Hybrid.

"Now we run," Kazuichi said, gesturing for Tris to follow him as they weaved through the vines and roots.

Another shriek was heard from the Zombie Plant as they tried to get away. Thanks to Tris’s intervention, Kazuichi managed to escape and they even stole the meteorite ore which was embedded in its stem. Now, there was no way the Zombie Plant would be able to recover, and even if it did, it won’t be as large compared to before.

Vine and roots whipped here and there, but Kazuichi and Tris dodged them with ease. Once they were out of the clearing, they had to deal with the zombies which were connected to the roots of the Zombie Plant. Now that the meteorite ore was gone, the effect on the infected was reduced, and they sloppily staggered toward Kazuichi and Tris.

For a moment, Kazuichi thought that they’d still have a hard time with the infected, but after seeing how slower they got, he suppressed a chuckle.

As they sprinted to where Tris left Amaya, Kazuichi couldn’t help but steal glances at Tris. He had no idea that the jiggle physics actually worked like that. His face reddened a little bit as Tris consciously covered her top while growling at him.
