Chapter 2223: Propaganda

"Extra, extra, read all about it!"

"Those look terrifying..."

"It’s a good thing that the racial alliance is already moving to seal them."

"If it wasn’t for that, then who knows what might happen next."

This was a scene that was happening in all of the various countries in the racial alliance.

On the front page of all these newspapers was an article about what had happened recently. At the very top of the page, there was a picture of the corruption energy spike.

For the leaders of the racial alliance, one might think that this was information that should have been kept secret at all cost.

However, these newspapers were all credible sources that were controlled by the rulers of the countries that they were based on. Which meant that this was actually something that was done by the racial alliance.

As I watched the people reading the newspapers in front of me, I couldn’t help giving a secret sigh.

After all, the only reason that this was happening was because I was the one that gave this order.

"This is crazy."

That was the response from the racial alliance when they heard the plan that I had. Though it was only the ones that weren’t a part of the inner circle that I created that said this.

Those people already knew about the plan since I had personally told them about it and convinced them.

Which was why I used the same argument in this meeting.

"What we’re lacking the most right now is hope. People are at their lowest point after what happened, which is why we have to give them some kind of hope. Even if it is a lie, it will be something that will sustain them."

No one was able to argue against this since they all knew that this was the truth.

After what happened with the forces of Destruction, everyone had been terrified about what could come next.

So that was why they all needed something to sustain them.

With this argument, there really wasn’t anything that they could say as they agreed with my idea in the end. Though it was clear that there were people that still had misgivings about this idea.

However, this was why there were articles about the racial alliance sealing off these corruption energy spikes that spread through the different countries.

It wasn’t just the three spikes that were found that everyone learned about.

In the end, there were reports about over ten different spikes that came in and we reported all of them. We didn’t hide a single thing about these corruption energy spikes since doing that would backfire on us.

In this matter, we had to be thorough or else it would be dangerous.

"I never thought that I would be using propaganda in another world."

Though there was a part of me that was also amazed that I had reached a point where I could create a propaganda campaign that could reach the entire continent.

It really was an amazing amount of power that I had gathered in this world.

With a sigh, I stopped observing the people on the street and looked at the one sitting across from me.

In a calm and simple voice, I asked, "How are the investigations going?"

"It’s not going well." The other person said with a sigh.

I wasn’t surprised to hear this since this was the reason that we were doing this meeting here instead of in the castle.

The only reason that we were sitting in this cafe in the first place was because it was already stressful enough, so I wanted us to have a break. Though it did mean that we had to put up a few spells since what we were discussing was sensitive, it was still better than being cooped up in the castle.

The prime minister went on to explain how they hadn’t found a single thing.

He didn’t go into detail since we were still in public, but he did show me all of the reports that had been sent to him. These reports were about the search for more of these corruption energy spikes and what we were finding out about them.

To put it simply, we didn’t find anything useful at all.

What we found was that the seal was still ineffective against all of the corruption energy spikes that we encountered. It didn’t matter what kind of changes we made, even Max was helpless against this thing.

The other thing that they found was that these corruption energy spikes didn’t follow any pattern at all.

Just like how the daggers I created with my divine energy formed the base of the seals that we put around the corruption energy spikes, we had thought that the corruption energy spikes might be the base of something bigger.

It was just that no matter how we tried connecting them on a map, there was no connection between them at all. It was clear that they had been dropped in random spots on the continent that didn’t have any connection to each other.

No matter what angle the brightest minds tried to connect them, there were no connections between them at all.

So in the end, the report that was sent back was a disappointing one.

"We’ll have to keep investigating these things, we can’t let them activate." The prime minister said in a firm voice.

It wasn’t as if he was reporting anything, this was just his own determination to solve this matter.

I gave a simple nod since I knew that this was all that we could do.

It was what I had already been expecting, which was why it really wasn’t a surprise anymore.

It was also why I called the articles that we published nothing more than propaganda since that was all that it was.

"As long as they have hope, I think they’ll be able to hold out a bit longer. But the moment that the forces of Destruction do anything, then it’ll be..."

For now, we needed to find distractions...
